We recently bought a house full of new carpet from Booska’s, in 4 different colors. The price was highly competitive with the other local options. Dennis, the owner, was quite informative when he came over to do the estimate and assured us that there was no reason to carpet a spare room that had very little wear. There were no hidden fees or unpleasant surprises. No pressure to buy more expensive carpet. We were given a date and time and the installers showed up on the dot. They did a fine job. We moved a lot of the furniture ourselves, but worked them moving the larger pieces into the price. They were very gracious about helping us put back together a very confusing bed frame. We bought PET carpet which is made of recycled materials. The price was far less than what a local competitor pitched us as their least expensive choice. There was much more color choice. The quality of the padding was better than what was in our house when we bought it new. It’s too soon to know how well this new stuff will wear, but for now we feel we got our money’s worth. Putting in new carpet is pretty traumatic as you have to move everything out of the rooms. But now that it’s done we are enjoying how nice the house looks and feels. If you have big holes or gaps in your subflooring as we did, pull up the carpet and patch them before the installers come. They will patch small stuff but don’t have time for a significant repair. We fixed a big issue before they came and let them deal with a few small ones. Our home is an upscale modular, hence the issues.
