After being insulted by one local bike shop telling me that my older 21 speed Schwinn wasn’t worth a tune-up, we luckily discovered Craycroft Cycles, who took my good old bicycle in, adjusted the shifting mechanism to suit my arthritic hands, then also tuned the gears on my husband’s bike, all for $ 20.00. Finally, a bike shop that understands that not all cyclers are lycra-bound and in need of $ 80.00 tune-ups. Thanks, guys

Surprised to see the negative reviews regarding the Groupon/Living Social tune-up coupon. I had an excellent experience with my Groupon tune-up. I took my 1970’s Schwinn road bike in because it was having trouble shifting and braking. They put new cables on, greased everything up and made all of the chrome shine like new. I’ve been riding it for three months and haven’t had a single complaint. In addition to proving a good service they were also quite friendly. I have no idea of the details surrounding the negative reviews but I will say that some of the newer bikes out there are cheaply made and no amount of tuning up will make them ride like a quality bike. The folks in this shop definitely seem like they know what they’re doing.

Buyer beware. I purchased a Living Social tune up for this shop. The bike was riding perfectly before I took it in. They replaced all the cables along with the tune up and I had nothing but problems afterwards. It did not shift right when it was under load. I took it back three times to have it adjusted and they could never get it right. A few days after the last attempt the rear derailer fell off while riding. The resulting accident damaged it and the chain and both had to be replaced by another shop. The new shop, Ben’s Bikes, discovered that Craycroft Cycles had put the bottom bracket on backwards when they did the tune up. It cost me almost $ 100 to repair the damages that Craycroft Cycles had done. I give it one star because there is not an option for a lower rating.

Bought the groupon. Horrible tune-up. Actually a de-tune up. These guys are crooks.

I saw the coupon for these guys on Groupon and it seemed like a steal, $ 39 for an elite tune-up so I bought it. I did NOT get a tune up. My bike wasn’t wiped down, my tire pressure wasn’t right, I asked what they had done to the bike and got, «derailer adjustment and brakes are good,» which was what I asked them to check… So they didn’t do anything else!!! The description included so much more!!! Not trying to be hard on them but to have a deal like this and a business there is no customer service, they’re not professional and you should spend your money elsewhere. I will not be back. Do not come here its not worth it.

My son bought his first bike with his own money from here, a $ 400 Purple Kink. We’ve had a few troubles with the bike but Craycroft Cycles has been nothing but helpful in getting everything working the way it should. Great customer service is hard to find and a joy to find.
