The food and the service was very enjoyable. We ordered a queso appetizer which came out quickly and was very good. I then had the steak and cheese burrito. It was huge and fresh. My boyfriend had a burrito himself that he really enjoyed.

Pros: Out of the way place where we were sure not to run into any coworkers. Decent margaritas and they don’t stint you on the tequila. OK food. Cheap. Good service(my needs were met, but they weren’t hovering). Never had fajitas with tomatoes before, but I liked it. Cons: Not exactly a whole in the wall, but dangerously close. Limited vegetarian options(I’m not one, but my friend and her husband are.) My friend could pick from 2 things off this menu. She ended up with the fajita vegetables.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The food at el tequila is great. Cheap tex mex and fast service. However at this location the waitress tipped herself on my behalf when I used my debit card to pay. I left a cash tip on the table but I guess she felt she deserved more. When calling and visiting the restaurant multiple times to speak to a manager I was told they were not there. I gave up trying to get my money back and will never visit this location again.

Good food! We usually get the Chimichangas to go and they’re pretty good. My only complaint is the person taking the orders over the phone doesn’t have the best phone skills. We seem to have to repeat ourselves a lot and our order has been been slightly off a few times because of it.

Thank god I found this place… I just moved out here and never heard of that Tex-Mex BS until landing in Tulsa. This reminds me of the middle of no where shack Mexican restaurants that I am used to as far as the food is concerned. I could eat at this place every day and not get sick of it. The food quality is extremely consistent and of course I always get a few margaritas to pair. You can’t go wrong with their Pollo con Queso(with Chorizo of course!!!) or Monster Steak Burrito. And by the way… Queso is white cheese. A co-worker referred me to Ted’s because they give free«cheese dip» with your meal. Cheese dip is white, not that orange crap that taste like it came out of a Tostitos jar. Also… don’t forget the Tres Leches cake(or 3 Milk Cake for your non Spanish speakers…). Their Tres Leches is awesome even if it is kind of Americanized with peaches in it and fruit on the side. An entrée for me, my wife, 2 margaritas, and a piece of Tres Leches is usually around $ 40-$ 45. We leave satisfied every time.

I used to be a big fan of this El Tequila, but my last two experiences haven’t been good. A few months ago when we went, there was a line waiting for tables. They didn’t have any real system for seating people, however. They would give us all numbers, but then forget what number they were on when they came back. That time, I ordered the cheese enchiladas and was really disappointed. Instead of being good smooth queso, it was hard melted cheese inside. We decided to give it another go and tried again this past weekend. The chips, which are usually good, were stale. While we had decent service, I was disappointed with my food again. The chicken enchilada was decent. I wasn’t a fan of the chicken quesadilla. And the chile relleno left a lot to be desired. I’ll probably only eat here again if a friend insists on doing so.

This is me and my husbands favorite place for Mexican food in Tulsa. ANDMARGARITAS. Let me just start by saying if you want to drink a good, cheap margarita, this is the place! You get a big, top shelf margarita pitcher for $ 15. Enough for you and your dinner date to each have 2 ½ drinks. Can’t beat it! Anyways, we also looove the food. It’s ALL good. My favorite is the spicy shrimp. On top of all that, the service is always great and they are so friendly. Highly recommend!

I’m vegetarian and they were left scraping their head as to what I could eat. Finally I settled on nachos(seemed safe enough!). What came out looked like something worse than you’d get at the movie theater… Chips with just cheese all over them, melted into one glob! After showing some online images of what nachos should like, the final result was acceptable.

I absolutely loveeee this place! The chips and salsa are the best I’ve had, and the el tequila bowl is to die for. Their fajitas and monster burrito is very delicious as well. Waiters are friendly and service was great!

This place is one of the best Texmex places in Tulsa. They are always fast to seat you and bring you a pitcher of margaritas! This restaurant cooks fresh food with great service.

Bathrooms had layers of dust everywhere & the lock on door didn’t even work. Had to remind server several times for tortillas, cheese, refill… basically everything. Not impressed.

After reading the previous reviews. I figured that I’d try it. My favorite type of food is Mexican. So maybe my standards are too high. Salsa was bland the Regrind beans had no flavor. I ordered the carnitas tacos. It looked pretty good when I received it. Looked better than it tasted. Burnt. Dry. And again no flavor. Food 1⁄5 stars. Margarita 4⁄5 stars. I’ll only be back if I want something to drink. Disappointed.

I can’t believe this place doesn’t have 5 stars! It’s hands-down the best Mexican food in Tulsa. As much as I love going to places like Los Cabos in Jenks for a higher-end hangout atmosphere with friends, I love El Tequila for TASTE! Pros — Their white queso is the BEST! You can’t find better elsewhere in the area… and if you do, please let me know because nothing beats theirs! — Classic Mexican food with great taste; traditional salsa, rice, beans, homemade tortillas, non-limey guacamole(the only way to go!), and medium crunchy chips(not too thick, not too thin). It’s exactly what you would expect and nothing«fancy» or off the wall like places that try to create non-traditional Mexican meals to be special. — PLUS they have other entrees that are amazing. I like to get the El Guapo which is grilled chicken with grilled pineapple and cheese/spinach sauce on top. SOGOOD! — They offer a large variety of margaritas plus mojitos, wine, and more! — Ample parking — Reasonable prices(average entrée is $ 8!) Cons — As with most Mexican places, the service is VERY fast, so if you want to take your time at the restaurant, definitely take your time ordering appetizers, drinks, and meals separately. — They don’t have Cabernet(I know, it’s a Mexican place, not a steakhouse), but they have a house Merlot that I actually like! — No outdoor patio Overall Love, love, love this place! 3 meals, one appetizer, and one glass of wine was delicious and only $ 35. :)

Quick, good size servings. It was perfect for a quick stop off the expressway on a long drive across country. Servers were friendly. Typical Mexican food, but week worth the stop.

Really good food that came to the table quickly. The shrimp tasted like it had come fresh off of the grill. For two people to eat cost us 21.00 which is a lot less than most places I have been to for just as good of quality.

Authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price, their margaritas are so good. Also their hand made tortillas are really good. Service is really fast and very friendly staff. My favorite is the American steak which is rib-eye really good. Another of my favorites is camarones ala diabla.
