Excellent deserts and bread. One of the most popular and can be busy at certain times of year. Cheesecake and carrot cake are terrific. Not sure about ingredients, if you eat consciously(all natural, gluten free, etc) you might need to look elsewhere.

As I was cruising around Troy one fine day, I passed by The Cookie Factory completely by accident. By virtue of having«cookie» in the name, I just had to stop and check it out. What I found was a wonderland of cookies, pastries and baked goods that made my head spin! I don’t remember exactly what I bought besides the excellent black & white cookie, but I bought many things. The selection is so vast there, that you can’t help but buy a lot of things. Luckily, the prices were fair(but not cheap) for what you get. This is the original full-size location and is the one that you want to go to, if you can. Thanks for being there for me, Cookie Factory!

How can I have never reviewed The Cookie Factory? They make some of my favorite yeast raised donuts in the area. Here’s my hot list. 1) Anything with chocolate frosting. The plain chocolate frosted is my favorite here. The yeast donut shell is just so impossibly light, it’s really a perfect vehicle for this fudgy cocoa rich topping. But the Boston Cream is pretty great too. 2) The glazed It’s a little non traditional, with some notable citrus in the glaze itself, but man does this shop get that crackle right. And again the light and elastic yeast donut shells are fantastic. They put the industrially produced donuts from the big chains to shame But not everything is great. The famous double dipped donuts are far too sweet. Like, teeth achingly sweet. Like, diabetic coma sweet. Like, there isn’t enough milk or coffee in the world to wash these donuts down, kind of sweet. Make the trip up the hill. They’ve got parking. Get the donuts. And pick up a fudge fancy while you’re there too. Just get one from the baking sheet and not one of the pre-packed cookies. Hopefully, once you experience real donut bliss, you will no longer be satisfied by the omnipresent pink and orange beacons of mediocrity.

I don’t know how a bakery can run out of Italian bread halfway through the day, especially in upstate NY. The only reason I stopped here for bread is because it was so close to my house. The lack of stock and the inconsistency of the product over the last year will definitely make me drive the extra five minutes to the other local bakery. Maybe they will get there act together soon before they are forced to close the doors. I do enjoy their fudge fancies. The staff wasn’t friendly or efficient today either. It took them ten minutes to wait on two customers. Just disappointed…

Recently decided to try the store in Loudonville. Bought an assortment of cookies and desserts. The cookies and pastries, although«pretty»(in a mass produced, Wal-Mart kind of way) were tasteless, uniformly dry(bordering on stale) and ridiculously saccharine. Could not finish one item. The mini cheesecake was gluey. This is a factory store with factory flavor.

This is for the new location in Clifton Park NY on Route 9. I stopped in and bought a package of Italian cookies, French bread, and assorted berry tarts. I’m so happy a reasonably priced bakery has moved into this area and everything was fresh and delicious They have all sorts of cookies, pastries, cakes, pies, and various breads. Various coffees are available to purchase by the cup and several tables are available to stop and enjoy a coffee break and a sweet treat. Try them out better than other places in CP,

Cookie factory is awesome. Found out about it through their small fudge cookies near a cash register somewhere. Hooked immediately! This has now become the go to for baked goods. Their cakes are incredible and very reasonably priced! We always get the chocolate with raspberry filling and buttercream icing. It’s to die for. Check out the Troy location asap. I am always blown away with the selection they have. So many baked goodies to drool over!

Can’t quite give them five stars, only because I’ve grown up with the other well know bakery in the city, HOWEVER, this is the place for eclairs and fudge fancies. They do have fantastic bread and they have an excellent assortment of pastries and baked goods. We always buy more than we go in for. They never seem to run out of anything, there’s always plenty of stock. Staff isn’t the friendliest, that’s not the biggest deal. They have great dinner rolls. If you don’t live in Troy, it’s worth the drive and visit.

This is for the location on Albany-Shaker Road in Loudonville. ‘Love the free samples. I have to say that everything looked much better than it tasted and I was deeply disappointed. I paid a fortune for 5 mini Schuyatelles and had to throw them out. They was stale and plain awful. The éclair was half filled with heavy custard. ‘Not what I was hoping for. Perhaps this location does not get much turnover, so items simply are not fresh.

Was in Albany for a business trip and knew that I had to bring home some half moon cookies. Asked one of the people I work with and they suggested the cookie factory. So I came in on Wednesday to get half moon cookies to take home with me to Cincinnati. Ohio. The ladies were so nice and sweet and even wrapped the box for me so they would last and make it on the flight. I flew them from Albany to Cincinnati and got them home and they were still as good as the one I ate on Wednesday.

I ordered a cake for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday after having birthday cakes from The Cookie Factory before that were delicious. I called on a Thursday, and asked to pick up the cake on the following Friday. I ordered a large cake to feed 30 people, fudge marble with fudge filling, and buttercream frosting. The Wednesday before the party I get a phone call from The Cookie Factory saying that they have my cake there, I was supposed to pick it up last Friday and what would I like them to do with it… and I am writing it much nicer than the rude woman on the phone said it. I told the woman that I was unsure what she was talking about as I was supposed to pick the cake up in two days, not last Friday. The woman argued with me until I told her the date I was supposed to pick it up(July 26th) at which time she must have looked at her handy dandy order book and realized that in fact she had the dates mixed up… after receiving no apology she asked for my credit card to hold the cake… to which I replied that I wasn’t going to give a credit card for a week old cake. She then told me that she wasn’t going to give me an old cake and they would bake a new one… ok great. So Friday comes, I go into the bakery to pick up the cake… they can’t find it. Now I’m starting to panic, I am also thinking they probably froze my cake… anyways, after looking for ten minutes, asking different people, the girl finally comes back with the cake. I asked her if it was a fresh cake, to which she of course replied that it was… but I have to say, after paying $ 45 I was very disappointed. The cake was dry and fell apart when cut, and it was supposed to be fudge marble but it looked like a white cake. I most likely will not be getting any future cakes here.

insanely, ridiculously good bakery. If I was forced to kill myself it would be by overdosing on the fudge fancy cookies.

We ordered a wedding cupcake tower from The Cookie Factory after we had sampled one of their wedding cakes at a friend’s recent wedding. The cupcakes were delicious, and the presentation of the full tower filled with cupcakes was amazing! We had great customer service when ordering, with helpful hints from the decorator as to what cupcake /frosting combinations would look best. The came and set up the tower at our venue, so we didn’t need to do a thing for it to look good. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! I highly recommend!

Cookie factory did a good job replacing the whole in my heart that was left when vanilla bean closed. Fudge fantasies are almost the same taste as the fudge fancies– not quite there but they do the job, and their selection of other pastries, cupcakes and cakes are always fresh and scrumptious. Most workers here are very nice and helpful, with rare occasion you may get someone who doesn’t know a lot about some of their speciality items.

For some reason I refuse to make pfeffernusse, those little German spice cookies coated in powdered sugar. And I friggin’ love them. I can neither confirm nor deny that I’ve eaten an entire box of Cookie Factory pfeffernusse cookies in one day. I don’t get excited about their fudge fancy cookies, but my observation tells me that kids love them. The store is located on Pawling, but in my travels downtown it appears they will be operating their baking factory down on River Street at some point in the future. Why do I withhold one star? One, I can bake just fine on my own, so my use for Cookie Factory is limited. Two, I e-mailed asking whether they had any pfefernusse and was told«yes»; I said«great I’ll be in later to pick up a couple of boxes(my dad loves ‘em too); I got to the store and was told«no, we’ll have them tomorrow». That annoyed me.

Great fresh doughnuts(skip the chains!), the best cinnamon rolls in town, the fudgies are coffee’s best friend, and it is just an all-around awesome bakery and local business. On top of all that, they offer serious bang for the buck. There’s a reason people will brave horrible road construction, Congress St. traffic, and weekend lines to get in the door!
