Don’t waste your time turn around! The food wasn’t good at all, only the rolls, banana pudding, and sweet tea was good.

If you’re trying to eat on the healthy side this is not the spot. Lack of fresh vegetables, everything offered is over cooked and/or smothered in a sauce. Fairly priced, hot food and nice service yes. Not a great variety of food items. «I was there for lunch» I have also tried the Hibachi dinner, but am not a fan of it.

The food was OK. The good part is the meat the bad is the sides. Customer service was OK too.

The food was decent for the price. I think it’s reasonably priced. The wait staff was very attentive so for my personal visit it was a good one. I’m giving it 3 stars because some of the food items were a little bland.

Nothing very special… if you wait for fresh fried chicken you’ll be ok… some items were cold from sitting there and they added fresh items and put the old food on top(yuk!)

We were not impressed with this place at all, the food was very poor quality, the restaurant was dingy, dirty and the service wasn’t great at all. There is nothing but fast food places up and down this road, we would have been better off going to one of those locations instead.

I’m from San Francisco area and came here wanting a real taste of the south. I was very pleased with the food and staff. The price was great as well. They had a large variety from fried chicken to fried rice. The yams and mac n’ cheese were DELICIOUS! I will definitely visit this place again!

Oh my GOD I’m from Austin TX and I stopped by for bite to eat when I found this jewel of a place. I hadn’t had food like this since I was a kid. My wife and son also amazed of the outright goodness of this southern cooking. If there was a rating higher than 5 this place would get it. great job guys!

I realize that racism prevails in this great nation of ours. That said, the food is superb! I can’t begin to tell you the variety from which there’s to choose but I will say if you love Soul Food, Oriental classics, fresh salad offerings all in a clean, friendly atmosphere; be an individual and try it for yourself!

I would go to McDonalds before I come here. Usually I take advantage of all the food I can eat at a buffet but each plate the waitress picked up off my table was as full as it was when I fixed it. I was almost embarrassed wasting all that food but I could NOT eat it. I tried absolutely everything and finished nothing. Golden Corral is gourmet compared to this place. I do not exaggerate. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because the staff is nice and, im still alive and I’m hoping there are some better items they just weren’t serving today. Which I doubt.

In the interest of fairness, another review, having revisited. The management seems to have taken the service business more seriously and my latest visit was a vast improvement. Food was tasty and the experience was acceptable. Worth the revisit.

Food is good for the most part. Nothing fancy about this place, but no bad experiences to date. Have eaten here almost a dozen times because it is convenient and reasonable. Staff and service has been good.

This location was a Shoney’s at one time, so the lay-out is familiar to alot of us – clean n bright. I could slam them for the fried chicken not being a WoW and the pinto beans tasting well, straight out of a can… but i wouldn’t, here is why: for Dinner $ 7.49 their were bright spots on the BUFFET line that would fill up an athlete, any hungry man or finicky eater, a plethora or choices, both baked and fried plus all the typical sides one would expect, to include salad n fixings. The file of sole or should I say the fried whiting was nicely battered, hot n goes down like butter, the collards and mac n cheese wasn’t bad either. I didn’t have room for the Hibachi station this time. Would I go back? This is a cheap eats spot not fancy not not pretentious either, yes if I’m in the neighborhood I’d do Lunch preferably. Take out $ 3.49 Lbs. I solid 3 stars, if you like sweet potato pie add .5. The wait staff polite and attentive. 10% Off coupon currently running in the South side Insider Newspaper, which is conveniently on a rack inside the entry door

Now I don’t go giving out bad reviews for no reason or to be snobby about my food, I’m normally a bit nice with my reviews, but my god this place was terrible. Not only is the inside very old looking and dreary, but everything is dirty; floors, ceilings, bathrooms, couldn’t find a clean table, buffet sides… just dirty. Also, no drink station to refill your own drink even though refills are free, didn’t understand that one. I tried a little bit of everything just to be fair, and they are a ‘southern buffet’ so it’s mostly food you would expect to find in most ‘southern’ restaurants, except the ‘Hibachi’ grill, didn’t understand that one either. I’m not going to list all the things I tried that I didn’t like because frankly I didn’t like anything at all and felt kind of bad leaving such picked at full plates being wasted food. The wing sauce on the mutated looking chicken wings was pretty tasty, just the sauce though. Someone should teach them how to properly cut chicken wings, it’s not that hard. Also, the ‘hibachi’ guy has no idea what he’s doing, just someone who throws the food you picked on the flattop and adds a little sauce at the end. My grandmother, whom I took on my last and only visit, did enjoy it and ate like a horse, but shes 87 and possibly lacks taste buds among other things. I’m also told the lunch staff is much better food-wise. Overall, I would recommend not going there and letting the place go out of business to save the rest of us the trouble of even considering it as an eating option. On another note, it’s actually right down the street from the only other 1 star review I’ve given. Coincidence?

The food here is a mixed bag. Some of it is surprisingly good, like the fried chicken and fish. Some of it is steam table buffet-ish.The salad bar is reasonably good. The biggest complaint I have about this place is the service. Although it’s a serve-yourself restaurant, so the service demands are not that rigorous, the staff here still underperforms. They are clearly not trained or motivated to work hard to make the experience a great one for the customer. Is it really too much to expect to get timely tea refills???

A decent buffet place when you want a change from the old Waffle House since you know what to expect there. My wife and I had the breakfest buffett for $ 6 a piece and it didn’t disappoint in regards to available food. It’s hard to mess up scrambled eggs and those were as yummy as they should be and enough bacon to make your liver go into overdrive for the next couple of weeks. This was a nice stop on our way to the renaissance festival and we were able to fill up to avoid buying any food during our day. Pros: 1. Easy to find off of Jonesboro Road. It’s across the street from a Quiktrip so after you get your cheaper gas you can just use a road with a stop light to cross. 2. Cheap prices for a buffet and plenty of options available. 3. Most of the food is up to snuff for a buffet. 4. Friendly service in general. Cons: 1. Make sure to keep an eye on when they fill up the choices or you may get a hockey puck type of roll or biscuit. The corn-beef hash wasn’t very good either. 2. The white gravy sauce is definitely from a package and water based. Way too much water used in it, resulting in less flavor. 3. The candied ham had a weird mix of salty and sweet. It seemed more caramel based than a typical candy flavor. 4. Don’t expect constant wait service, it’s minimal(such as refilling water and removing plates) which is why you’re paying low prices.
