Perfect for what I needed! Hot breakfast, clean room, nice sized refrigerator, friendly staff, safe and priced out well! Their weekly rate is $ 316 after tax, can’t beat that. Strong internet, large tv and extremely comfortable beds. Would stay here again, plus there is a Denny’s and a bar next door.

It’s rare that Unilocal fails me. However, here we are at the second hotel in 6 months that I’ve been let down. Granted, this time there was only one review for the hotel, but it was so well written and persuasive, I took the bait. I’m glad that reviewer had a pleasant experience because mine was not. Driving across the US, towing a 20 foot trailer, we decided to meet friends in Tyler and make that an overnight rest stop. In the interest of taking a break from the higher hotel cost we’ve been paying and will pay after Tyler, we thought this Super 8 sounded like a great deal. Calling for the price quote was a nightmare. A very pushy sales rep quoted me the rate for the night with our discount, then proceed to try to keep me on the line for 30 more minutes with random offer after offer. I hung up on him. Later, we checked into the hotel with no issues… so we thought. The room was clean, with very outdated décor and a boxy, old school television. No, I’m not factoring the décor into my rating, after all, it’s a $ 60 a night establishment. Taking a shower the next morning though, I realized both the no-slip mat for the tub and the bottom of the shower curtain were dirty and mildewy. Also, the drain was clogged and my shower backed up with water. The light fixture in the bathroom was FULL of dead bugs too. I know this happens, but come on, clean it out once in a while. The continental breakfast was busted. The waffle station was a mess and there was a hot water option but zero teas, and absolutely no fruit in site. I ended up getting food elsewhere. Although I will give them some credit for having a cute breakfast area(as well as a nicely decorated lobby for a Super 8). It gets worse. Since the purpose of our trip is a move, we have our dogs with us. They are kept in their kennels in our trailer, of course we take them outside to feed and walk them a couple times a day. Well some random looking guy dressed very dirty and messy kept hovering around the trailer while we fed the dogs. This went on for around 30 minutes, he said nothing but kept giving me dirty looks. Finally I asked him what his deal was. He refused to address me but began responding to my boyfriend who was ignoring him. Turned out he was either the manager or owner or something with this Super 8. He began yelling about if we weren’t staying here than, blah blah blah. I presented the room key and he continues(addressing my boyfriend still acting like I was invisible), oh well we are going to get charged for the dogs since they destroyed the room. WTH? The dogs NEVER entered the room and we tried to explain that to him, but this guy had mad attitude and a chip on his shoulder(either disliking me because I am black or a woman because he would never address me though my boyfriend was having me handle this). After this 30 minute argument, I returned to my room to finish getting ready and get the heck out of this dump when I noticed the bill and realized our discount had not been applied. Since the owner/manager guy was so rude to me, my boyfriend took the bill to the front desk to address all our issues with our stay. They had notated on our account that we had dogs sleeping the the room with us and to bill us hundreds extra for cleaning and repairs. Uummm, NOONEHADEVENBEENINTHEROOMTOCHECK! We demanded a walk through(as again our dogs never entered the room) in our presence and finally after lots of arguing the dog notation was removed from the notes and our discount was applied to bring the room total to $ 50 for the night. To be honest, it was not worth the hassle. Not one other hotel on our trip had treated us so poorly, a couple even complimented the dogs but never questioned our integrity(as far as if we lied about bringing the dogs into a room or not). I will never stay at a Super 8 again.

I have had many experiences with this hotel and it is one of the best hotels with great customer service. I am in communication so much with this hotel that The employees know me now. I book rooms for the employees at my job. They are doing a job out there and they need rooms weekly. Every time I call to get an invoice or receipt they are always professional and speak with a happy mood. They get the job done quickly and correctly. It does get frustrating when there is an error at hotels especially when it is business related. So it is a great feeling that they get everything right with no problems. The employees that stay at that hotel always tell me what a great hotel it is and that it is clean and organized. They always have something great to say about super 8. The rates are not that bad they range around $ 60 a night and they run specials when you stay longer than two nights. There have not been any complaints about the price so that’s good. And the good thing about them is that they always have rooms available and that is very convenient. I never have to worry about this hotel not having any rooms available. This is a great hotel and I recommend it to others!

I was searching the Tyler Tx area for a good motel and was looking for a low price, and I stumbled upon this place. I must say, it’s the best value I’ve ever seen on a motel. For less than $ 40, including all fees and taxes, you get a king size bed, couch with coffee table, A/C and heat, microwave, medium sized mini fridge, tv with remote, hair dryer, coffee maker with packaged coffee, complimentary FULL breakfast, free wi-fi, free newspaper, and an ice machine that actually works. To get this price, you have to book online, so don’t expect to drive up and get this rate. Staff was courteous and no problems.
