Ruiz Masonry and Building Supply, was hired by the General CONtractor for the construction of a new house. This is one of the worst masonry jobs that I or anybody else that knows about masonry has ever seen. The ROC inspector even commented. At the last count there were approximately 20 places around the house that have cracks in the block. No control /Expansion Joints were implemented in the construction. At one of the locations where there are cracks, 6 of the blocks are cracked vertically. There are several places where there are inconsistencies in the texture and color of the mortar. There are hundreds of cracks in the mortar at the end of several of the blocks going up vertically. There are several mortar joints that are out of code specifications. One of the columns was not attached to the house and the gap gets larger from the bottom up. Many of the blocks are crooked and when they were cut, the altered blocks are not square. The places where 2 walls meet at a 90 degree angle do not have the blocks placed properly and instead have a wide out of code motar joint When I called and questioned Rudy Ruiz Jr. about the type of Mortar that was used. The owner Rudy Ruiz Jr., did not have a clue. I happened to have pictures where the type was clearly marked on the bags. I filed a complaint with the ROC against Ruiz and his company which is still on going and pending.
