I believe El Camino is the most authentic Mexican café in Tustin so far. The food tastes homemade without being overly greasy or sloppy. I was so impressed. It tastes like home, but with some very interesting add-ons. I stopped by with my coworkers and we each got something different. We had high hopes coming in and they definitely exceeded our expectations. We will be coming back with more friends, lol! It’s worth checking out!

The seating space here is pretty limited but the food is amazing and worth a few minutes of waiting to snag some seats. I just wouldn’t recommend it for more than 2 – 4 people. I had the Huevos Divorciados, which came with beans, rice and tortillas. I’m not big on garlic, and the salsa did have quite a bit of garlic, but it was somehow so delicious! I’d definitely go again. The horchata with espresso was amazing and the orange juice is fresh. Coming from LA, I loved the free parking and that the servers had a genuine smile on their face.

Very delicious and flavorful breakfast dishes, we ordered green chilaquiles with chicken and huevos rancheros… so so so good, I forgot to mentioned that you cant missed café de la olla and horchata latte made by Allan and his brother Alex! Well done guys!

I’ve had breakfast here numerous times and haven’t ever been disappointed. The huevos rancheros are spicy, crunchy, and most importantly flavorful. Breakfast burritos are on point, I am mostly vegetarian so I couldn’t tell you about the carne or chorizo. The horchata espresso is amazing. The cashiers are friendly and it’s obviously a family owned business. I’m not«baffled» by anything here and prices are pretty fair for what you get. Alertos is down the street if you want to throw up and be sober, eat here instead and feel good!

Went here on Sunday morning for breakfast. The husband and I both had the chilaquiles(one red and one green). It’s hard to find sauce that has been properly seasoned and doesn’t need extra hot sauce and these were them! Each one was delicious. Also the rice and beans weren’t greasy or full or lard; which is always a plus. The place is small and you order at the counter so make sure you have an idea of what you want ahead of time so you don’t have to panic order. It was pretty busy, but we were able to find seating outside. We will be back.

This place sort of baffles me. The food is okay. The coffee is crap. The line is out the door. Is there something I’m missing? Apparently. Because by the looks of other reviews on here it seems that Tustinites enjoy this place. But they also enjoy a bunch of other mediocre offerings so it can’t be saying much. This place got off to a bad start. I asked if their beans and/or rice were vegetarian the guy didn’t know(which is pretty understandable), so another employee chimed in that both are not. Then the other employee starts laughing at me for being vegetarian. Apparently dietary restrictions are a joke? Or maybe it’s a joke that before changing my diet I was sick sort of all the time? More than likely though, it was just a «masculinity» thing. It’s 2016 — get a grip. But oh well. Such are twenty-something middle class dudes from Orange County. Then we get the food. And it was okay. Honestly, nothing special. But the problem is that we paid quite a large sum of money for 3 potato taquitos that were just okay. Oh and some lettuce because with the beans having lard and the rice having chicken broth they offered a salad in their stead. I’m down to have a $ 9 lunch or whatever it was, but at least make it decent. Sorry El Camino, but I’m not interested in your halfway decent food or your employees making fun of my dietary choices. Professionalism and quality are what I look for in food establishments, and they sure weren’t found here.

El Camino Café is definitely one of the top restaurants that i would recommend for anybody visiting Old Town Tustin. The ambiance is super cute and cozy. It offers a vibe of a coffee shop feel, but with delicious brunch food. The furniture and decoration of this place has a little cute vintage appeal to it that brings Old Town Tustin to life and I love that! When you first walk in, you place your order with the cashier and he will hand you a cute Spanish playing card that will place as your table number. As much as I love the decoration and set up of the place, I also love the food! From the sound of it on Unilocal, they look like they’re famous for their Asada Chilaquiles, so I had to try it! All the ingredients used in the entire dish tasted so fresh and flavorful. The homemade chips in my chilaquiles were still super crispy, the asada was very tender and flavorful, and the beans were amazingly soft and smooth. I also had to try their infamous horchata coffee and it was pretty good. I was hesitant at first because horchata and coffee sounded weird together but it went together pretty well. Parking seems rough but it really isn’t. There is a gravel parking lot right across the restaurant and plenty of street parking! Enjoy!

A great neighborhood find for breakfast when you’re really craving a breakfast burrito. It happens. In my attempt to find some good breakfast in the area, I was wooed by the horchata and coffee pictures on Unilocal. It’s a nice little restaurant with a limited menu which makes it easy to order. The seating outside is nice to see downtown Tustin. We ordered a Carne asada torte, which was a bit average. The steak was great and highly recommended by the staff, but it was a bit underwhelming for its size and $ 8 price. It was small. We also ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon, which was filling and delicious especially with the salsa. Not too much cheese and the beans and rice were. But, if anything, go for the horchata and coffee. It’s unique and really good.

Great place for a breakfast! I came here with the hubs and his parents on a Sunday morning and we got there right before the it got crowded(around 9:00am). It got the meat scramble and it was really good. It was full of meat(bacon and ham) and came with a side of rice, beans and tortillas. While I didn’t get it on this trip, the Hortchata Espresso looks amazing and definitely want to try it the next time we go. Service was quick and attentive. The staff said they didn’t typically serve decaf coffee but managed to find some for my in-laws. The patio seems to be dog friendly so bring your pup along!

Was craving for Huevos Rancheros so Unilocaled this place and I was not disappointed at all. It is very easy to locate, Google Map takes you right to the location. If it is too busy then finding a parking can be little tough but there is enough street parking available around the block. We were able to find a spot right across from the street on a Saturday morning. As soon as you enter, its a cute little place with artsy décor. I loved the ambiance of it and the music playing in the background just adds that perfect touch to it. Everyone working there is so sweet and all of them had a smile on their face. It truly felt like they really enjoy working with each other and at the café. One of the lady was going there for the first time and she didn’t know what to order. She asked the gentleman that was helping her few questions: what item on the menu is something spicy yet healthy, do you carry brown sugar, what ingredients are used to make certain item on the menu, can we substitute it with something else and few others. But he was very patient through out the process and answered all of her questions with a smile. GREATCUSTOMERSERVICE! Food proportions are HUGE. Between my boyfriend and I, we ordered Huevos Divorciados, fresh chips and guacamole and espresso horchata. We were stuffed after that meal and mind you we had not ate anything since night before around 8:00 pm. The texture and the sourness/spiciness level of the guacamole was on point. I am a fan and I will indeed be coming back here.

Going to have to try other items here as well, such as their entrée breakfast dishes. I got the breakfast burrito, not as thick as other places, but still good. The eggs were not scrambled, so a a little unique. Served with a side of rice and beans, could have done without the beans. The other was a carne asada quesadilla, would have been nice to have some egg inside as well, but it was loaded with carne asada. A little less salty would have been better, since there was an ample amount of cheese as well.

This little joint is amazing. It’s within walking distance of work, so it’s easy to call for a take out and by the time I get there it’s already ready. I enjoy the nachos or chicken salad perfect for lunch time. The salsas are flavorful as well. They’re only open from 8 – 2 They young men that work there are a added bonus because they are just so handsome and sweet. I need to try their breakfast menu items next time.

Came here with my grandma and my husband. She raved about this place, so we had to stop by. The restaurant is very cute and located in the heart of the city. There was outdoor seating which was very nice. We ordered chorizo and eggs, carne asada taco plates, huevos rancheros, and flan. The tacos were perfect, meat tender and tortillas fresh. The chorizo and eggs were very flavorful and the fresh salsa gave it a nice kick. The best part was the homemade flan. One of the best flans I’ve ever had. Be sure to try the horchata/espresso drink which was delicious and a cool spin on the classic horchata. Highly recommended coming here for the great service, food, and atmosphere.

After visiting our tax person this past Saturday, I Unilocaled this place for brunch and glad that I discovered it. It’s in this cute little corner in Old Town Tustin. I half expected parking to be bad, but parking was plenty during that time along the streets. When getting there, the place was pretty full on the inside, so I sent my hubby out to get a table for us outside. I would say the whole place would fit around 24 – 30 on the inside and another 20 – 30 on the outside. Not too bad. As far as service, you go in and order, and they’ll give you a number to place on your table. Pretty straight forward. Food came pretty quickly and they pretty much left us alone. Food wise, my husband ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon, which was not bad, I ordered chilaquiles verde, which was awesome! I also really liked the horchata espresso, which was a pretty unique drink. Glad that I discovered the restaurant, will consider it in the future for brunch in the area.

Saturday morning wanted a little breakfast burrito fix. So I got the breakfast burrito with bacon. And I also ordered the breakfast torta. I have to say the torta was amazing, big pieces of ham and bacon. As for my burrito not so much bacon. It was pretty much a cheese and egg burrito. The burrito came with rice and beans which were excellent. Also very good salsa, not too hot but full of flavor you can taste the toastiness to it. I also got the horchata espresso which I did not like, I thought it was a little chalky tasting. By the way this drink was $ 4. ekkk! Great little café, but I should have ordered the chilaquiles I guess cause the burrito didn’t wow me. Maybe next time.

This is a cute little family owned Mexican café here in Old Town Tustin. The family is from Michoacan, Mexico, and the whole family works here. There are limited hours from about 8am-2pm, it’s more of a breakfast place. Order your meal at the register and take a number to your seat, indoor or outdoor seating abailable They are known for their chilaquiles and horchata specialty caffeinated beverages. These chilaquiles are different than others I’ve tried, but very tasty. More of a crunchy style tortilla chip with green sauce(verde) on top, also eggs however you like. The owners prefer over easy, but I went with the scrambled. The beans and rice were tasty. I also ordered the horchata, which was a more white color, and really yummy. I’m eager to try it as a coffee drink! Overall, cute little ambiance, friendly service, good food.

I really like this little place. First time here and chose it based on Unilocal reviews. First of all, the staff were friendly and engaging. Inside was decorated so cute with all sorts of Mexican and Dia de Los Muertos decorations. Very cozy. The bathroom was a co-ed onezie and very clean despite there being a urinal opposite the toilet. Sometimes this execution of ‘efficiency’ does not result in the best bathroom experience. From the reviews, I knew we had to try the horchata cappuccino, huevos rancheros divorciados, and the chilaquilas. The horchata cappuccino was out of this world! Glad I did not order one for myself because it was so rich and deliciously filling. I had the huevos with green and red sauce and they were amazing. I liked that they were on top of handmade chips. Oh my gosh, when the chips get soft from the sauces, lard and yolk. it feels like everything is okay in the world. The beans are absolutely amazing, not too lardy and there is a hint of heat, which was a welcome surprise. My fiancé had the chilaquilas. I was not impressed. We prefer ours to be more like mamacita makes them which means all the ingredients are more incorporated than deconstructed. This dish was layers that had not been fried together, i.e. hard chips on the bottom, green sauce, and scrambled egg on top, sprinkled with cohita. Now the way I was taught to make them results in a wetter texture and the eggs and melted jack cheese are all mixed together in a symphony of flavors. Another great feature of this café is that the portions are not gigantic. Though breakfast for 2 was $ 30… but that’s fine. I’d rather not have the gratuitous huge american style calorie bomb. Less is definitely more here.
