The best thing about the Park Pub is the outdoor patio. It is a really lovely place to sit and have a drink and look out at the park and golf course. Most of the food, on the other hand, is pretty mediocre, and the beer list could be expanded beyond a few basic drafts. I went with a group that tried several appetizers and some pizza. The tator tots were crispy, warm, and well seasoned. They were served with a side cheese sauce. We tried an order of hot wings, which were nicely crisp and flavorful. We also tried the specialty peanut butter and jelly wings. Although the flavors were really interesting, I found the sauce to be too thick and sticky to be enjoyable. The mozzarella sticks are homemade, with a nice crunchy and bready coating. The Melba was on the thin side and it had a very sweet flavor. Lastly, we tried a couple of pizza options, which were disappointing. They had a thick crust, tasteless sauce, and they were heavy on the cheese. I did like the extra chunky seasoning that was applied all along the outer crust.

Today I got to meet some nice Unilocalers and enjoyed a beautiful evening on the deck at the Park Pub. I give the beer, tater tots(YUM still! Huge portion still!), and hot wings(crispy and delicious) A+ ratings. The mozzarella sticks had great homemade texture but the combo of the Italian breadcrumb seasonings and Melba sauce was a bit weird. Something appears to have changed with the pizza since the last time I had it; today’s pizza had a very heavily seasoned crust and sauce, and was generally not what I was expecting. Service was fine and the tempo of the meal fit with our mood and requests. I’d give 3.5 stars but that’s not an option so I’m rounding up to 4.

First off, we go here, a lot for lunch. My husband and I frequent the place, spend a great deal of money there. Tonight we went for dinner as a family to celebrate something really great that just happened for us. It was reasonably loud when we arrived at 5:45. We were seated in the pub and not offered accommodations in the dining room, away from the pub. It was fine until a table of unruly older women celebrating a birthday who clearly already had been drinking, arrived. Now don’t get me wrong — I love a good celebration. But these women, they were loud and cursing with kids 4 feet away — they saw us they knew we were there. The table behind us left and asked to go to the dining room — that’s how loud they were. We suffered through, ate our dinner and when it was time to pay our bill($ 92 by the way), when my husband complained the owner told him if we didn’t like the noise level we could go to Chuckie Cheese. The lesson, if you are a family you aren’t welcome at the Park Pub.

Awesome salads, awesome pizza. Menu is surprisingly very good for a pub. Food is always perfectly cooked. Great staff, it can get pretty busy here and they always make sure everyone is taken care of. I have literally never asked for a refill here, ever. Nice outside seating on the deck with lots of room, great spot to eat on a nice day. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Five of us had dinner here everything was great everyone loved their meal. Had the grip and rip one pound burger it was cooked perfect and delicious. The steamed clams come with bread and a great broth loved it. It’s not glamorous but the food is spot on.

Stopped here after a hockey game next door. Ordered the chicken Caesar salad, french onion soup and a burger to go. The place became quite chaotic as many people came over from the game. Food was good, portions were small due to the small to go containers. We ran into some friends and decided to stay to eat and the wait staff did nothing to accommodate us. We had to even find our own silverware. Ugh…

We went to the Park Pub tonight for New Years Eve dinner and we could not have been any happier. My hisband and I shared a porterhouse steak dinner, and for an appetizer we shared a warm spinach salad with pumpkin croutons. I know it sounds a little bit crazy. But it was all incredibly delicious and extremely fresh. Staff was incredible and very very friendly and beat absolutely on the ball! You have to give this place a try. Especially if you live in TROY! Please keep it local. THESE businesses are working so hard to make amazing meals and I think we SHOULDSHOWOURSUPPORT to them and give them a try before we leave the city to go elsewhere. Thank you PARKPUB, we will definitely be back again and again. Happy NEWYEAR to everybody there! (especially the cook!)

I had heard a lot of great things about the Park Pub. I have been wanting to try it for some time now, so my husband picked it up for dinner. We decided to split two appetizers opposed to full meals. The peanut butter and jelly wings were good. However we got the nachos and they were terrible. They were not cooked all the way through and my husband found a long hair in them. It was very disappointing. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

One of my favorite places in Troy! Great food, beautiful view from the deck, and a great beer selection. If you’re gonna go there you definitely need to try their PB&J wings. I know it sounds gross but trust me, everyone says that and then everyone loves them. Also, they have a great raw-bar every Friday night during the summer months!

We were able to get a table right away, and the service was good. The groundskeeper sandwich and the club were meh, but… The peanut butter & jelly wings sound weird but are amazing! Throw caution to the wind and try them!

I really like the wing flavors here. I’ve been twice and my faves are«hot» and«maple chipotle.» They have other weird stuff like pb&j wings if you’re adventurous. The wings are crispy, but they’re kind of small. That’s fine. I don’t mind working for the meat. Blue cheese and ranch are good. I have also tasted their french onion soup, but I think I like french onion soup no matter where I am. They’ve got good beers on draft, averaging $ 4.50 a pint. I“ve been twice. Once I got a lovely waitress. Once I got a sticky table and sullen waitress/bartender. I like their location. Right of the park, peaceful. It’s a family place, I’m sure they have a lot of local regulars. Charming. Overall, I’d go back because I like their wings and location that much.

Out server was very nice, but the food was mediocre, at best. I had the steak sub and the bread was rubbery and hard. My husband had a well done burger and it resembled a hockey puck. I am not sure how people reviewed this place so well, but I wouldn’t go back for the food.

Great service, consistantly delicious food. There’s a deck to hang when the weather is nice and a nice golf course. But seriously, the food is really good.

Park Pub has a lot going for it. It’s a beautiful setting for a leisurely lunch, right next to the Frear Park golf course. The prep of coffee-shop standards is excellent; I’ve had solid wings and a turkey club here. However, today I went for the Friday Raw Bar and was pretty disappointed. For starters it’s not a bar at all, but an a la cart menu with cold shrimp, oysters, clams and crab legs and a smattering of seafood entrees. The clams where great but the farmed oysters from Florida, though huge and meaty, were absolutely devoid of taste. Fortunately there was excellent spicy cocktail sauce to dip them in. The bar is filled with crusty old farts who make their presence felt with loud and occasionally obnoxious conversation. They’re basically harmless, but the large amount of smoking on the deck isn’t. Of note: if you order ice tea, and you request a refill from the waitress walking around with a pitcher, you will be charged for two iced teas.

Great friendly pub with interesting choices as well as typical fare. The grilled salmon BLT is just delicious, and also a great bargain for such a generous portion. The fries, wings, and onion rings are always cooked perfectly. Occasionally they have a seafood night and it’s the best around… shrimp, Alaskan king crab, scallops, and clams. Yum. The staff are always attentive and friendly.

OLDRELIABLE. I swear, this place has the most consistent kitchen I’ve experienced in Troy. Every time, the food is perfectly prepared and very tasty. I like the burgers, the PB&J Wings(UNGHHHHH!), and the Pesto Wings. Everyone who I have taken there has agreed that it is a very good meal, nothing mind blowing(other than the PB&J wings) but always enjoyed. Also, the Guinness is always well poured and the lines seem clean. Sitting outside makes it one of the most pleasurable places to dine in the Collar City. One time, the first nice day of spring, we went there and waited almost an hour for food, but that was just a fluke, never experienced it since. Support this business, we need more like them in Troy!

HOLYMOLY!!! This place’s food was out of this world! First of all the waitress I had was so beautiful and nice(she’s actually a person friend of ours) I would’ve had a nice time if it was just decent pub food. Yet, I was so pleasantly surprised. I got the award winning peanut butter and jelly wings, and I was a skeptic. They were freaking delicious. Its actuallly a spicy Thai peanut sauce with raspberry drizzle. Sweet, spicy, hot all wrapped up on a deliciously crispy chicken wing. They were out of this world. Then, the burger was a standard pub burger, but the size and quality rivaled some of the best pubs I’ve been to. It was seasoned and put together with some pride, not just slapped on a bun. Onions were carmelized well and the fries were done perfectly. 2 tall beers and small one and I was still in and out for around 25 bucks. After a horrible round of golf, this place sure hit the spot. I may have a new watering hole. Trust me, the friendship had nothing to do with the 5 star rating. If its good I’ll tell you it is, and if it sucks, I’ll let you know that as well. The place isn’t much for ambiance but I’m there for the food. There is also quite a large outside eating area. Most of it is covered and there are a few tables that aren’t under the canopy. They put their best food food forward and I think this place is tops so far for pub food!

Its your standard tavern fare so don’t go expecting anything more and you may not be disappointed. The food isn’t terrible its just nothing to brag about. I got the Bacon Cheeseburger soup because it sounded interesting. It really lived up to the name complete with french fries INIT. To me this was very weird and not exactly what I’m looking for in a soup. Points for originality though. I ordered the Garlic Parm wings for dinner and my gf got the Grip and Rip which is their 1 lb char broiled burger. The wings were plain except for clumps of garlic and cheese thrown on top. The burger mostly tasted like char. Didn’t really bother me but my gf didn’t enjoy tasting a old grill. The menu was very limited. Pretty much wings and sandwiches with a few dinners that didn’t seem all that appealing. The interior looked nice as though it had been redone recently. We sat in a back room where there was a poker game going on at one of the tables which also seemed kinda odd.

The Park Pub is the full service restaurant and bar operated on the premises of the Frear Park golf course and ice skating rink. The concession stand inside the rink warming area is also operated by Park Pub. The Park Pub is the official spot at Frear Park to grab a beer. The unofficial spot is up at the 5th hole(in the darkness of night) for all those sneaky kiddies. Way back in the day(1980s), this restaurant was under a different name and management(I think Louie’s). My aunt used to hang out here and always raved about how great the pizza was. I spent countless hours as a youngin’ skating and playing hockey at the Frear Park ice rink, which was like being inside a big ice box(Albany Academy’s rink was just as cold). After hockey, I got to enjoy the great pizza served here, something I looked forward to. Since several of my FB friends are fans of Park Pub Restaurant, I decided to stop by for a Friday night dinner, figuring this place has to be pretty good. The inside of this casual restaurant looks very nice with hardwood floors in the lounge area to the left and a dining room to the right. The cozy lounge area has seating at the bar and a few regular and high top tables. There are several small flatscreen TVs in the lounge, a jukebox, darts, and a warm fireplace. Park Pub has to be the perfect place for hockey moms or dads to hang out and stay warm enjoying a beer or cocktail while their kid is skating out on ice. They can watch the live action out on the ice rink on the big HDTV at the bar. Quick Draw is also played here too. The bar has a few beers on tap and fully stocked with liquor. The food menu offers typical pub fare including appetizers, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, pasta, steaks, and chicken. Specials are offered here including a Cattle Bar menu on Fridays which offers several special meat entrees(steaks, filets, lamb, pork, duck, venison stew). The prices here are fair. See the menu at I arrived here a little after 6PM on Friday evening. The dining room was empty, so I sat myself at an open table in the lounge, where everyone was hanging out. The noise in the lounge echoed throughout the place. The dining room did eventually begin to fill after I arrived. I started out with a Diet Pepsi($ 1.50) served in a Yuengling pint and a 4 slice round pizza($ 5.25), which was pretty good and had a thin crispy crust(soft inside) with plenty of good sauce and cheese. For dinner I ordered a Troy Philly Cheese Steak($ 7.95) served with kettle chips, and pickle. I did request a side salad to go with the meal, but initially instead the waitress brought out an entrée sized garden salad. This snafu was corrected very quickly. The bowl of side salad($ 1.75 actual price) was fresh and had field greens, cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, black olives, and long very thin shoestring carrots & radishes, which was very decorative, but took some effort to eat. The cheese steak was very good and hearty tasting, which had thin and very tender French dip beef, sauteed peppers, onions, & Monterey Jack cheese in a soft roll. The kettle chips were warm and very crispy and not salty. I decided to pass on dessert since I had enough food. Overall, I’d give the food a solid 4 stars. The service was decent. The waitress did not speak much and left me alone to enjoy the meal and did offer me a refill on the Diet Pepsi between courses. The atmosphere here was comfortable, but on the loud side with voices were echoing around. FACEBOOK:
