I placed an order for my son’s birthday cake last week, paid in full and I want it to make it perfect so I had some revisions. I asked her to change some colors and I called today to make the 6×10 size a little smaller because 64 servings for a small party is pretty big and while I’m on hold the lady Aida said«my god tumawag nanaman para palitan.»(My god she called again to make a change) First of all, i called once to change the red ribbon to green icing since it’s a kung fu panda theme. Second, you don’t have to say that while I’m on the phone on hold waiting for you to pull out my orders! Third! I paid $ 140 for my cake so I have the rights to make any changes I want! Remind me not to order cakes from you from now on! So rude!

This Goldilocks is located inside Island Pacific grocery store. If someone is relying on their address to find this place, it will not be obvious. They have a limited selection of food. The ones I like include binagoongan, beef caldereta, dinuguan, and pinapaitan. Their bopis and pork barbecue on a stick is also recommended. If you want palabok, I would get it at the little store by the entrance. They are much better. The prices are about the same compared to other Filipino places nearby. The place is usually clean or at least a lot cleaner looking than their neighbor Good Ah.

I would suggest in your Union City location add in your address: located inside Pacific Island Market, just a suggestion.

Ruined my moms birthday cake… Very bad customer service … Don’t expect a refund or them to redo your order if they made a mistake…

I went to this place a week before my birthday to order a cake to be customized. The lady that worked there didn’t seem to notice me at all until I had to call her over. When she finally noticed, she made me write down details about decorating the cake then I paid for it and left. When the day came for me to pick up the cake, I noticed how beautiful the design of it was but unfortunately the taste was a different story. The cake tasted very dry and the texture was almost as hard as a rock. In the end, my friends and I ended up eating the frosting on top of it and throwing away the rest. After this bad experience I definitely won’t be coming back to this place and paying $ 30 for a poorly made cake.

It has been less than a year since i came by to order one of my favorite foods, chicken adobo. Goldilocks is the first place ive tried chicken adobo and from then on i fell in love with it. That specific Goldilocks i have always gone to has now turned into a desert café so this store on dyer seemed to be the perfect replacement. The first time noticing it in Island Pacific with my gf, i immediately ordered Chicken Adobo so that my girlfriend could try what i got to experience. We ordered and within 15 minutes we got our food. Unfortunately, ever since that order, ive came back to this one store in particular about 5 days in a row and each day they disappoint me by saying its not available. They explained how they cant cook it and how its not on the menu anymore. This was in 2014 and after those five days i was convinced not to come here anymore for my favorite food. I really hope they didnt lie to me because they were too lazy to make it. they really left that impression on me. The food is good and i urge they change their service if nothing has changed since my experience.

This Goldilocks only has a few tables to sit at & lots of selection for food. You’re surrounded by food once you sit down. My family & I ordered: Kare-Kare: The vegetables were fresh & the sauce actually tasted like peanut sauce. It also wasn’t oily like most. Beef Kaldereta: it was perfection! Pinakbet: the vegetables were blended well together & I enjoyed the bagoong. Definitely yummy. It also wasn’t oily! I’ve also ordered the cakes here for parties & the cake was always moist. The decorations are fun & really pop!

The most thing that I can say about Goldilocks Union City is — overpriced merchandise!!! They think Filipinos are so longing for their products that their price is overrated. Exactly what the other reviews have said — very expensive!!! Imagine this — a twelve-piece pastillas de leche is $ 12.99!!! WHATTHEHECK!!! What is it made of? Gold milk, gold sugar, cooked in a gold wok??? With $ 12.99, I can make my own pastillas de leche & come up with a hundred or more pieces. Get a grip, Goldilocks. You are not the only place that could make/cook Filipino food & pastries. And yeah, btw, their cooked dishes, looks old & oily! One of them was even selling me hopia that would expire in a couple of days! Do not ever patronize this place, they are taking advantage of the Filipinos who want a taste of Philippine food, they charge you a lot. I noticed, too, they have a lot of about to expire merchandise that are displayed right as you enter their store,(which is inside a big supermarket that I had a hard time finding til I called the store from my car) so you get attracted & buy them. NOTGOOD!!! ATTENTION: GOLDILOCKS!!!

I like this place because they sell individually wrapped sylvanas.(The mini version of a sans rival) And boy are they DELICIOUS! And when I wanted kare-kare, they gave me the last of what they had at a super discounted price. I don’t think I’d try anything else from here tho. lol.

If it was possible to give this place no stars… I would put it. This is the worst«filipino» restaurant around. The Goldilocks name in the USA has now come to a new low. This particular restaurant knows the name and is now synonymous to bad filipino food and worse service. I am currently disappointed in how this restaurant is managed. My wife and I were looking to have taho in the Island pacific store, seeing that the other 2 restaurants were busy we thought we could be sneaky and get taho at the world renown«goldilocks». Unfortunately we were given this cold taho that was microwaved for us and said by the cashier girl… this is how its done. The taho came out all syrup with little to no taho, not to mention when you microwave it, the water from the taho separates, so you can see the murky water underneath it with the syrup. When me and my wife tried to return it, the cashier girl said«its gonna come out of my pay check».(If your reading this… say to yourself how is that possible?) So me and wife stupidly just took and wanted to make sure that all of you who read this… DONOTGOTHEREEVER!!! If Goldilocks is okay with this sub par«filipino» food then they deserve to go out of business and sell mamon strictly to costco to keep its name here in the US. There are far too many good places in that area where you can get better food and taho from.

why did i even walk in here? this place is awful. ugh… but my sister asked me to grab some halo halo for her and the kids. i asked for 2 halo halo special with ice cream. as they were making the halo halo i made sure to say that it was with ube. the guy came out and grabbed an ube ice cream from the front freezer. as he walked back with it, the girl who was making the halo halo told him they didn’t have anymore ube. she came out with the halo halo with some other ice cream flavor which i knew the kids wouldn’t like because they like colorful things like the ube flavor. she said they didn’t have ube and that was that. she wouldn’t budge. i said that’s not what i ordered and demanded to get my money back and fortunately the guy who had the ube ice cream in the first place interjected and said he would replace it with ube. i thanked him for his great customer service but i certainly will not return to goldilocks. how you gonna tell me you’re out of ube when the dude just grabbed one from the freezer? poor service, poor quality of food… i’m gonna patronize the pinoy mom and pops shops instead! deuces!

3.5 stars. I don’t really pay attention to the service here. I haven’t received bad service from anyone here and I don’t want to say«yet»(knock on wood) but I mostly come here to just buy their Siopaos and mamons. I always just come in. buy. and come out. I haven’t really tried their cakes. They just seem way to sweet but the cakes they have on display and in their brochures are artsy and creative. Their Siopaos are pretty tasty. One of them fills me up. I don’t eat pork but I get the chicken. I’ve only encountered one time when they kind of made their filling way too salty and I swear my blood pressure was up for a few hours. Lol. Other than that, The bread they use to make these Siopaos are super yummy. I think I can literally eat their bread alone. They have a special where you buy 6 and get one free. The total is $ 15 bucks and they even put it in a nice box for you. At other locations, I’ve tried their Halo Halos. And they were pretty good. I’m not sure if they still use Rice Krispies instead of pinipig(oat type of ingredient topping). I don’t like pinipig and the Rice Krispies was a yummy replacement. They also have Filipino food here. I really like their chicken and shrimp shanghai lumpias. My son really likes them over any other shanghai lumpia brands. You can buy them frozen and fry them at home. Super yummy with sweet and sour sauce. Yes, I have to admit… Seems like the food here is pretty pricey but then it’s not like I eat here all the time. Would I continue to still come here? Of course… The Siopaos always call my name.

Noticed a Goldilocks delivery van outside Island Pacific Market so i knew a Goldilocks was inside. eats: Ensaymada Delights(brioche with cheese, .99) –chewy, tasted nasty, didn’t taste natural crumbs: –ingredient lists chemicals/additives 3 inches down in length. about 50 of them. eewww. –don’t think anything is made here, aff from factory in hayward. –pastries, cakes pricey. –service polite, courteous.

Came here last night to purchase Mamon for the kids. They were two couples eating dinner and one worker on break. I start to place my order with the guy behind the counter when another customer walks in and starts talking to him. He immediately walks away from me(while I am still talking) to help her. WTF? Horrible customer service!!! Just because she spoke the naïve tongue she gets better service? To give the guy the benefit of the doubt, we wait 2 minutes thinking maybe the old lady was here prior and left and came back just to pick up. Nope. We left and will never shop here again. There are so many other choice to buy baked goods and one right next door. Would give zero stars to this Goldilocks if I could.

Really bummed that I have experienced better Goldilocks in the past. The people that worked there were really nice, but the store itself was dimly lit not the usual bright stores that they are known for. Ordered the Pancit Malabon(celophane noodles, garlic sauce, scallions was okay) ordered the Beef and chicken Empanadas which was harder than shoe both the filling and the dough and they were not cheap but ended up getting rid of them. I have to admit the Empanadas were better at RR, so save your money and go there instead. Next time I will only come here for the desserts.

I would’ve never known Goldilocks was hidden inside a grocery store if my friend didn’t bring me here to grab some sweets. I hadn’t been to a Filipino bakery for years so I kind of went out of control here. Got all of the following for a just over $ 12: — Vanilla and chocolate macaroons? Saturated fat never tasted so good. — Mamon special? Can’t go wrong with anything sprinkled with shredded cheese, even if it’s atop a sponge cake. — Brioche with macapuno? Couldn’t resist going for another baked item topped with cheese. — Ube, langka, and macapuno tarts? This is as close to a six-pack as I’ll ever get. — Halo halo? Topped with rice krispies! Snap, crackle, pop adds interesting texture. By the way, you’ll see that I only took one photo here… Assorted puto… Hehehe… Sorry, I’m old yet immature.

Venturing into a Filipino Bakery/Supermarket on the Eve of Christmas with 3 kids in tow is no small feat. I swore after this trip I vowed to disown my people. First off, shame on me for waiting for the last minute — then shame on me for torturing my kids by bringing them along, with a slightly sick kid I might add. It was a mess. It was a free-for-all-mayhem. I grabbed a few items that caught my fancy: BBQ Pork skewers, pancit palabok, pan de sal, puto, pastillas de leche, cuchinta and mamon. I got on line and had to lay down the law and regulate. People cut in front of me, some even stepped on and elbowed my kids — It was ugly! Man, I was so heated I would’ve taken off my bamboo earrings and slathered on Vaseline — east coast style, OHKAAY?! After this ordeal I ended up paying $ 70, WTF? Food was OK — the prices was outrageous — the experience was insane! I realize there were many factors that contributed to this horrendous experience probably beyond the control of the peeps at Goldilocks — so I am willing to try again and for the record — I will put my membership cancellation on hold! Goldilocks has really good cakes especially for b’days etc. Way better than Safeway et al. I am not such a big fan of their food. Anyways, headed bravely into Pacific Island today to pick up some cakes as a gift since I was going to a friend’s house for lunch. The cassava cake was really good and everyone enjoyed it. The interaction with the person working there was funny. I asked for a cup of water and she grunted and pointed used her head to point in a direction where I ended up finding a water fountain. Not that I come here for the service, so no worries.

I used to come here all the time with my ex-bf who was filipino. We would come here to eat lunch and then go back to work. The employees there was always nice and the place was somewhat clean. The food however was a bit bland for me. The prices is expensive too! Anywho, I don’t come here anymore… because of the memories of my ex.
