While working in Tucson last week, I was fortunate enough to find this fun and yummy restaurant on a very hot day. We started with the Famous Guacamole which was good, and tasted like homemade. Also, Warm Queso Blanco which was a gooey and delicious. Served in a piping hot skillet, it stayed melted until it was complete eaten. Next my friends had steak taco’s, a massive chicken burrito, and I had the Mexican Chopped Salad with steak. The server recommend it with salsa instead of salad dressing and it was the bomb! The meat was tender and well flavored and the portion was very generous. I almost forgot my favorite… The red sangria. After two pitchers, we forgot that it was surface of the sun hot, work, and the fact that we had even more work to do. Next time I’m in Tucson(hopefully in April instead of June), I will be back.

Fun place with solid pork enchiladas, chips, salsa and friendly service. Beautiful location in the foothills with beautiful staff. Our little guy had a great time!

The tacos were like an appetizer portion and were $ 14. Margaritas were good. Queso was good, but nothing special.

First time at Blanco today and we tried several items off the menu. Drinks: the white sangria was a bit heavy on the brandy but had good flavor. And, the prickly pear margarita was tart and earthy, as a drink special we found it pricey at $ 10. Appetizers: out of the entire meal we enjoyed our appetizers the most. The queso blanco was thick and creamy and had a tangy bite to it. And, the esquites were smokey, cheesy and sweet. Main dishes: the beef enchiladas were the star. They were perfectly cooked with a smokey sauce. The rice and beans served on the side weren’t as good. The rice was cold and the beans were heavily flavored with pork. The mexican chopped salad was huge! The menu description made it sound great but the flavors didn’t really mix very well. It’s hard to say what made it taste off. Overall we had great service and will return, but decided it should be for happy hour drinks, appetizers and dessert.

Consistency is the wining ticket for Fox concept. food, service… just about everything is good. Sometime great(at Wildflower). Never know Blanco’s HH is that«reasonable». Is late afternoon snack becoming a thing now? Hmmmm…

Another trendy, overpriced restaurant from the Fox group. Ho hum. The margaritas were good — $ 10 and at least they make sure you are getting your full pour of tequila. Chips and salsa were good and I am glad I filled up on them because I nearly choked on my margarita when my $ 12 carnitas tacos came out. Two words: TEENY. TINY. Was this advertised? I don’t remember, the print on the menu was rather small. The rice tastes like it was cooked in chicken broth, not bad but it tasted like those Wyler’s chicken broth cubes. It was a family lunch and the restaurant was someone else’s choice. My uncle had a burrito which looked decent and my daughters each had salads and those were pretty good. None of those were teeny tiny like my baby tacos. Interestingly the prices of their meals were about the same as my me yet practically double or more in size! I don’t have anything against street tacos, I just think $ 12 for 6 tablespoons of pork and chicken broth rice is not a good value. Guess the rent is pretty in that part of town lol So maybe this place wouldn’t be so bad for happy hour? The margaritas were good.

So this review thus far is only for their happy hour. But after going, I sure am a fan! Atmosphere: I love the trendy indoor feel and the beautiful upscale feeling to their patio. It is all around a place that is to my style. A great place to come and relax! Food: Their tacos are pretty small for the price. Good, I just wouldn’t go for them unless you like to eat very little for a lot of price. Their nachos or tortas are a better bang for your buck, but so far my favorite is the quesadilla or the trio of dips. The guacamole and queso are very very good! Plus big fan that they use cilantro so well in everything. That is pretty much the flavor of my life! Drink: Very easy to drink up the classic margarita(on the rocks)! That was my favorite! I also had a sip of the white peach and hibiscus which was a nice sweet twist. Their blanco sangria was also tasty! Pretty decent drinks for the price! Muy buena hora feliz!

Blanco is somewhere you go when you want to feel cool and hip. It’s super trendy and it’s at La Encantada, so you are already cool and hip just by arriving there. It was packed yesterday and this was about 1ish. When you go here it has a vacation feel to it so no matter what time of day, it’s 5 o’clock and time for a cocktail. The food is good and service is good. I’ve only ever sat at the bar when I’ve come here and at times the bartender does seem overwhelmed. But it’s not a big deal. Just take in the sights. For lunch yesterday I had the steak salad. The steak was really good and juicy and they didn’t skimp on the steak either which is nice. They also use the good lettuce and not the generic iceberg stuff. The salad was also full of corn, black beans, and avocado. It was fresh and was very flavorful. I would certainly order it again. This is a fun place to hang out for the afternoon and let the day roll by and pretend that you are on vacation on some island far away. I highly recommend. The End.

On a recent trip to my family and I decided we would visit Blanco’s. I found out about this restaurant because it was advertise in the magazine in our hotel. We visited this place on a Sunday night and there was a small crowd. There was no wait. We opted to sit out on the patio for some fresh Tucson air. I ordered the the following and this is how I rated them: 1. 3 taco combo(carnitas, shrimp and asada) Not great or good. Just Meh 2. Steak quesadilla Lacking cheese and flavor 3. Taquitos(asada) —(not on the menu) The best plate or anything else served. 4. Kids quesadilla (lacking cheese) despite being a large plate 5. Chips /salsa YUMMY DRINKS 1. Cuervo Margarite– to sweet 2. Micha– lada was lacking ALL flavor 3. Corona– can’t go wrong In all the food seemed reasonably priced hadn’t of been good. But unfortunately it was not and I considered it a waste of money.

We just love going to Happy Hours and we come here pretty often. The prices are sooooo cheap and the food is pretty good as well. We opted to sit outside because this place gets rocking early and gets real noisy inside. The staff is spot on good. Had a couple of super duper tacos, poor boy torta and a White Sangria. Get this all for $ 14.00 bucks. I love the atmosphere here as well as the beautiful shopping center you are in. It’s like a trip to paradise The chips are always my gold standard and these were crispy, warm and dry. The salsa had a slight kick to it which made it great. You can also order on Happy Hour some other dips, like bean, pico de gio and guac.

The guacamole and drinks were great, as well as the blanco queso. The cheese almost tasted like Alfredo sauce which was odd but delicious. The rest of our meal wasn’t so great. The atmosphere is really modern and fun. We had a great time.

i was really happy with this spot — reminds me of so-cal with all the outdoor seating and open floor to ceiling windows and the chill atmosphere! obviously in the more hip part of tucson — we came here for dinner and to watch the duke-unc game, which turned very quickly into watching the arizona game while sipping ALL the margaritas. their margaritas though, are spot on! they give you fresh chips and salsa as soon as you’re seated — a great touch! we got the guac to share — great portion and excellent taste for $ 9. i was in total fatass mode, so i ordered the nachos with short rib for my entrée — it was ENORMOUS. good amount of cheese and beans, not a lot of short rib, but im not complaining because i was so full anyways! my colleague got the vegetarian cheese crisp — basically flatbread pizza with cheese crust. he enjoyed it. but.the margaritas! so yummy! i tried the seasonal pineapple/coconut and was so pleased. colleague had the mango jalapeño and was happy with that as well. i’d totes come back — but there are really good restaurants in that area!

Called at the last minute on a Friday night and Blanco was able to accommodate a party of 9. It was my daughters 21st birthday, so we were thrilled. During our wait, our server, Mychaela, studded out with drinks, chips and salsa in quick fashion and kept us updated on our table. Luckily, we got a table in her section and all I can say is that she was the best waitress we ever had. Got the order right, was always smiling, kept us updated on everything and was just a pure delight. Food was outstanding, service was A+ and the birthday party was a success. Highly recommend this restaurant as a place to dine. Thanks, Mychaela, for a fantastic job!

Ugh, I love this place. When you are brought the chips and salsa, for the love of God order the queso. Its amazing. Also, the margaritas are fantastic. And don’t get me started on those BBQ pork tacos. If you come in the evening, the view of Tucson is phenomenal. Just love.

Yum yum yum! I’ve been to this place a handful of times and have never been disappointed. Their guacamole and chips are some of the best in my opinion. Ive gotten everything from the tacos to the quesadilla and enjoyed it each time! I would suggest getting a mix of the street tacos and trying a bit of everything :)

We were looking for a Mexican restaurant and chose this one and we definitely had a good time. Our server was awesome as was the feel of the restaurant. Liked it a lot for sure. My only complaint was the size of the tacos. They are small 2 bite tacos compared to the usual hand sized tacos I think most people are used to. Other than that I have nothing bad to say and more importantly the taste of the food is excellent for sure along with exceptional servers!

We came here for my friends birthday and for having 30 needy people in our party, our server was on top of refilling our chips and salsa and drinks. Our margaritas took a little bit of time but it could be due to the large party. The jalapeño mango marg was delicious and had a nice spicy kick! The blood orange margarita was overly sweet and didn’t have much of the blood orange flavor that I was expecting. The mushroom cheese crisp was a must try! It wasn’t as crispy as I expected a cheese crisp to be but they really load it up! The salsa was not very spicy but if you ask for he spicy salsa and mix the two it’s perfect. Overall a bit overpriced but friendly staff.

The restaurant is located in La Encantada on the upper level. They don’t take reservations except for parties of 8 or more so you may encounter a crowd and a wait. They do have a patio area that, in the winter, is enclosed and has heaters. The inside of the restaurant includes a bar and can be a bit noisy but was tolerable. The margarita was good. The chips were good and the salsa was particularly tasty. We started with a cheese crisp that was ok. I had the slow-cooked bar-b-q pork tacos that were tasted very good. We all enjoyed our meal. The service throughout was good most of the time though it took awhile to get a water refill.

Since we live in the complete opposite(basically) state as AZ, we always come here when we’re in town for a visit from WA! This was a staple for me while I was at the U of A, whenever family came in town or we needed an upscale margarita, we headed here. And now that my cousin is a freshman, the tradition continues! They hand squeeze their juice for the margaritas, as almost everyone has commented on. They are fantastic. I love the white peach and blood orange ones, although the classic is also perfection. We typically have some small plates(vs a large meal), and the only thing we haven’t enjoyed was the ceviche that ended up tasting really fishy, wasn’t served cold enough, and made us worry about if the fish would get us sick or not. Other than that we are super satisfied customers!

I just tried blanco for the first time! It was a really neat restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. I tried the Caesar salad with shrimp which was delicious. The shrimp was fresh and was cooked perfectly! The salad also had sweet corn which was an interesting addition. I also tried the chicken enchilada which was also delicious. They were served in a small skillet with the tortillas stacked on top of each other which was different! We also got great service! They hostesses greeted us immediately and our server Bri was great!

What an amazing find. The food is fresh. The service is spot on. You cannot go wrong here. Blanco is a west coast style Mexican joint with a flare of openness. The joint patio/dining area is well thought out. Décor is refreshing. Food… Exceptional. I finally found a place that uses Mahimahi for their fish tacos! Seriously folks, grouper is NOT a good choice, hence other taco joints. The black beans and rice, great. Again, everything is fresh. Come relax and enjoy the outdoor breeze!

Wonderful food! We are visiting Tucson for a couple of days and trying to get as much Mexican food as possible. Blanco was our second stop this trip and even better than the restaurant we tried the night before. We went early, 4 pm, because we are still on Eastern Standard Time. It wasn’t crowded, but it wasn’t empty at that time of day either. Even with the few people there, it was quite loud inside so we chose to eat outside on the patio. Very windy, but the wind cooled things off and there was plenty of shade from the late afternoon sun. I got the carne asada tacos on homemade corn tortillas and they were absolutely divine. My husband got some fresh guacamole and said it was some of the best he has eaten, but not the best. We didn’t get any drinks, but I understand they have fabulous margaritas. Most, if not all, of the servers are students at Univ of Arizona and very cheerful and helpful. Great experience.

I’ve been here several times, and it has always been a great experience. The restaurant is kind of on the smaller side but they can do large parties. I’ve been there for birthdays with groups of up to 20 people. The overall atmosphere is really nice though, especially the patio area. And the service is wonderful! The food always comes out fast. As far as food goes, I would highly recommend the nachos. They’re huge so I would suggest splitting them with someone, but they’re really good. Their fish tacos are also pretty good. Their tacos don’t stand out against other restaurants in my opinion, but they’re still really great! They also have a great happy hour menu.

A cute patio for outside dining. We didn’t take advantage of it when I went because it was much to hot outside. The food here is pretty good, but on the pricy side for what you get. However, the margaritas come in a variety of flavor sand are worth every penny!

FAVORITE!!! Yes, this is «upscale» Mexican food, BUT I love it!!! I could use a little less spicy and greasy mexican food in my life. The views on the patio are breath taking, you can see the city, A «Mountain», and everything else. The inside is done tastefully as well. The service is friendly, fast, and professional. Most of the service staff are college students, *SOLEAVEEXTRATIPS. The food is divine! AND the Margaritas(ohhh slap me) they are soooo good! The crab and shrimp ceviche are fresh and tasty, pair this with the chips, and salsa, you are seriously undoing a belt loop before the entrees arrive. I have tried all the tacos, you can’t go wrong any choice you make is going to be great! My favorite which is hard to choose are the grilled fish tacos. Everything taste fresh, and just all around great!

It’s been a couple years since my first review and I’m happy to report that Blanco’s is just as good as before! Now that we are vegan, we are limited what we can order on the menu but the wait staff are awesome about making accommodations for us. Angel, the manager, consistently works the room to make sure everything is going well. Every server we have ever had has been amazing! Kudos to Angel for hiring great people!!! While this is not your traditional Mexican food restaurant, the food quality is top notch! I still think they have the best margarita’s in Tucson! The drinks are a good size for a good price. The view is fantastic so a great place for a date!

Great for happy hour! Their food is tasty but totally not authentic, but I liked it anyways. We ordered a variety of drinks and tacos after happy hour menu and they also give you chips and salsa. The sauce is actually really good! The tacos were really tiny but the meat and toppings were very flavorful! I would order those again. If you’re starving and want a lot of food you will probably need to order off of the regular menu because the happy hour food portions are very small. Drinks were tasty and semi-strong. I don’t like when drinks are tooooo sweet so the waiter was very helpful in helping me decide what drink to get. I ended up getting a mango lime daiquiri, blended, which was very delicious and not too sweet at all. Their happy hour is from 4 to 6PM and by the end of that time the place was totally packed! I really like the ambience as well with a gorgeous view of the landscape desert below. I would come back here for happy hour or just for dinner and drinks.
