I have to write this update because when a business does the right thing, I feel compelled to let everyone know. After I had written my review, and sent a similar letter directly to the email address on the Hawley Lane Opticians’ site, I received a very, very nice letter of apology from the Manager of Hawley Lane Opticians. I must say, I am impressed. This gentleman may have refreshed my faith in humanity! He wrote an incredible letter of apology and concern for the integrity of his business. As a former business woman with several businesses of my own, I feel that customer service remains the number one responsibility of a good company. And good customer service is what keeps a business actually in-business. What this manager has accomplished is multi-fold. He has restored my faith in his business, and he has put a stopper on the wrath that I would have continued to spread on this business. I am sincerely grateful for the concern regarding the reputation of this business. In the manager’s letter of apology he had also informed me that he is reiterating the need for good customer service to his staff. This is so important to me. Based on the responsiveness, and consideration that this manager has shown me, I am willing to give his business another chance. And I want to share this enlightenment with the rest of the Unilocal world.

Literally the worst place ever. Avoid this place!!! Not only did I have to get two eye exams and neither Dr agreed on my prescription, I got a stye on my eye(i can only assume from their equipment as I have never had one before). The second Dr’s prescription wasn’t correct either. I told him during the exam that it didn’t seem right, and he encouraged me to try it out for a few days with a pair of contacts. I was getting massive headaches, and he finally consented to give me my old prescription. Then I tried to order glasses with them(not sure what I was thinking). After the prescription came back the second time incorrectly, I demanded my money back. What the heck? I have never experienced such incompetence from an Optician! While I was there returning my glasses the first time, I was talking to another customer who was also returning his incorrectly made glasses. I initially chose this place to support a local business instead of a chain business… what a mistake! I am now taking my prescription for glasses elsewhere(if they send it to me correctly).
