Dr. Grant was superb. He was excellent with both my 4 and 1 year old. He is open friendly and the kids took to him very well.
He also is good with parents, explains things and gave us a complete rundown of what my kids might need down the road.
Carrie his assistant is just as great. Friendly, prompt, informed, and took care of everything.
Glad we found Dr. Grant.

I have been bringing my children to see Dr. Grant for about 10 years. Even though we moved out of the area a few years ago, we still make the 30 minute drive to UC, so my kids can continue to see him. Dr. Grant is an amazing pediatric dentist, very friendly and patient. He does a great job explaining to the kids what he’s doing, or what he’s about to do, and continues to make sure everyone is comfortable during their visit. One of my children has special needs, so we used to worry about how our trips to the dentist would go. But, my children are little champs whenever they come in. Another great thing about this office is that we never feel rushed or pressured when we’re there. It’s so unlike other offices where you tend to be treated like you’ve got about 5 minutes with the doctor, before it’s off to the races with another patient. We have referred many of our friends to see Dr. Grant and continue to be happy with the care we receive from him and his staff.
I would love to give 5 stars, and if I could I would give 4.5 stars. But Unilocal doesn’t let us do halfsies, so I can only give 4 because it can be a challenge to get someone on the phone. Whenever I leave a message, it takes about a week for someone to get back to me. Sometimes longer. So, I usually end up calling a few times before I am able to get an appointment set. A bit frustrating, but I’ll deal with it. Hey, it’s just twice a year, and he’s just that good. ;-)

Dr. Grant and his staff is the best. My daughter has never been scared to go to the dentist thanks to them! They always make sure we feel comfortable! If you are looking for a pediatric dentist look no further more and see Dr. Grant!

Dr. Grant has been a wonderful dentist to my two sons. Their first appointment was with a regular dentist. That was a mistake. He just didn’t know how to interact with children. That’s when I went to Dr. Grant and my children have been going there ever since. He is also great at taking the time to explain things to me after EVERY APPOINTMENT! That is very appreciated.

Dr Leland Grant has been a great dentist to my son since he came here. Very nice. He has gone easy on him the first time because my son is scared of the dentist and he didn’t want him scared of him. He tried distracting while cleaning or drilling on his teeth. My son is scared of the machine sound at the dentist. I am too! ;-p
The office is easy to find and close to known markets. The office is well taken care of and clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. They have an easy online application to use; easy to work with on appts.
Hope to stay here for awhile my son…

My Daughter is 4 years old. She took to the liking of all the décor setting. The place is awesome. My daughter did her full work up without crying or resisting! Dr. Grant and his team did an excellent job. Truly amazing. She was not even scared of Dr. Grant, he was very soft spoken and gentle. He was great! Highly recommend this place.

Dr. Grant is an amazing Dentist. I can attest to the quality of his services as both a former patient and a parent. (I was one of Dr. Grant’s patients a long time ago when he first took over the practice.) Dr. Grant was my pediatric dentist — he has a natural talent for treating young patients and he makes children feel at ease. I never feared the dentist when I was a kid as I always felt very safe and comfortable with Dr. Grant and the dental assistants on his team. Dr Grant and his office staff are some of the kindest people you will ever meet.
My son (who is now 17) is also a patient of Dr. Grant – my son also loves Dr. Grant and felt absolutely comfortable going to the dentist as a child. As a parent, I know that Dr. Grant is an honest, fair, and caring Dentist. He takes pride in his work and truly cares about his patients. Dr. Grant gives honest advice and will not recommend services that are not necessary. He also takes the time to talk to parents about what their child’s dental needs are and how they can best help their children care for their teeth.
When I turned 18 — I didn’t want to leave Dr. Grant! And now that my son is 17, he does not want to leave either.

My son has autism and is terrified of anyone with the title of doctor. We were recommended to Dr. Grant when he was young. Dr. Grant is awesome and so is his staff. The staff schedules him first thing in the morning so he won’t be distracted by anything and our visits are calm and collected. I would highly recommend Dr. Grant to anyone with a terrified child.

I was referred to Dr. Grant after my Dentist was unable to successfully perform a pulpotomy on my son on three separate occasions. We thought he was in for a root canal, but Dr. Grant pulled off the procedure successfully, probably due to his calm demeanor, and his expertise with little ones. His total attention and time was focused on one patient at a time, unlike the managed wandering style employed by most dentists today.
The end result is that it cost a little more, but he was able to do the job right the first time, and there was no return visits to fix any problems. I will not hesitate to bring my son to Dr. Grant in the future.

When my son was only 10 months old, he fell and we thought he had hit his mouth — right where we could have sworn there was a tooth coming out. We, of course (new parents) panicked. I checked the Delta Dental website to see who we could go to nearby and was fortunate enough to find Dr. Grant’s office (we literally searched by radius –closest to our home). When I called and let them know the situation, they happily fit us in the same day and were so kind, caring and gentle. The entire staff is very sweet and, of course, great with kids! My oldest is now 6-​years old and we also have a 4-​year old who also sees Dr. Grant. They both love him and going to the dentist! They’re so gentle and calmly explain what they’re doing at all times. And, of course — kids always get to pick a «prize» when they’re done. Kind of wish I could be a patient there sometimes!
It’s a small office that’s well established and all of the staff are warm and friendly — such calm environment compared to other dental offices I’ve been to. I also appreciate the fact that they are very considerate of your time. We never have to wait very long and though they take their time so as to do a good job and keep you well-​informed — our visits are usually pretty quick, event with two kids! It’s not super fancy, but they’re wonderful.

Although we live at the Hayward/​UC border, my kids and I have been going to Dr. Davidson (see my review on him) in SF because, well, why stop a good thing?
He is so good that even though my 8-​year-​old needed a temporary crown (his tooth was growing in underdeveloped), he deferred to a pediatric dentist because he doesn’t normally do crowns on children.
Enter Dr. Grant, a recommendation from my aunt (where my cousin didn’t want to give him up when she turned 18 apparently). He is nearby and right next to my other son’s orthodontist — perfect. The staff was extremely helpful in setting up the appointment and telling me what to fill out prior to going in. Dr. Grant introduced himself and told me what he was going to do. I’d thought it a little odd that he kept checking on me until one of the staff said that they normally worry about the parents more during major work so they pay extra attention to us nervous nellies. LOL
I’ve seen a lot worse done to my kids, guys. And even though I kept reasuring them that I, and my son, would both be fine, they were still kind enough to reassure both of us, which was cute and sweet of them.
Dr. Grant took the time to tell me that the fillings that were done on my son by Dr. Davidson were quality ones (awesome!) and what to expect, etc. Efficient, friendly, great, knowledgeable, everything you would want in someone taking care of any part of your body. And especially your kids’ bodies.
Side note: I was actually getting more nervous hearing another kid screaming bloody murder in an adjacent room. When the staff kept coming by to tell me how GOOD my son was, I looked at them quizically after the fourth time we had this exchange: «Because usually the kids who come here have a hard time with dentists, so they see Dr. Grant. We’re used to screaming. The kid in the next room is only taking medicine (screaming one). So you don’t understand. We LOVE your son.»
Glad to oblige, ladies. It’s tempting to bring the kids here, for sure.

Dr. Grant is fabulous! My daughter has been going to him since she was 3 and though she was scared in the beginning, Dr. Grant and his team are always so sweet and gentle. They really made my daughter feel more relaxed.
