Dairy Queen

This is a great stop after hiking on Mt Lemmon! I took my daughter and our dog in for a post hike treat, did you know they have doggy sundaes! Dude they totally do! A little dog bone on top and everything! I was not aware of that and was expecting a funny look when I asked for a small bowl of ice cream for my dog.
The apple tart thing is to die for! And the staff is great, super friendly and conversational. I think this is the best location in Tucson!

Least friendly workers ever… No greeting, had to repeat a very simple order multiple times… Took ages to make, then the order was just put down with no comment and the server took the next order while I was still at the front of the line. Our friend just ordered… Took about ten min for the next order of three plain cones. Both workers look like their puppy died

I am so annoyed. How can you be annoyed after Dairy Queen, you ask? I frequently visit the DQ near my house, also on Tanque Verde (near Sabino Canyon), and they are SO MUCH BETTER. I went through the drive through, and they only have one window open. Aside from the fact that there were only 3 people in front of me and I had to wait 20 minutes. I contemplated leaving and going to the other DQ near my house, but figured I had already waited at least 10 minutes so I would finish waiting. I got to the drive through and see a sticker that says «Allergies? We cannot guarantee that this location is allergy friendly» I visited the other DQ location where they gave me a menu with allergy lists and so I could have something that would suit my allergies. Annoyed, but still wanting my ice-​cream I ordered a large, dipped cone in a cup. They hand me my cup of ice cream which is about ½ of the size from the other location, and then they poured out the «excess» from my the chocolate dip, which surprised me. I asked the kid at the window, «This is the large? It’s much smaller than at other locations» and he said that was «standard» then I asked for my card back and he said «Sorry our machine takes a while.» I consider myself an understanding person, but this seemed ridiculous. After such a long wait, and seeing only 2 customers in the store, this was just unreasonable. I will never visit this location again.

This is my favorite Dairy Queen in Tucson. How could it be any different than any of the others, you ask? Because at this DQ, what would be a large everywhere else is a medium. Amazing.
The staff is always super friendly. The store is clean. The drive through is well lit.
