Great guys and great food. Had a Hawaiian dog, Chile relleno dog, and a fancy quesadiila and highly recommend all three!

This is definitely one of those secret treats in Tucson, which is really growing in its food truck community. I had a hot dog that came with a slice of bacon, it was thick and not greasy. The dogs are big and filling. I would definitely eat here again. They also take Amex and will sit outside the Tap and Bottle, which makes for a really great meal.

Let me start this brief review by saying that the four-star rating I’m assigning to Blacktop Grill is only due to the fact that I’ve eaten there one time and shared only one dish, so I can’t fully commit to a higher rating as of yet. However, having only eaten one thing(did I mention I had to share it?!), I do know that Blacktop Grill deserves the attention from any and all food truck enthusiasts in the area. Track this food cart down wherever it’s available(I found it at Tap + Bottle) and try something – ANYTHING. I had the Naan Flatbread and the biggest takeaway I had after eating it was how fresh all the ingredients tasted. I’ll be interested to try their hot dogs and other offerings next time I go, which hopefully won’t be too long.

These guys are new to the food truck/food cart scene, but they’re definitely a welcome addition. I’ve yet to come across a hot dog cart that offers Hawaiian and Italian-style hot dogs in addition to a more traditional(to Tucson, anyway) Sonoran-style hot dog, for instance. And while their price point might average higher than their Sonoran contemporaries, in my opinion, they’re worth it. It’s hard to gripe over an extra 50 cents when the food is so tasty :) The owners of the cart(Gabe and Alejandro) are both stand-up guys, and they’ll routinely engage you in friendly conversation as they’re cooking up your food. Being that they’re also still less than a month into business, they’re very much accepting of feedback from their customers, a rare thing to be found in the food-service world. Think their Mexican hot dog could be spicier? Let them know, and there’s a good chance they’ll do a test-run of your suggestion. That’s passion for business AND customer-service in action, and I commend them for it. Next time you’re in the Park/4th St. area during the week, be sure to give them a try.
