Super small farmers market. Kind of went out of my way to come here since it was sort of on my way back home and I was disappointed. Giving it two stars, because I actually did get some pretty good tasting pink lady apples.

Nice little farmers market near the entrance of Kaiser Union City. The market is set up every Tuesday. There are only a few fruit stands and cooked food venders. I go and pick something up when me or my family needs to visit this Kaiser because it’s convenient fresh produce.

Decided to make my doctor’s visit worthwhile by planning it around the farmer’s market on Tuesday. As i finished the dreadful doctor visit and walked out the building, I browsed tiny selection of organic fruits and veggies. I would say there was one stand for veggies and about two stands for fruits. I would say the highlight of this market is it happens around lunch time and there were two stands available to eat food right then and there. There was quite a line for the mexican stand with tacos and burritos. I was crunched for time so I tried the vietnamese stand and grubbed on the $ 6 combo with pad thai and brown rice topped with sriracha sauce. Pretty tasty for a quick lunch although the noodles they used were quite thicker than what I’m used to. They also had springrolls and vermicelli plates on the menu –I’ll be back for. It’s so close to my work that it’s now on my lunch list.

This small market is open Tuesday mornings in front of Building B. I only ever get here on vacation days or during the summer so I can’t comment on what it’s like week after week. When I’ve been here, the vendors have been warm to us. My daughter has a penchant for grabbing and/or sampling produce before we’ve even said hello but no one seems to mind very much. This week’s bargain: 3 bunches of greens for $ 5. I got kale, chard, and broccoli. Warning: because it is located right in the entrance way, watch out for pedestrians, folks boarding and/or leaving paratransit, and other near-collisions.

It’s not bad, it makes it a little difficult to get in and out of building B, but they have fresh organic vegetables. Lots of fruits, nuts and breads. The foccacia bakery vendor is a little pricey but taste good. The Fresh hummus and Pita chips are great! I like the Roasted Garlic or Bell Pepper Hummus.

I work in the area and I heard about this farmers market. I decided to come down at my lunch and see what they had. I wasn’t expecting much so I was surprised to see about 6 booths set up. It is winter time so I’m sure there will be more vendors during the summer. There were veggies, fruit, nuts, olive oil, and a few other things that I didn’t catch. It runs from 10am-2pm in front of Building B. Nice place to stop by during lunch!

I work at this Kaiser and love the farmer’s market on Tues. The tamales are orgasmic. The produce is great. Flowers are super cheap and beautiful. I get fresh flowers for my office weekly. I usually chill for a minute and listen to the harp player and the guitarist. Wish I had more time to sit there and enjoy but I have to get back to work!

This Farmers’ Market is held every Tuesday, year around from 10 am — 2pm at the Kaiser Permanente offices in Union City. It takes up the side walk in front of building B. The great thing about this market is that you can pick up fresh produce on a Tuesday and don’t have to wait until Saturday. This is usually the case for me since I never buy enough strawberries at the Hayward Market on Saturday and need more by Tuesday. I try to schedule any appointment I have during this time so I can make it there during the week. The bad thing: there are only about 6 vendors. The selections is extremely limited. Therefore, do not go to this market expecting to get everything on your list. Actually, don’t go with a list, just look and pick up what looks good at the time. I like that Kaiser does this for it’s patience and the community, just wish there were more farmers out.
