The food wasn’t anything special and the service was very slow. It wasn’t very busy, but from the time we sat down it took roughly 30 minutes before our order was taken. The«glasses» of water weren’t much bigger than a small plastic cup and yet the pitcher of water they brought couldn’t fill glasses for the small group we had. Our waitress was nice, but was very touch feely. We had asked her a few questions about the menu and what they offered that was gluten free and she had no idea. For someone who works in food service and for how many people eat gluten free, its probably something you should know. As I said before the food was ok, but nothing special. I got a burger w/fries since I figured its one of the simpler things on the menu. The top part of the bun was hard and the burger was over cooked, the bacon was good though. All in all it wasn’t terrible, but I also wouldn’t suggest it the next time my family goes out. Even if we were in the area, I’d probably be more inclined to drive towards Milford since they have better restuarnts in their area.

I will never go here again. My family has been coming here on and off for over twenty years. Today we stopped in for some dinner. Waitress was nice but was too nosey for my liking. Brought us fresh bread as well as old, hard, garlic bread that she actually told us was not from today but insisted that she’d bring us out some«fresh» garlic bread ASAP. 1. Why would you serve day old bread? How many days old was it? Was it from last night, or had it been sitting there for a while? 2. Why would you TELL us it’s been sitting in your kitchen… it was 5pm. They should have already had new bread for tonight’s dinner out. Bus boy came to take our salad and bread plates away, but actually hovered at the table while my mother was still finishing her salad until she was done. We joked with him like, «one last bite!» but he was not laughing or pleasant at all. Just said«ok» — snatched the plate from her and walked away. I found this extremely rude. Each of our pasta dinners came out lukewarm at first, and were completely cold by the time we were half way through with them. My mother told the waitress about the temperature issue, and she told the manager on duty, who offered to have them warmed up for us — but at this point we were too hungry and said we’d just take the rest home with us. She was very nice to give us a gift card, but I’m not so sure we will be returning to use it. We asked the bus boy for three to go containers, which he threw down on our table without even saying«here you go!» or «have a nice evening!». He just walked away! We didn’t even get the chance to thank them. Waitress never asked any of us if we needed re-fills on our drinks(we did), or a glass of water instead. Never asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu — even though we let her know that we were celebrating a birthday. She was too concerned with my boyfriend that ordered a couple of vodka pineapples and a french onion soup instead of an entrée — actually asked him if he was driving home. Thank you for your concern, but he worked all day and had already eaten dinner, and it was his birthday! He deserved a couple of drinks if he wanted them, and he was in no way annoying or picky. The drinks were clearly watered down because he drank four cocktails and was not even buzzed. He attempted to joke with her to lighten up the awkward conversation, but she persisted on worrying about him. He was with his family, two adults in their fifties, and three twenty-somethings that could gladly drive him home, as if he wasn’t driving home with us anyway. Way to ruin his birthday dinner — thanks Old Towne!

They prepare many quality dishes. However, the Stars could be 4 but there are more mistakes before after the food arrives which makes it frustrating. Once they are corrected, it’s amazing. Yes– I will still go back and often. The food is great when it’s cooked right. The eggs Benedict is good but sometimes the sauce isn’t consistent. The pancakes are fantastic and always cooked right. The dinner items– they are good but my preference is breakfast. Dinner is a little pricey. Ok –very pricey. Cheeseburgers are truly one of the priciest I’ve seen. All and all-this is a nice establishment and I do enjoy eating here.

Just had a terrific Salmon Dinner at Old Town Restaurant. They are known for their Pizza but they run the gastronomic gamet. If you are interested dishes that cross many nationalities and a bar that will concoct any drink that you desire, this place is a diamond in the rough! You also have a Waite Staff that is very attentive! You can take this review to the bank! This is a tough business and they deliver! I am out, time for dessert!

I’ve been here a handful of times. It’s a step above a diner, but definitely a casual restaurant. They have a good menu and good daily specials that come with a free second alcoholic beverage if you purchase one. Last night I brought my Mom here for her birthday along with 3 other family members because we just wanted something casual, good food, not to spend a ton of money, and because it’s a 3 minute drive from home. I made a reservation for 7pm on a Sunday, but this definitely was not necessary because it wasn’t busy at that time. The food was good as always, but the service wasn’t great. It wasn’t anything in particular, but our waitress just seemed uninterested in serving us and was not personable at all. We even mentioned that it was my Mom’s birthday and they didn’t do anything special for her, I know I could have asked specifically but the proximity of our table to the waiter station would have made it impossible to do discreetly. Anyway, I still payed $ 175 for 5 people(including tip) and that’s without any apps or desserts. We’ll still probably come back again for a quick meal but most likely not on a special occasion.

I love the large selection of choices. Not a big fan of their pizza but love their steak sandwich on garlic bread, eggplant calzone, blackened chicken salad and most of their chicken dishes. Never a wait time. Love having a place like this in town!

Of the few experiences I have had here, I’m not in love. Pizza takeout takes FOREVER. We once ordered for pickup at 6:45 and we waited 25 minutes past that until we said something(along with another guy who came in shortly after us) while everyone who came way after us had already come and gone. The pizza isn’t all that great. It doesn’t look homemade at all. It’s incredibly oily and not all that tasty. Much better options in the area.

Stopped in for a mid-morning breakfast. They offer standard diner breakfast fare. Eggs, pancakes, French toast, etc. I decided on the chocolate chip pancakes. 3 large pancakes arrived and were what one would expect, although there could have been some more chocolate chips in them. The service was prompt and the waiter was attentive. The menu said that the breakfast plates were served with butter and maple syrup. The syrup that came out was a Log Cabin/Aunt Jemima type, definitely not maple. I asked the waiter about it and he dismissed it saying that’s the syrup they had. His lack of caring was annoying. Suggest management simply reprint the correct menu so they don’t give their customers something different than what they expect. If I’m in the neighborhood, I wouldn’t mind stopping here again, but breakfast is definitely a no frills meal at Old Towne.

When I met a buddy for pizza at Old Towns I expected the typical pizzeria in a strip mall. When I got there that’s pretty much what I found. We ordered a pizza. The waitress dropped a basket of bread on the table, typical mall pizza bread, and I sighed, thinking off the mediocrity yet to come. But being hungry I had a piece… it was garlic bread! And tasty too ! Then the pizza came… it was delicious! Wonderful medium thick crust… Covered in fresh vegetables, even the mushrooms were fresh, thickly sliced –not those canned things. not much in the way of leftovers by three time we were done… The waitress was nice, but she looked a little over worked with the number of tables she had, the place was rather busy considering it was on a Wednesday at about 5pm… I felt the prices are a touch high, but not too bad. All In all, ill be back…

It’s a love /hate thing… here’s why: I recently started writing reviews on Unilocal. In my last review I mentioned Old Towne, so I figured I’d write one for here too. One of the things I dislike most about this place is they have a SERIOUS identity crisis. We’re a bar, but we’re not — we’re a pizza place, but we’re not — we’re an all inclusive food place, but we’re not a diner. Their website says«Italian Cuisine» but their Italian dishes aren’t serious, hardcore authentic Italian like you would get at Quattro Pazzi, Luigi’s, Tuscany, etc. Another thing I dislike about Old Towne is where it is. The parking situation is terrible. They share parking with a post office, 2 banks, a liquor store, a nail salon and a dry cleaner. On a busy day, you’ll feel like you’re playing frogger just to get inside. And of course there are the people who think they’re special and park in the no parking zone right in front to get their take out or liquor next door. So with those two major dislikes, what’s to like? They do a nice breakfast. Strangely it seems to be a secret too. If you go around 8 – 9 am, you’ll find no problem getting in without having to play frogger like you might at dinner. Tried numerous things on the breakfast menu multiple times, liked every single thing. Excellent really. Lunch is good too. This is when you can start getting pizza, which is a Greek style pizza. If you are unfamiliar with the style — Beverly on Fairfield Ave. and Captain’s Pizza are both Greek style. Old Towne has a unique flavor and texture you really can’t get elsewhere. I’ve been a fan of their pizza for years. Unique is good. Dinner is good. Pizza is still served during dinner so that’s good. But it seems like they want to be a higher end restaurant than what they are or something. The dinner menu is packed with adjective heavy wording that oversells the food. It is my opinion that the food you read about has a disconnected feeling with the food that arrives on your plate for dinner. Either lay off the food network descriptions or bring a higher level of more consistent food. You’re missing a higher rating otherwise. Another reason for the lack of a 5th star is they keep ‘renovating’ which does nothing for the food — which is the most important thing from a restaurant.

This four star review is based on evaluating Old Towne for what it is — a «nicer» diner. They have a HUGE menu, anything you could possibly be in the mood for, they have. It’s not easy as a parent of 3 kids 4 and under to find places to eat that 1) you can bring your kids and 2) don’t suck. Old Town is one of those places. The food is good — the staff is friendly, and the portions are big. I’ve run into issues calling in food to pick up, they seem to be a tiny bit disorganized on that side of the restaurant, but not enough to complain about. For a quick and cost effective dinner to pick up — I recommend one of their family meals. It comes with salad, bread, pasta, and a select entrée(we usually go with the chicken parm). It can easily feed a whole family with leftovers for only 25 bucks.

My wife and I selected this restaurant for its local convenience. We were searching for Corned Beef and Cabbage for St Pat’s day. We were pleasantly delighted by the attentive wait staff and the meal was perfect. We will be back as we enjoyed our visit very much.

Love the French onion soup. Fresh veggies never fail in their salads. Some of the waiters aren’t very friendly but the waitresses are generally very pleasant(I try to sit at the tables with lady servers!) I love their eggs Benedict and am generally pleased when I come here.

Went with my boyfriend’s family today for lunch… absolutely great! The salad and eggplant appetizers were really good – tasted really fresh and were also very generous portions. I had a chicken cutlet sandwich, which is served on a grinder. Needless to say I could only finish half. The grinder was also really fresh and good quality. Chicken cutlet tasted marinated(not just fried and greasy like many places). Finished with dessert, we sampled different cakes and ALL of them were amazing. Also good service, and friendly staff.

Have gotten food from here countless times. Tonight, we got take-out from here actually. Caesar and Greek salads are wonderful. The pizza has the type of crust you want to eat, not throw away. We got a large with pineapple and a large with pepperoni. Ricotta is also another great topping of theirs. Atmosphere of the restaurant is quiet and better for an older crowd.
