I am almost in tears! I have been to this location 4 times this year and have had excellent service until yesterday! After the stylist(Ki Ki) finished drying my hair, i asked for the comb. As I ran it through my hair I said«there seems to be something wrong here» pointing to the side of my head. There was an obvious gap in my hair. The stylist said it must have been the way she dried it. When I saw the back of my head, oh lord. It was much shorter than I asked for it to be. It’s not like she can put it back on so what could I do. The stubble she left me with across the back of my neck is very uncomfortable. She asked me if I wanted some hair spray and I said yes. She sprayed a tiny bit in the air over my head. I asked if I could use it and put a little at the top of my forehead. The stylist jerked the can of hair spray back and gave me a look like I had asked her to undress in public. She said«No, I will do it.» In my 51 years I have never had a stylist act like that toward me. She once more sprayed the tiniest bit. Seeing that it was useless, I gave up I decided to reserve further judgement on the cut until after I had a chance to wash it myself. MYHAIRIS A CHOPPEDUPMESS!!! Absolutely embarrassing. Worst hair cut of my life and I am serious.

This is a new location and though I shop in that center fairly often, today was the first day I noticed it. I decided to stop in and get a hair cut, which I’ve been wanting to do for awhile now. I evidently chose a really bad day. It’s probably not really fair to base a review, but it does express the problem I see in the place. I was one of the first customers of the day, and this was the kickoff for my day off so I could go shopping. The one who actually cut my hair was orienting a new employee who recently moved here from out of town. The one doing the work, did tell me that this new employee came«highly recommended.» Having said that, old employee then began to torture my hair. She was clearly trying to show off how experienced she was with this new competitor. It was quite embarrassing and in all honesty, her work wasn’t worth the small amount of money I paid. To be clear, my issue isn’t with new employee but with old employee; the one who was holding the scissors. She tells me how my hair will benefit from a particular cutting technique. Okay, well I can go with something new and I’m always a willing participant. That part went well enough, but she pulled my hair like it has ever been pulled on before. I’m sure I must have a few bald spots because I could even hear the hair ripping out of their very roots. My scalp is still sore. I’m a white woman, and my hair is beginning to turn gray. It is getting wiry and believe me when I say that I hate it. Not only that, but it’s very VERY thick which makes it difficult to manage sometimes. She told me about a such and such product and how it will help tame it down. Fine I thought, ‘let’s give it a go.’ Even after she applied it, with the exception of the hair pulling, I was still happy enough with the results. It did help, it wasn’t anything to write home about, thus I wouldn’t spend the money to buy the product, but it was okay. Yet she clearly saw her error. It wasn’t working as she had planned. Not to be outdone by my hair, the one with the mind of its own, she said she wanted to add yet another product. She scooped out this yellow, greasy, GHASTLY looking substance and I’m quite sure the expression of skepticism(okay, okay it was really more like horror) on my face was evident. I was nearing the ‘having enough’ point. She assured me that though it looked oily, it didn’t contain oil and wouldn’t leave a spot of residue in my hair. She was wrong; dead wrong. Not only was my hair oily when finished, it looked as though she had swiped vaseline through it. Did she offer to wash it? Of course not and why would she? She had to save face by pointedly telling me, in front of new employee(who was probably wondering at that moment why she had accepted a job offer here, I know I would have), that this was the look that she was going for. Um, yeah right. The painful look on new employee’s face was enough to seal it. She looked as though she wanted to pat my shoulder in pity. My day off for shopping was ruined. I had to come home and take a shower. :(Needless to say I will not return. Again, she might actually be good at cutting hair(the cut isn’t bad) and she’s not the only employee there, but clearly she was a woman in some sort of charge which is a scary thought. Showing off in front of others is just in bad taste. If you could hear how she bragged of her experience. I gave it two stars instead of just one because in all fairness, I actually like the cut. Her other skills(both social and product knowledge) are clearly lacking. Be warned: Careful if you select this place to cut/trim your hair. Granted at $ 13 a cut, it’s a frugal purchase… but do it at the end of the day… just in case.
