Echo Summit(also known as Johnson Pass) is the highest point on US50 and at 7382 feet, provides a stunning and initially scary view, as one«drops» into South Lake Tahoe. Winter adds an extra element of «excitement», including a long and slow schlep UP the hill when chain controls are in effect. And whether this segment ends at Twin Bridges or Meyers, I’m personally very relieved, as I’m usually the one driving this section of the Pioneer Route of the Lincoln Highway.
