The only good thing at this restaurant was the pico de gallo. Other than that, everything was absolutely terrible. It was dirty, they were out of rice, the chips were empty, and my quesadilla was made with 2 empty sections. Empty. And when we asked them to fix it, the cook tried to argue that it was just because they were the edges. When they did finally fix it, there was little flavor — much like the guacamole and beans.
If you really want Taco Tote, make the trip out to Wilmont.

Pretty tasty. We had the stake. I’ve had better Mexican food. I do love the salsa bar. All kids of goodies in it. It was good for a once and a while. Not sure the next time we’ll come back.

OMG, talked about ghetto in the most stereotypical sense. Compared to the one on Wilmot, this place should deserve no star at all. The cashier was obviously a fraud, she lied about the promotion that they are running (combo plate for 6.99) and would not be honest with us. I told her i was at the other store and the promotion was running on all 3 taco tote locations and no coupon is needed. she refused and wouldn’t not do anything about it. The place is dirty, the salsa bar is not well maintained, the chips are super hard and tasted over cooked and left in the warmer overnight. I can see why other stores got more stars and better reviews. I guess the mexicans are afraid to put down negative reviews.
I am doing everyone a favor, DO NOT GO to the valencia one, I wish people warned others about this type of shameful business practice.

Damn good, the taco’s were amazing. The beans, rice, and different salsa’s to pick made the tacos perfect for many different food lovers.

El Tacotototototeeeee!!!, love this place!, but it’s not for everyone so it’ll be a hit or miss depending on your expectations.
Pros: The Tacos are pretty good in size, I get the Shrimp tacos and 1 is enough for me if you include all the fixings you can get at the salsa bar, fresh chips, and did I mention the salsa bar?, the have pickled onions, carrots, radishes amongst a variety of salsas and they’re all pretty decent!, the shrimp taco is really tasty.
Cons: you gotta get up to get your plate, the restroom needs a code, the turf tacos are tasteless (at least for me), the shrimp tacos take awhile so if you’re in a hurry you’re better off getting something else, since everyone is behind the counter don’t expect anyone to check on you, this location doesn’t have the digital fountain drink machine others have, if you can live with that, the experience will be worth it.

They kept me on hold for the longest time and never came back on the phone to take my order. I could just hear everything going on in the background, didn’t even bother to use a real phone hold. Jerks. I just wanted some tacos to go.

Mediocre at best. The meat was sporadically seasoned, but the seasoned parts were delicious! Very tender and moist. Not a bad place by any means, just nothing great. Good prices, and free all you can eat chips and salsa. Salsa bar was decent.

I’ve been coming to this place for years now-I’m kind of a regular here. Here’s what I’ve learned over the years:
–this place is cheap. For less than $ 4, you can get a taco and eat unlimited amounts of chips and salsa and cucumber slices with lime from their salsa bar.
–their chips are amazing. I believe they make their chips from their fresh corn tortillas-​they fry them a little longer giving them a beautiful brown color and crisp, then they top them off with salt-​delicious!
–if you’re going to get a combo meal-​skip the beans and rice. The beans have consistently been too salty for me to eat and the rice is hit or miss. Get one of the meals with the big baked potato.
I wouldn’t say this place is really ghetto or dirty based on former reviews. It’s always been clean for me. The worst part might be that it’s in the same shopping center as a pawnshop, but I don’t mind the people or staff.

Love the food the location is ghetto and they are not on top of things, kindly messy and trashed. Just because it’s on the south side does not mean its ok to let things go and not clean up! The other location is a lot nicer I perfect going to that one.

Great food but terrible service. I scheduled a meeting with my team. I arrived a few minutes before everyone else and needed to use the restroom which have combination locks to access. I asked one of the staff for the combo but was told the combo was on my receipt. I then explained that I had not ordered yet and was waiting for the rest of my group before ordering. I was told I could probably use the restrooms next door which I did and also held my meeting there too! Not bad Chinese food frankly. Won’t be holding any more meetings at el Taco Tote for sure!
