Terrific beer and service! After walking the shops along 4th street recommend a stop here for a quality craft beer and delicious wings! All of the IPA styles are fantastic. I’m partial to the Good Vibrations. The bartender is super helpful and the brunch menu looked great and the folks around me seem to really enjoy it Bottom line — my new favorite Arizona brewery! And yes, I did buy a tshirt Not a beer drinker– no worries, they have a full bar and the Bloody Mary’s were very appetizing Will be back and hope to see you there…

The beer was nothing special and the food matched the beer. The reason I gave two stars and not one is because service was good and the atmosphere is nice. I would go back for happy hour and drink beer from other breweries that they offer on tap. That selection is very good.

Okay I still love this place. You should totally sign up for your birthday and they send you a $ 15 free birthday coupon and you can spend it on food or beer or both or just beer. And the beer… the beer is so good! I had a GREAT birthday experience here in December with a wonderful waitress who was friendly and talked about beers and brought free samples and was just totally involved. She went above and beyond. And she got tipped accordingly. And then on another night, I came and met co-workers here. And another waitress seemed annoyed by my presence and anyone else who joined our table. At one point, she was gone for so long we had to ask other staff for help. I know these are isolated events, but hey, this is what Unilocal reviewing is about. I did make notation of this waitress on my little card that you fill out at the end and tipped accordingly(it takes a lot to tick me off, seriously). Still, love this brewery. Kind of sad they put pool tables in and knocked out some booths. I don’t feel like this is a bar for playing pool, but that’s what you do I guess.

Beer was better than the food. Burmeister burger was pretty meh, nothing real special and had an awful bland watery slice of tomato on it. Good location would like to give these guys 3.5.

Their Mac and cheese with veggies is so cheesy and delicious! It comes with a small side salad — Kevin had a few local brews and loved it!

I love come here for happy hour, the deals are unbeatable. Half off appetizers for good portioned bar food wins me over all the time. Not a place for the health conscious though, lots of fried food. The mushroom Caesar wrap is really delicious though! The service is generally okay, not the best but they get the job done and bar drinks come out pretty quick too. Large selection of beers too, a lot of which are local. Don’t be too turned off by the hostesses, they are not very friendly or accommodating.

I think this is one of my favorite happy hour spots in Tucson. Also a great place to watch a game! They have half priced apps and really cheap drinks and beer at happy hour! They brew their own beer as well and I just love the orange you glad beer! I get it every time I’m there. They also have great appetizers. My favorite is the tcb dip which is a creamy cheesy artichoke dip. It’s amazing every time and comes in a bread bowl and with a large plate of veggie to dip. They also have great nachos, wings, and deep fried mushrooms. I haven’t really had the meals there because I usually get appetizers as my meal. The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because the service can be hit or miss. The hostesses have always been rude to us when arrive and are very unaccommodating. When we told them we had 2 more people on they way they purposely gave us a smaller table. I’ve had some great servers and some not so great servers here as well.

I am surprised at how consistently good this place is. I’ve been several times and enjoyed it each visit. Good beer, above par pub fare, and generally good service at a great downtown location that is just off the busy beaten path. Plan on making TCB a regular!

Pretty average overall. The location is pretty good, right downtown. The service was good but a bit slow. The brewery large and open but kinda boring. Our group of four ordered two full sets of tasters of all the beers they make and had on tap. I didn’t really dislike any of them but I was also not really impressed by anything either. I usually judge based on if I would like to order a full pint of anything, and I did not. We also ordered food and once again, nothing was bad but it also wasn’t great. I had the Buenodillas and it was actually pretty flavorless.

Nice place, waitress really friendly and the beer good. But the food. not really. One person at my table ordered the fish and chips(«freshly battered») when the food arrived it was frozen breaded fish, not good at all. Good place for watch a game and drink a beer.

So much YES! Definitely a great spot that I will go back to soon in downtown Tucson. Boyfriend and I double dated with close friends to this place Saturday night at 6 pm. The beer selection is great! I ordered the Black Cherry Ale and it was delicious(I love my fruity beers). By the recommendation of our server, I ordered the Monsoon Philly style(cheese sauce, bell peppers) and substituted the steak with chicken and got a side of fries. It was AMAZING. That is all. Just go there and order it. You’ll be happy. Mm cheese sauce.

Thunder Canyon is always a wise choice when it comes to relatively cheap beer and appetizers. They have weekday specials where all apps are half price, making them around $ 4 – 5 and all house beers are around $ 5 or less. In my opinion, they also had the best deal on the Tucson Summer Card for half off all drafts any time with the card. That quality of the food and beer itself is not the best of the breweries in Tucson. Actually, I don’t think I have found a brewery with a kitchen yet that I think has more than mediocre food here. The good thing about the beers though is the variety. There are between 5 and 10 house beers on tap and they even have other local brews and a full bar.

My previous review stands, but in reviewing what it takes to get 5 stars I feel now Thunder Canyon deserves 4, which is still very good. The parking is a real problem in this area and it affects more than this business.

My coworkers and I flew into Tuscon for a few days and figured the best place to stop for dinner on the first night would be the downtown brewpub. This turned out to be an excellent decision. I started with the home-brewed Amber which was one of the best Ambers I’ve ever had, which is saying a lot since that’s usually my go-to beer. For an appetizer I got a half order of brew house pretzels with the TCB sauce based on a picture I saw on Unilocal.Holy crap that sauce was amazing. That was by far the best part of the meal. For dinner I had the Sabino pasta which was pretty decent. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was exactly what I would expect for a local brewery. This seems like it would be a great place to come with a group or to watch a game. I’m looking forward to returning here the next time I’m in Tuscon.

This is a review of Thunder Canyon in regards to serving large groups. When you check-in to a place on Unilocal, one of the questions the app asks you is if the place is good for groups. This is a question we quickly answer, sometimes without really knowing the answer. However, from experience, I can say this brewery restaurant is a great place for a group to meet. I invited a large group to happy hour at Thunder Canyon downtown and it went really well. With a large group(between 20 – 30 people) we were able to make a reservation for happy hour, for 6pm on a Thursday. We were even able to all sit at one large table. I didn’t think that would be possible. They were able to give separate checks to everyone, and that was very important to us. Thunder Canyon has a large food menu so there are plenty of options to choose from. They have their own beers, but they also have other beers. They have a full-bar and cocktail menu. Of course, soda is an option, and everyone at the table was given a nice big glass of water. The variety makes it possible for everyone to be happy. Everyone came in at slightly different time and everyone’s order was taken as they arrived. People were able to add to their order. We had just one server for the group, but the wait for food and drinks was never too long. He kept coming back to the table and asking everyone if they needed anything. This is a great place to have a large group. The servers can handle it. The menu is large and everyone will be able to find something they like. I would have another large group meeting here, and I would recommend it to other groups.

They have a great selection of craft beers and wonderful root beer. Food is pretty good too. We also bought beer in a growler to take home.

I really really want to like this place, because for years I frequented the Foothills Mall Location and the downtown spot is a short walk from my house, the restaurant is gigantic, with some great social couch type seating in front. It has a very industrial feel to it and the décor fits in with the new renaissance of downtown. I went with a friend and her son for dinner last night. Service was prompt so no complaints there. Two of us had a couple glasses of their homemade rootbeer. I was particularly impressed because I remember traveling to Florida every spring break(from Indiana), and stopping at rootbeer places like A&W or Dog n Suds for food and delicious cold homemade rootbeer. My dining compatriots had a couple sandwiches, one was the BLAT which the teenager devoured. Not sure what the other sandwich was. I ordered the steak special, rare(I always order steak like this). Rare does not mean the steak should be served cold. It also doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be cooked. Something happened because I had 3 bites and sent it back. Our server was great about it, didn’t cause a fuss and took it off the bill, which he didn’t have to but was appreciated. Unfortunately when I got home 10 minutes later I was sick to my stomach. I’m not sure if it was the steak, but it looks very suspicious. I might come back, but I would most likely never eat their food again.

Bloody Mary for 3 dollars was nice. Plus it tasted pretty good. The problem is the burger had no flavor and it wasn’t cooked the way I wanted it(medium vs well done). Service was overly friendly, which I won’t count against them. The main problem is I ordered a bacon cheese burger and there was no bacon, at the end of the meal I told the waiter, but I was still charged full price.

Solid pub style foods and some great beers. If you are in the mood for some good local beer and some good food, give this place a try. I love their stouts and their reds. For food, any of their burgers are a safe bet, the nachos are epic, the sabino pasta is tasty, fish and chips are surprisingly good(I don’t like seafood), and you can’t go wrong with either their steaks or their sausage plates. They have a few TVs and play a handful of different channels so it is a nice place to relax at, have a beer, and watch a game.

Just outside all of the chaos of downtown, this place is laid back and low key. A pretty good beer selection. Mostly favoring their house brand, but they still offer some other brews. The food is typical bar food, but a more interesting twist. The place is always empty enough where you can find a table, but not so empty that is feel dead energetically. A good staple just outside of Congress
