Sedora Laser & Skin Spa

I had originally come into this Spa because I received a gift certificate from my birthday. While I was there, I received an acne facial, microdermabrasion, as well as a chemical peel from Nancy. Nancy was incredibly knowledgable and down-​to-​earth. When I left, my skin looked red and inflamed and generally worse than it did before I came into the store. It’s understandable considering she was getting rid of all the bad underneath the surface of the skin. A week later, my skin was clearer than I have ever seen it before. (I also bought their house-​made face serum and acneworx peel pads). As I sit writing this review, I can’t wait to go back!

This was a WEIRD spa experience, and NOT in a good way! I found a coupon online for a blackhead facial. They literally had no idea what it even was when I showed up, like it was some coupon someone just made up. There was nothing special about the facial. The whole thing was unprofessional. A young girl «cleaned» my face to start and told me my pores were huge. Then the aesthetician came in (Sky was her name, I think). She was very nice but the whole thing was so BLAH.
They use this «special mask» that feels/​smells like nothing more than coconut oil and salt. I laughed when she told me people special order this stuff. I could make it at home. I use coconut oil often and am savy about natural skincare. Coconut oil is great, but can be too pore clogging for certain skin types (mine included). The salt was ALL over me. I had to go home and shower immediately after. Huge chunks of salt in my hair, all over my neck, behind my ears– and IN MY EYES! That burned. I laughed it off because I don’t like to make a scene, but seriously, salt in your eyes during a facial? Not very relaxing. The place actually isn’t relaxing at all. It’s so small, the room was REALLY crowded, and just cluttered and dirty. The girls were being so loud in the hallway. There was zero opportunity to relax here.
I was told to use castor oil on my face for moisture. The young girl who got me started insisted it was ideal for moisturizing. I commented that castor oil can be very drying to the skin, to which I was told no. If you look up how to use castor oil as a face moisturizer, you will see that it is generally always mixed with a more moisturizing oil (ie: sesame oil, olive oil, coconut oil). Those who are savy about this product know how drying it can be when used incorrectly. While it is great on it’s own in some regards, especially for hair, I would never apply it to my face on it’s own.
After my «blackhead facial» was my eyebrow wax. I specifically wanted my brows waxed, hence the waxing appointment. I can tweeze myself, but I like the smooth feeling after a wax. She just tweezed my brows for me. They looked cleaned up, but not as much as a wax. I made it clear several times I prefer the wax, but was told I didn’t need it.
I left feeling like it was a waste of money. I would never go back here and I wouldn’t recommend it to any of my friends.

I’ve been coming here for waxing for a while. I was already considering looking elsewhere because I was starting to get tired of the constant up selling to laser removal every time I came… But it was close to my house and easy and cheap. I understand it’s a business and the up sell is to their benefit, but when someone says no at least five times, maybe mark that down on their profile and stop asking.
Today I waited more than 45 min for a lip wax appointment, which should take 5 min, and they tried to talk me in to laser again while I waited. The person who was supposed to do the waxing wasn’t even there for the first 25 min and they took someone first who came in at the same time they did… And for some reason that one was taking forever.
I would have been waiting even longer, I finally just walked out after 45 min. I made an appointment at another salon on my way out the door. Happy to be done with this place.

Sedora is a great place with friendly staff. They offer great services at very reasonable prices. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly and extremely accommodating. I highly recommend it for all your skin and hair removal needs!

I’ve been going to Sedora spa for a few years now. I started their laser services using a Groupon, and being such a nervous person about places I don’t know, I was so impressed with the staff and especially the owner Nancy. She has made every one of my appointments over the past 2 years a pleasant experience, and KNOWS HER STUFF! She is able to explain clearly how the laser hair treatments work and proper instruction for after I leave.
I now have so much more confidence about my bikini area and underarms after all my treatments. I highly recommend Sedora spa to anyone and everyone!!!

Went here due to the Groupon which was a low price, so I did not complain. At regular price I would have complained. I can only speak for my experience. I would not go back. The woman who did my nails was very friendly (which is why they get two stars), but her work was blah. I too had to fix my cuticles at home and had nail polish on my cuticles and fingers. I was advised to stand in front of the fan to dry them. The woman also advised me that she did laser hair removal… I don’t believe I would return for any service.
