Being from the bay area in CA, my wife and I are pretty picky when it comes to our Banh Mi. We have been craving it for a while now and this place was the highest rated on Unilocal. We decided to stop by the on our way to the zoo and were very happy with our experience. We were greeted very warmly and he happily gave us his recommendations on the menu. I went with tofu and my wife went with the chicken option along with some thai tea. I can say that we were pleasantly surprised with how good it was and was very happy with the price. I would definitely recommend it. This will now be our go-to place whenever we are craving some banh mi.

We found this place at a community food truck event and had a great dinner! The boba with iced coffee was absolutely delicious. The amount of ice was bordering on too much, but it really tasted like Vietnamese coffee(my favorite). Yum. Based on other Unilocal recommendations, I went with #4 Banh Mi Dat Biet sandwich. The bread was nice and crusty and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I especially liked how the meal didn’t give me a really heavy feeling that comes from sandwiches that have too much bread, too much sauce, etc… This had a great balance of everything. Best of all, it comes split into two and is only $ 5. What a steal! Kudos to this food truck!

I occasionally stop by here for lunch after class and am never disappointed. I usually get the shrimp pad thai or garlic shrimp sandwich. The food is always fresh and the owner is very friendly.

If you are looking for banh mi in Tucson, this is where you wanna go. Delicious. Amazing bread with the perfect amount of crunch+softness. Sandwiches are simple, clean, and yummy. Also a super nice owner. Maybe not as cheap or as gritty/greasy as you’ll find in California but since I can’t drive 8h on a whim this is where I will happily go.

Best Vietnamese sandwiches in town. I recommend the shaking beef or lemongrass chicken sandwiches. The owner is super friendly. All around great experiences every time I visit.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for awhile now, but the food here is absolutely amazing! Fairly priced and a lot of food. The bread they use is so good and fresh! We met the owner of the food truck who even gave us some water bottles on the house! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Stupidly good. I frequently stop by here to get their banh mi, which is a sandwich that is vastly underrepresented here in Tucson. No, it’s not going to be as good or as cheap as places in LA or SF, but come on! The guy that owns this place is really sweet, makes a good sandwich, and is right there on Broadway on a stretch of road that has a mediocre Taco Shop and a Carl’s Jr. within a mile drive. Seriously, stop here, if he’s open.

2016 promises to be a tasty year at Vina Baguette. The Vietnamese Special Sandwich is true to its name.

This food truck have been on my «To Try» list for a while now. I was downtown on second Saturday and was starving! I decided to embrace the day and check the food trucks selection. I saw Vina Baugette and was excited to finally give it a whirl. I have always known they had a Lemon Grass Tofu Sandwich, but I don’t really eat bread. Much to my delight, I saw they have a Lemon Grass Tofu Salad. I ordered and it came out quickly and with a smile. A large bed of lettuce, with crisp vegetables, lemongrass tofu and a spicy and sweet dressing was exactly what I needed! I’m sure that next time I Drive by Vina Baugette on Broadway, I will be stopping in for another salad. 5 stars!

OMG I have to update this review asap! I have since had the dac biet bahn mi and it was so freakin delicious. I liked this 10 x more than the lemongrass chicken. I highly recommend trying the dac biet sandwich if you like Vietnamese cold cut meats. And at only $ 5 for a nearly foot-long sandwich, this is a great deal. The bread had been variable, but the last several times have been perfect –chewy and crusty but not too hard or dry. I have gotten the bubble tea a couple of times –it’s so-so. Would never come here just for the tea, but I like that the option is there as it goes great with the sandwiches. And as always, you will never see a frown when you come visit this food truck. Only high spirits and wide smiles. This is my favorite lunch spot now when I am on my way to South Tucson for work.

I kept hearing how great Bahn Mi sandwiches are so was happy when I came across this place. DELICIOUS! The veggies were amazing and fresh and I couldn’t get enough of this goodness! I also had the Thai Tea which really was refreshing. I’m definitely going to become a regular because it was so tasty. Finally, the owner is just awesome… so nice. Feel like I found a real gem!

Slowly becoming addicted to this place. I live in the opposite corner of town from this food truck, but if I happen to be near the area and need something to eat, I don’t hesitate coming here. I think the prices have been going up slowly, but at this point it’s still worth it. You can’t beat the bread used. It’s heavenly soft, with a light crust on the outside. Sandwiches with this kind of bread are few and far in between. Sandwich fillings are fresh, and so so good. And the owner of the truck is just about the friendliest man you could meet in this sort of business. He’s always striking up conversation, has a smile on his face, and the last time I was here he offered to bring my order to my car so I wouldn’t be out(it was 105 that day). I do wish he could move his truck closer to mid-town!

Just returned from California where I thought I would experience the best Banh Mi sandwich but No ! Good ol’ Tucson has the most flavorful Banh Mi I’ve ever tasted. By staying small,(look hard for it set 200 yards south of B’way Blvd immediately west of Cherry in shadow of red roofed package store) this wonderful vendor ensures peak quality every day and won’t sell you a sandwich if it doesn’t meet his standards. And he includes alot more vegetables than they do in California. Both he and his sandwiches will become your friends. Text your order in to save a few minutes. 270‑7779.

First off let me start with the fact this is Tucson, Az… not Cali nor any other location you can imagine. Vina Baguette serves amazing food but is also owned by one of the friendliest and kindest human beings you’ll have the pleasure to meet. Mr L’s objective isn’t money its customer satisfaction and a belly full of delicious food. Don’t be afraid to ask for more or less of something, this isn’t a corporate run fast food joint. I usually order a chicken sandwich with the Vietnamese iced coffee aka rocket fuel and my gf loves the pork sandwich with a Thai boba milk tea. Also check their facebook for locations since they do move from their usual spot on cherry.

It’s been over a year since my very first review for Vina, which also happened to be my first review, ever. The Bahn Mi beef(#1 on the menu), is quite possibly the greatest thing in a bun in this town. I think the sandwich has grown a bit, almost reaching 1 foot total, and with it the price a tad, but it’s well worth it. It’s too bad I don’t live closer, or at least make the effort to eat this more. It’s really guilt free eating for me, due to the freshness of the veggies.

The guy who owns this food truck is very friendly and will come out and chat with you if he doesn’t have orders to tend to. The service is friendly and the food is great. I was disappointed when Tucson’s brick-and-mortar Vietnamese sandwich shop closed several years back, but this truck fills that void like a champion. My only wish is that you could order extra cilantro for your sandwiches. I don’t care – charge me another buck for it. I’m a cilantro junkie.(I suppose I could just ask for extra cilantro, but I don’t like to mooch off a small business like this.)

Good place to quickly satisfy your Vietnamese sandwich craving but not my favorite, the boba is excellent. It’s nice to have a Vietnamese food truck, a change from the options in Tucson.

a vietnamese sandwich FOODTRUCK that i wouldn’t have expected to find at the food truck round up! didn’t think these vietnamese sandwiches were anything special but at least the ingredients were noticeably FRESH –#1 shaken beef: the bread isn’t the crusty baguette i’m used to i guess when the options are slim in Tucson, you don’t have much of a choice

The bread. The BREAD. You guys, their bread is excellent. You know what else is Wayne-approved, totally excellent? The service. The folks who own this truck are friendly and unassuming. This review is quick and to the point. And that’s what you’ll get here: great food(the bread, omg), great people.

What a lunch truck gem. There was a lunch truck round up at Cartel last month, and immediately this was the place, I couldn’t get enough of. My husband and I both ordered the Banh Mi Dat Biet sandwich(which includes: pork, ham, pâté, butter, cucumber, daikon, cilantro and jalapeño) and it was so fresh and clean tasting, on a fresh roll. It’s been so long since I’ve enjoyed a Vietnamese sandwich, that I was blown away. It had a nice kick to finish the sandwich due to those few jalapeños tucked inside. Despite having many other lunch trucks tempting us to spend our dollars, we ended up ordered a second sandwich to go, for breakfast the next day! The biggest surprise is that it was only $ 3.75. What a deal.
