Twain Harte Wash & Dry & Car Wash

I was not sure what to expect after reading the previous review but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Yes, this IS an older building but hey, look around, we’re in a sleepy mountain town. We’re not in the Bay Area anymore, people. What’s important to me is that the machines are well-​maintained and the place is clean. Check and check. As for «$ 30 for five loads of laundry», I found out that $ 6.00 per load applies to the Extra Large capacity washers – you know, the kind that easily fits 2 – 3 of your puffy comforters. There were smaller front-​loading washers, as well, which took just $ 2.25.
The restroom was tiny, but clean. The giant hole in the roof is no more. And the owner even came around and gave me a token for the car wash next door. :) I’m a fan and will definitely be back with my dirty laundry.

It gets multiple stars for convenience and friendly staff. However, pricing is a bit steep ($ 30 for five loads of laundry). About 25% of the machines don’t work, and the rest are outdated. There are no TV’s to watch, the vending machines are busted, and the restroom is disgusting. Also there is literally a giant hole in the roof over the washing machines, that they just have a tarp and a trash can covering. However, in a small mountain town we are lucky to have one at all, and them staying open until 9pm every day is certainly nice.
