I chose them because of the great reviews on Unilocal. But my after using their service, my assessment is that they will do the work you need but are overpriced. You can get whatever you need done cheaper.

I got a prompt estimate directly from the owner of the company to trim a large tree in my yard. He and his crew were out and did an awesome job! Very professional and courteous. I have nothing but good things to say about them and would use them again without hesitation. Thanks for such wonderful service!

I’m not sure what the hell it is about the tree service people around Visalia, but getting them to look at a just one residential tree — as opposed to a walnut orchard — is akin to pulling teeth. Gee, I guess that some jobs ARE too small. In our case, we had a 40 year old tree that was about three stories high and 30 inches across. One heavy limb had cracked in the middle of the night, drooping down dangerously and would be falling soon. We just didn’t know when. With our luck, it would be when we had company over. We called seven local tree service companies, including one we had used in the past. Only three of them agreed to show up. The guy we worked with before(who did a fabulous job) quoted us $ 1125 for the job — without stump removal. Another one quoted $ 1000 without coming out for the quote. One guy quoted after inspection, $ 300. Jacob inspected, and quoted $ 800 without stump removal. We weren’t sure about the $ 300 guy, but Jacob voluntarily displayed his contractor’s license and proof of insurance, so we went with him, scheduling the takedown for three days later. Jacob is kind of a down-home, laid back kind of guy who knows his craft, and his crew, pretty well. For those of you that don’t know, you don’t take down a tree in a residential area like a lumberjack: face cut, back cut, TIMBERRRR! — no, you have to strategically whack off the crown a little at a time and drop the trimmed limbs away from grandma’s garden and the neighbor’s pool, etc. Jacob’s crew showed up earlier than they promised(good thing I was prepared), and for seven guys, had pretty good working chemistry. They spent a lot of time in making sure that they had the right tools, in the right places — at the time they needed it, and keeping out of the way of an accident. I watched and learned. They spent about three and a half hours; an hour longer than planned. The main cutter guy even took out a small dying peach tree I had on the other side of the yard(I had not mentioned this little tree when Jacob came out to quote). Almost everything was raked up/chipped up and removed by the crew. I spoke with Jacob later to tell him how satisfied I was and he said that he’d pass the word on. All in all, I thought we did a fair deal. Peace of mind restored.
