We read the low scores but wanted bbq so decided to go. They were packed and we were seated quickly by very friendly employees. Waitress was awesome, friendly and knowledgeable, nor to mention fast. the saint Louis ribs wets delicious falling off the bones. Brisket, chicken and burnt ends ate all fabulous. The garlic mashed potatoes were awesome and even the pickled onions were to die for. Ask for taylor, she’s an excellent waitress. seriously though, it was very very good!

We arrived on a Saturday night around 8:30 and not busy at all, about 20 percent full. Very average. The brisket wasn’t smoked long enough and wasn’t as tender as it should have been. My wife had the St. Louis style ribs… average too, not enough time in the smoker either. Sides were average as well, potato salad dry. On a positive side ambiance was good as was the service. Probably won’t be back.

I love Famous Daves BBQ, and the food was great, but the service was terrible. We were 2 of 6 people in the whole place on a Monday at 2pm and the one waitress would vanish for long periods of time. Took her 25min to take our order after bringing us drinks. And she did the same to the other 4 guests across the way!

Oh my lord. Just the best food. Their cornbread muffin were«okay,» but everything else was just superb. Just writing about how awesome their BBQ is, is making me hungry.

My third visit here I brought my kids along. We all ordered the Brisket Tacos which were fabulous and delicious! If you love a good BBQ, give it a try!

Went last Saturday to try out some bbq with my sister. Waitress was inattentive — she made awkward and borderline rude and snide comments about our order — the feast for two. There were two of us. Can’t get a drink refill to save our lives, or water. The empty restaurant in a busy shopping center at noon on a Saturday should have tipped us off.

Good BBQ at a decent price. The country roasted chicken was good, but I remember it being better last time. The beans were tasty and I’d definitely get them again. They also went well with the cornbread. The best thing was the brisket. It was extremely well done(quality, not cook). So tender, it fell apart and tasted fantastic.

Best BBQ in town getting seated seemed to be a challenge tonight but the food made up for it

They do have good happy hour, and that’s the only time I’ve been here. They have great chicken wings and your typical draft beer. Every day they have a different happy hour special. For a decent price you’ll get some good bar food and drinks. I think the atmosphere is fun and enjoy sitting at the bar. The service has always been good, and during the weekdays it’s a nice place to chill out in the evenings.

Had the Dave’s sassy BBQ salad with the brisket and it was very good! I ordered it with a side of ranch and blue cheese instead of the honey dressing it comes with. The salad was big and the dressing was great! They have put the BBQ sauces back out on the tables for everyone to help themselves which I’m pleased to see. My server in the bar area was very friendly and did a great job. I’ll be back of course :)

I used to love coming here but recently like in the past years every time I came I felt more and more they are cutting their operation budget. They reduced on table sauce selection. Meat quality wasn’t like it used to be. Service went down somewhat as well. We were asked to wait for table for no reason. We can clearly see there were lots of open tables. Then another party came they were showed to their table right away. We ordered the baby back and there were so much charred we had to clean each pieces. These were not slightly charred they were burnt like charcoal. Looking back I should have sent it back. I’m not sure if we’ll be coming back

I was excited and thus let down. The second star is for the corn bread muffin that I really enjoyed. The burnt ends were terrible, I expected heavily marinated crispy or charred ends of a brisket instead it was cubes of thicker meat, or so I assume, as you can’t see through the incredible amount of sauce they are drenched in. Only to find them dry or tough and the only flavor is that of the sauce covering them. So the start of the meal is already poor. Followed by an order of the regular brisket, which is just about the same but with less sauce. Finding some of the pieces completely inedible does not bode well. I don’t know how this place became famous, but I wish it could find its way back to whatever it was and just be a good place to eat, this area doesn’t have enough barbecue to waste time on this place.

Joseph was the best server we have ever had at Famous Daves. The drinks were brought out immediately and the food came shortly after. We were shocked since the place was packed. Great food and Great service!

I went here yesterday for lunch with a girlfriend. Food was pretty good. Service was terrible. We took a seat in the bar, it was pretty empty in there. The waitress saw us come in and sit down, then she left. I’m not sure if she went on break but about 5 mins later another waitress saw us sitting down and finally came over to take our drink order. It was the middle of the week so I was expecting the service to be better. Honestly I probably wouldn’t choose to go back, just because of the service.

I’d not eaten at Famous Dave’s before, but my wife spoke well of it and suggested we eat there. Clearly, the place is popular; the restaurant was crowded, but we were promptly seated in a booth near the bar. Service was pleasant and attentive, and I enjoyed my pulled chicken and fries. My wife enjoyed her barbecued chicken. I wasn’t driving so I ordered a rum & Coca-cola, most of which was ice with very little rum or Coca-cola. I followed that with a Long Island iced tea, which was a more satisfying choice. This establishment is close to our home, and I can’t explain why I overlooked it but I’m glad we stopped in today.

Went here for the first time about two months ago. Nothing stands out about the service. But the food was so flavorful and the portions were huge. Which explained the pricing, it’s a little high. But damn worth it.

Had the Georgia pulled pork with the super spicy sauce, and slaw on top. Oh, and collard greens. Having lived in the d south for a decade and literally eaten my weight in bbq I have to say this place was damn good.

Beyond amazing service by Joseph, from time we walked in to wine and full dinner served was only 5 minutes! He is also beyond friendly! Full rack of baby back ribs with beans and coleslaw and two corn muffins enough for two people to share! Very kid friendly!

When I’m not making my own St. Louis ribs on my Traeger at home, I’m paying too much for them here… It’s standard BBQ faire… And it’s better than fair, especially given Portland’s general lacking for good BBQ. I’m from St. Louis, and Hubs is a native Texan, so we know good BBQ… Solid choices are the brisket, the beans and the corn muffins. Avoid the corn on the cob and mac and cheese… It’s a decent chain that has a down home brand that conflicts directly with its corporate mentality. The profits over people was most evident when I excused myself to use the ladies room… It was 30 degrees outside, and maybe 40 degrees in this restroom… The only thing worse than the cold seat was the less than 1-ply TP… I seriously couldn’t tear even a square without it falling apart… #awkward They have also recently downsized the sides… Especially so on the Togo portions…

Famous Dave’s is a solid little suburban chain BBQ joint. I have been here a dozen times over the years and most recently dropped in for lunch alone while my dogs were getting groomed across the street. The service was fast and friendly and I felt totally comfortable working on my iPad after I ate lunch(I would have left if there was a wait). I had the ribs and baked beans, not the most remarkable BBQ, but consistent and tasty.
