Our grandmother passed unexpectedly in North Carolina & our family found ourselves on a road trip due to flights being postponed because of a huge winter storm. Decided on Quality Inn in Tyler, Texas as it was very late & price was $ 58.50. Should have known by the dilapidated elevator it was going to go south quickly. First room was next to the noisy elevator, so we switched. Next room had a beer bottle on our patio. Our fire alarm on the ceiling was disabled. The was carpet filthy, holes in the walls, missing pictures & the patio door did not lock. Continental breakfast was awful & barely attended to, but the capper was my son looking for his toys & goofing around with his little brother while we packed up, pulled the bed cover up & exposed blood on the mattress. I just lost it & needless to say ran to the restroom. I spoke to the general manager & all she said was what room were you in? I was so sickened at the whole experience, service, standards & that I left my horrid breakfast in the toilet of our room I ran out of that hotel with my children’s hands in mine & husband close behind. We were charged regardless & not even an apology. Please pass this one by, please. One star if they begin to acknowledged their awful reviews & make HUGE changes.

ZEROSTARS!!! I only gave 1 star because there was not an option for ZERO! Do NOT stay here! Hotel is dirty and old, elevators were in very poor working condition, and the staff had a very«confused» disposition when asked questions about the condition of the hotel. The rooms had a stale odor and the hallways were very dark. You could tell most of the staff lived in the hotel. We were not made aware of remodeling in progress until we got on the elevator via a memo posted to the elevator wall. As we walked the property, we realized«remodel» was being used very loosely as an excuse for a poorly maintained property. We could tell there was absolutely no progress being made in the so called remodel. During our lengthy time at the front desk for check-in, 2 people with reservations confirmations arrived only to be told their reservations either did not exist or that the hotel was full. I’m not sure why one person was told the hotel was full because the person in front of us canceled their stay. We ended up canceling our stay as well. When a person in our party canceled their stay due to the conditions, the man at the front desk said the debit card would not be charged. However, text alerts for charges from the hotel were sent to her mobile phone while she was canceling her stay… not once but twice! When we questioned the man at the front desk why this was happening, he completely ignored the question and asked us where we were from and attempted to make small talk about his recent travel. Needless to say, frustration escalated quickly. I highly recommend lodging at hotels in the Southern section of Tyler as our stay at the Courtyard Marriott on Broadway was excellent.

We were greeted by a roach in front of our hotel room door. Also the paint is peeling and bathroom fixtures are rusty. I feel sorry for the staff. They seem very nice. Unfortunately that is not enough to make up for this disgusting, rundown hotel.

I am staying at this hotel for the night and have switched rooms since my first room smelled like a dog. My initial thoughts are that this place is dirty and run down! The carpets are filthy and stained. And just a few minutes ago, a cockroach crawled across the nightstand! Luckily I was able to kill it but now my skin is crawling thinking about more roaches! Needless to say, I will be sleeping with one eye open tonight.

This place is a little dirty but some of the rooms are okay. I had to bring my febreeze bottle in the room with me. The first room they out us in, the AC was broken and it was completely unbearable. But the lady at the front desk is super nice and let us stay in another room, that was really compline table and the AC got super cold. The hallways though have a bunch of stains on the carpets tho. Try to find a groupon or something to use if you stay here. Price isn’t worth it. There aren’t many hotels to choose from that are too luxurious around this area, so this may be the best you can get.

The hotel seemed nice enough and the staff were friendly and helpful. I must say that the room was a bit musty and had an odd smell, but you get used to it, I suppose. There’s not much choice in the way of accommodations in Tyler, so I’ll say it was a nice enough room to lay your head for the night. That said, the bed was very uncomfortable(and I’m usually not one to care about the quality of a bed); it was hard and difficult to get comfortable in(and I basically kept waking up every half hour to hour or so from the discomfort). My room had a tv, a mini-fridge and a mini-microwave, a coffee maker, an iron and ironing board, a hair dyrer etc. I did notice that the bathroom had an anti-steam mirror, which is kind of a nice touch for this level of hotel. There was also complimentary wifi and breakfast(although it was somewhat meager). For the price, I’d say they delivered quite decently(but definitely don’t expect a restful night’s sleep).
