This place is awesome! I didn’t buy anything today as I’m not quite ready. The staff was super friendly and they had an amazing selection. I will definitely be back when it’s time to buy. It’s an awesome place just to walk around.

I’ve gotten several herbs and succulents from the Magic Garden, and I’ve loved them all! They have a great selection of all sorts of plants, you might not guess from the front of the building just how beautiful the actual store is. Everything I’ve bought has grown really well, and the staff had always been helpful and polite with giving advice and suggestions.

What wonderful customer service. My parents live in Tucson, so for a Mother’s Day gift, I though a nice basket would be great. However, I’m in WA State. Called Magic Garden, via Google search. A pleasant young man helped me(I apologize for not remembering his name). Not being from there he advise me on the type of plant to get. I asked if they can deliver and he told me that they do not deliver on weekends. However, sensing my disappointment he put me on hold and spoke with someone. A few minutes later, not only did they say yes on the delivery, but they found my mother a beautiful basket.(see pic). So today Sunday, Marianna made that delivery and my mother totally loved it. The folks at Magic Garden went out their way to make us super happy customers. I’m definitely going to purchase from them again. This is what a business should be. Thank you Magic Gardens. If you’re wondering, my dad has a bad back and my mother no longer drives.

I’ve had mixed experiences with Magic but mostly positive. Once a worker was scolded in front of me by management for something seemingly trivial. I felt this was a little on the unprofessional side. You don’t need to talk down to people or attempt to make them feel stupid especially in front of customers. On the other hand one of the younger workers was extremely nice and helpful the last time I visited. The blonde woman is always cheerful and makes visiting a pleasant experience. Their prices are pretty average if not on the cheaper side compared to the other nurseries. They have a relatively large selection and they have an absolutely beautiful koi pond.

After years of hauling my kids to Skate Country across the street, I finally had a reason to stop in here. I was there for only 1 reason: to buy Mexican-style pots, so I didn’t look at their plant selection(it seemed pretty huge, just glancing around). After looking at 5 other places(2 other nurseries, 2 big boxes, 1 Mexican theme place), this was the place for me. I ended up getting 6 medium/small Mexican-style pots and 6 plastic water trays for about $ 90. Staff was nice and helpful — I interacted with 3 of them during my search and purchase.

I have to give this place the good review they deserve. We recently moved to a house where the previous owner had let most of the landscaping go to ruin and we cleaned out tons of brush which left me with a lot of open space to deal with. Our landscaper handed me a list of plants based on what I thought I liked and sent me to Magic Garden. I thought I was good to go until I walked into the place and froze with all the choices and not knowing anything about the plants on my list. Tony helped us on our first visit and was really patient and knowledgeable. He didn’t mind that we were just looking for ideas and not buying that day. He even pointed us to a great book on native Arizonan plants that helped us immeasurably. We planned everything out and went back to buy the dozen or so plants on the list and again got great service from a woman who normally works in the back office, but she too was knowledgeable and even helped pull my cart around the grounds. Their prices are really reasonable and all the plants we got are of very good quality. I found a lot of herbs there that I hadn’t found in other nurseries and I’m psyched about my Aristotle basil. We still have two more planting stages to do over the next few months and I’ll be heading to the green building once more. FYI, I think they’re really tired of talking about the former pinkness of the building. I guess there was some dissent amongst the shoppers.

Yes, the formerly pink building is a decidedly bold lime green and the signage is easily missed when cruising far west on 22nd. I re-discovered the Magic Garden after the mysterious and disappointing demise of my favorite nursery. I am always searching for green things that are non-standard(living next door to a landscape architect has upped my gardening ante to dizzying heights). Magic Gardens has by far the best selection of aromatic herbs I’ve seen in tucson, including several types of mint, thyme, Mexican oregano, basil, roux, lemon, lime, and even St. John’s wort. I bought a large healthy red macaroni pepper plant with several nearly ripe danglers for $ 4. Considering that peppers are over $ 1 apiece at the grocery store, this is a great deal. The knowledgeable staff is anxious to help and all of the plants are thriving. The apricot lisanthus is a rare towering annual that was the prize of that trip and cost this thrifty gardener all of $ 5. Get em while they’re green!

I’m a little disappointed that the building is no longer pink. There was something intriguing about an entire building painted pink. After all, that was why I visited my first time. Who can resist checking out a place brave enough to occupy a pink building? The best thing about this place is the staff. They really know gardening and are willing to give advice. Real advice. The kind you can put to use in your own backyard. Plus it’s not crazy busy so you can actually find someone to help you without standing around until you’ve wilted in the sun. They don’t have as big a selection as some of the competition, but their product is good quality. This is my go-to place for vegetable gardening. They are actually passionate about gardening, It’s not just a job. For this I give five stars.
