STAY FAR AWAY if you value you or your family members’ health. This man has absolutely RUINED the life of someone close to me with his botched surgeries. It’s one thing if he made a mistake and actually gave a shit, but he doesn’t. Do your research, there have been many suits against him, and I’m sure there will be many more. You have many options for surgeons, and Dr Johnsrude should NEVER BE considered one of them. You’ve been warned.

If I could give Dr Jeffrey Johnsrud zero stars I would!!! He is absolutely the WORST surgeon/​doctor I have ever encountered. He performed a routine surgery on my dad, and completely ruined his life. His surgery was supposed to be an outpatient surgery, quick and an easy recovery… Boy was that a lie with Johnsrud as the surgeon. My dad was admitted to the hospital where he suffered horrible complications due to a mistake performed during surgery by him.
My dad suffered excruciating pain and extreme weight loss for 9 months following this «routine and safe» surgery. He had to undergo numerous nerve block procedures, and additional surgeries to correct his mistake. The entire 10 months this doctor was rude, inconsiderate and Gave my family the run around of «it will get better». But guess what?! It didn’t get better!!!
Finally my dad went to see a doctor at cedar sinai who confirmed what we all knew… Johnsrud did a botched surgery and it needed to be corrected. Once the dr performed her surgery she was astonished at what she found on the inside… The original mesh used to hold the hernia in place was not even intact! It was found balled up in his lower abdominal cavity, causing cuts all over! The hernia was NEVER repaired, and the damage he had caused was life threatening.
This man is a horrible doctor and has ruined my dads life, forcing him into early retirement and almost killing him. If you value your loved one, or your own life… Do NOT go to him for any surgery! Do your research first.

He was my outpatient surgeon toward the end of 2008. The BUTCHER, Johnsrud cut two bile ducts which put me in excruciating pain for 10 days in ICU, (30 day St Jo stay plus 10 more at UCLA)
After a week, he took off to go surfing in Fiji. Even called from there saying, «I guess I need to come back and take my lumps.»
I was a high level executive, Johnsrud stole that from me as I’m still in pain, Gallbladder was not the cause, and on permanent disability.
Found out he lost an arbitration suit 3 mos after cutting me open.
Nice personality, but personalities don’t perform surgery, professionals do.
Thx for ruining the last 6 years of my life and causing undue strain on me and my family.

Had my gallbladder removed on ¹²⁄₃ @ 11:30, had an overnight stay at St. Joseph’s but other than that things went very well. If you need such surgery I would recommend Dr. Johnsrud very highly. Extremely helpful and courteous staff especially Sandy and Michelle. Also they have me on a diet, and on my getting healthy.
