Was my go-to bar for many years in college and post college, recently moved to north AL. Good drinks, great service, big spacious rooms and large bar to sit at and watch sports or talk to Bear, one of the better bartenders(bald and heavy-set). Darts, pool, Internet juke box outside seating/patio and friendly folks. Not a lot of annoying under-grads here. Only draw back is that you will definitely smell like you’ve been in a smokey bar. Smelled my clothes the next day and they wreak. A little divey, also. However, would recommend DTP to any one! It’s a great place to hang out and have a great drink. «Where old friends gather, and new ones meet» is definitely not just a cheesy slogan, it’s true!

With all the douchey bars in town populated with douchey people, the Downtown Pub is a peaceful respite. The bartenders are great, there’s plenty of seating, pool tables in the back, a projection screen for sporting events and an internet jukebox up front. The music is usually kept to a moderate level so it’s easy to have a conversation without straining your ears or shouting over bar noise, which seems to be a rarity in this town. Downtown Pub is the perfect place to hit after work with a few friends, though it can be a very smoky environment. They even offer a snack table on some evenings with a nice assortment to choose from. If you’re looking for a place to chill out and have a beer, this is the place to go.

A consistent bar. A little divey, but honestly that almost every bar in Tuscaloosa. It has a unique design and nice knocks that seat from 4 – 6 people. One big knock in the middle that could sit up to 20! Pool tables in the back, cheap beer specials and an internet jukebox
