Get the Bianco pizza and you won’t regret it. Your partner/significant other might regret the crazy amount of garlic you’ve just consumed but you won’t. This pizza is amazingly divine. The white sauce tastes amazing but then you add in the garlic and all that cheese and, suddenly, it’s heaven on a slice. The prices are a little high but the Bianco is definitely worth the price.

I have been back several times now, and it has been solid. My house is too far away for delivery, but it is worth driving a few miles to eat in. Again, that pepperoni! The edges curl up and get crisped to perfection. Love this place. And it is in the UPromise network, so I am eating pizza to pay down my student loan debt. Brilliant!

We have only ordered delivery from Vito’s and have been pleased every time. It seems they are always out of something, once it was a delivery driver, another time bacon and the latest time wings but even so you should give them a try. Their sandwiches are enormous! The turkey club is delicious piled high with turkey and topped with bacon, avocado and red onion get it toasted it’s even better. We have tried their wings which are good and spinach salad also good. The other remarkable item is their torpedos. Mozzarella, sauce and meat rolled in a pasta ‘burrito’ the sausage or meatball ones are very good. We have yet to try the pizza so not sure how great that is but we’re happy with everything else we’ve had.

It’s Friday evening and my wife and I arrive around 6:00 and wait for my daughter, who is meeting us there. When we arrive, there is only one other table occupied. It’s kind of a small space and menus are on the table so we sit down thinking that someone will take our order. We are informed that you order at the counter. We look over the menu while waiting for my daughter to arrive. Just then a group of at least ten people walk through the door. Now that we know we have to order at the counter, I immediately head for the counter, knowing if I get behind this group, we will be waiting forever. I order a large pizza with two toppings and an order of «pizza pops», which turned out to be, basically, a stromboli cut into four pieces. Since I am paying up front, I go ahead and order two beers for myself. I order a glass of wine for my wife and a soda for my daughter. I am handed both beers and the cup for soda and told they will bring out the wine. Remember that group that came in? It’s now maybe fifteen strong all waiting to order. You can only imagine what happens next. After ten minutes… still no glass of wine. I sift through the crowd, some still waiting to order, and ask about the wine. Not sure if it was because he was rattled or he was making up for forgetting, but he poured the biggest glass of wine I have ever seen in a restaurant. It had to be well over half a bottle. Geez… I should have had the glass of wine for $ 4.75 rather than two beers for $ 3.50 apiece. The food arrives shortly after that. The pizza pops are very good. They are served with a side of sauce that was not really needed. The pizza was also very good, thin crust with the right amount of sauce, toppings and gooey(that’s my daughter’s description) cheese. They actually got upgraded after I left the place because I thought the leftover pizza(a snack later that night) was better than when fresh. I ordered a slice of cheesecake later, which the guy said he would bring out and, again, forgot. I went up to the counter and asked for it to go. This place very nearly gets five stars for the food. I have to knock them down somewhat for service. I am not crazy about the order-at-the-counter format. Maybe they ought to think about table service. It may help them become a five-star experience.

I was surprised by the quality of the pizza at this joint! Its a little greasy but I don’t think excessively so… what’s NY pizza without some running down your hand people? I love the sliced meatballs on the pizza… they are delicious! Staff have always been friendly and funny when I have been there. They are fast and attentive to questions and concerns.

Vitos has some good pizza, that is for sure. I like the interior design of the establishment as well. This pizza hold it’s own against some of the better know independent pizza places in town. I think that this is currently my favorite pizza place in Tucson.

Great customer service. After making the wrong type of pizza, the business admitted fault and not only made us the correct pizza quickly, but gave us the incorrect one for free, too! The pizza is very greasy, but it’s still delicious. It depends on the type of pizza you order, too. Pepperoni is very guilty of having excess oily bits. Naughty pepperoni! I enjoy the greasy aspect because it allows me to have a pizza-grease-challenge whenever I get it. I take my piece of pizza, hold it a couple inches above my paper plate and allow it to drip for a minute or two. I like to compare the amount of oil that falls off of each piece. After I have fully entertained myself with that, I simply dab the leftover oil with a paper towel. I use a lot of paper products when eating pizza. I believe everyone should. Oh yes, I will go back.

Oh Vito’s…you have a new convert. Vito’s is in the neighborhood and perfect for a rainy, I don’t want to cook kind of night. It’s decorated tastefully with a couple of big screens on the wall, a few tables and booths and is really well lit. It’s not very large either so you get the chance to watch the happenings in the kitchen. We checked over the menu and opted for a large ‘build your own’ pizza — meatballs, salami, roasted garlic and fresh basil. There are quite a few options besides pizza — sandwiches, salads and pastas — all of which sounded quite good. The pizza was unbelievable — perfectly cooked, no grease at all. I love thin crust pizza so I was in heaven. The sauce was delicious and not overwhelming at all, either. We were the only folks in but I could tell they were doing a lot of delivery — free delivery at that! Yes — to me it was the perfect pizza. Ordering a large was a good idea — we have more for tomorrow! Vito’s will be giving the other local names a run for their money.

I first went to Vito’s in the middle of January. They hadn’t been open long but I missed the old Fresco that used to be in this building so I stopped by to see how it was. I ordered just a 12″ Margherita pizza to go, thinking«How hard could it be to screw up basil, tomato and cheese?». Apparently, not as hard as I thought. The pizza itself had sort of a greasy mouth feel even though the majority of the pizza didn’t appear to be greasy. The tomatoes were just thin-sliced, weak, pale fast food-type tomatoes, and the basil wasn’t especially flavorful. Somehow those tomatoes ended up seeming a bit slimy. I ate like two pieces of the pizza and threw the rest away. Jump forward about two months. I thought I’d give Vito’s another shot tonight since they’d been open a while. I also got take out this time, a 12″ Vito’s Special pizza(Pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, mushroom, onion and olive) and a side Caesar salad. I didn’t notice until I got the food home that they had charged me for and given me a full-size salad. Typical chopped romaine lettuce, crappy packaged croutons and no Parmesan cheese to speak of, even though the menu description for this salad includes Parmesan cheese. The dressing was on the side and was a lot thinner than I would expect for Caesar dressing. It seemed more like a regular Italian dressing. The pizza itself looked pretty promising. It wasn’t until I picked up a piece that I noticed the disgusting abundance of grease in the box under the entire pizza. The pizza was built so that the toppings went on first, and a thick layer of cheese was on top of everything. This might have been okay if the cheese wasn’t slightly overcooked, which caused the cheese layer to be pulled off the top after taking a bite, and the toppings to fall out of either side of the slice. I could not get past the greasy underside of the crust. I actually had to put a paper towel down on my plate first to sop it all up. This pool of grease under the pizza was sort of a mystery to me, as the meat toppings(pepperoni and sausage) didn’t seem to be overly greasy on their own. Ate a bit of the pizza and some of the boring-ass salad and the rest of it went into the trash. Vito’s, I gave you a second chance. There will be no third.

It was nearing midnight and I needed to feed some hungry buddies before they hit the road for the night, as well as The Man, because he had skipped dinner. My first choice, Brooklyn, had already stopped their delivery for the night. Bummed, I remembered that a new place just opened in my neighborhood. I was lucky enough to call 10 minutes before they closed. Since they are only a mile or so from my house, the driver agreed to do a delivery on his way home. Score! The 18 inch pizza was huge and easily fed everyone. We got the Vito’s Special and all the toppings were there. It was nothing memorable. The crust was dry and flavorless. That bummed me out as that does not say«New York Style» to me. The cheese was pretty good though. The price… well it is certainly not the cheapest. The 18 inch set us back about $ 25. Ouch. I have to compare it to Brooklyn Pizza which is cheaper and better, but terribly unreliable. Delivery often takes upwards of an hour and a half with them. I will probably give Vito’s another shot because they are in my hood, but I really think the prices are inflated for the quality.
