Glendale Pizza

Great fresh pizza every time, I have yet to be disappointed. Love their ravioli al forno as well, highly recommend. They are always busy due to their great food, so I highly recommend calling ahead if its takeout. The Grandma’s pizza is the best I’ve ever had!!!

Their pizza is good, and overall the rest of the food is pretty tasty, too. Their delivery is pretty awful, however. My in-​laws order from them all the time and it is almost always at least 40 minutes later than whenever they say it will be delivered by, and the food is usually barely warm by the time it is delivered.

I’ve been a union resident for over 13 years and this has been my favorite place for pizza however in recent years the consistency just hasn’t been there I’m either eating the best pizza ever or the worst!

Pizza is very good, these guys clearly know what they’re doing. Keep up the the good work and keep on coming the great food.

When it comes to pizza slices and the Strombolis this place is legit. I work in Union and order takeout and delivery often. Solid choice for salads too.

I ordered Chicken a La Nina and it was delicious! Sorry no pictures because we demolished it within a second lol. They also had fried cheesecake that looked soooo good and I will definitely try it next time to make sure it tastes as good as it looks PS the stuff is very friendly there.

I purchased a large pie from this place. The pizza arrived as promised and best of all the pizza was still hot. It’s not inexpensive because the pie was $ 15 not sure really if a deliver charge was added to my bill. The driver was cool, but he assumed the money I provided went toward a tip instead of asking. All in all I would order from them again, but not utilize their delivery service.

When it comes to delivery they suck! Never get the order right, but if you talk to the cheif hell swear irs right. Never never again. Had this problem not only on one occasion but several. Unacceptable

This is one the best pizzerias in the Union County area. Friendly staff & the dinner are excellent.

My favorite slices are the Chicken/​Pepperoni and Chicken Bruschetta
The subs come on a homemade crispy Italian bread which is mouth watering.

My favorite restaurant in Union hands down. We order from there regularly. I always eat the tri-​color salad.

Glendale pizza is owned by Novita Bistro & Lounge, that’s located in Metuchen. Being that I really enjoy their food, I wanted to give Glendale a shot, so I did and this is what I thought. Eggplant parm foot long was very tasty, I had it on their home made bread. The chef salad was good, it had fresh cold cuts with oil and vinegar dressing, just wish the greens were a little greener. For dessert I went with the home made Cannoli. The cream is made fresh and in house, but the shell is outsourced. I do recommend you give it a try. Double espresso long style was made perfect. I enjoyed the food at Glendale and will definitely come back, so I can give other items on the menu a try.

After several attempts to like this place, I’ve sadly given up. As far as pizza goes, it’s okay but nothing outstanding. Everything seems rushed and uninspired. On my last visit I was craving a good chicken parmesan sandwich. However, it turned out to be the worst sandwich I’ve had in some time. It was hardly edible. The chicken was rubbery and smelled strange. After three bites I couldn’t eat anymore. To say the least, I was really disappointed. Most can look beyond the stand-​offish service but a $ 7 rubber parm sandwich is unforgiving.

My co workers said this place was awesome, best pizza around here. So I gave it a try. Yeah the pizza was good but not outstanding. The waitress is not attentive nor helped us. She barely came by our table to give us water, and she forget to bring you what you asked for. Only thing I liked was the buffalo pizza and the Garlic buns they give out.

I used to love Glendale… I’m talking well over 20 years ago, when they were down the street across from the Hollywood Cemetery. They used to be an authentic take out pizzeria, but once they moved, they added a dining area that just tries too hard to be fancy when it’s pretty much just a pizzeria. The customer service is just terrible. They are so standoff-​ish, the whole «I’m better than you» attitude, the Jersey Shore stereotypes, etc… it’s not very welcoming. The menu is just too overwhelming for its own good and the many oddball pizza styles aren’t really mouthwatering. We all know that in many pizzerias, if you’re getting a single slice or two, the pizza has been sitting out & really isn’t that fresh… but at Glendale, the staleness is SO obvious. Besides the dining area, you feel like you’re in a can of sardines if there’s even one other person ordering beside you. The pizza quality has definitely dropped over the years and the prices just do not justify. The pizza at CiCis is sadly way better. You’re better off going to Mr. Nino’s in Union Center for a bigger and fresher tasting slice

I had the lasagna slice topped with meat ricotta and pasta on a great crispy crust. Service at the pizza counter and in the dining room excellent.

3.5 stars. I have never eaten their pizza as I always order traditional Italian dishes from their menu. Everything I have ordered here has been nicely prepared and has that homey feel. BYOB and good service. Their bread pudding is AMAZING! They should just dim the lights as the place is always too bright.

Once upon a time there was a hungry women who was craving pizza for a few days. So she picked up her phone and called to order a pizza… fairy tales do come true! Especially when you use Unilocal to help! She ordered a ½ pepperoni ½ plain, pretty simple right? Well, not quite.
It took 1 hr for delivery. I figured, THIS pizza is going to be AMAZING… IT TOOK LONG ENOUGH!!!

My excitement, my craving turned to complete DISGUST!
WOW, to my dismay the ENTIRE pizza was COVERED in a thick orange oil slick. After several paper towels were used to sop up the oil (remember this is now 1 hour 15 mins in)… The cheese was cold. Okay, I can handle this. Just pop it in the oven for few & heat. I proceeded to cut the pizza, someone graciously forgot. I realized (now 1 hr. 18 mins in) that there was ONLY 4 pieces of pepperoni PER SLICE. Not true, one slice had 3!!! SCORE!!!
Never again.

I wouldn’t give this place ANY STARS!!! horrible food, disrespectful rude service, and poor delivery timing. I’ve patronized these pigs for years all the while accepting cold, bland food and snide attitudes… money and time wasted after years of loyalty it’s unbelievably sad. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone… this «authentic Italian» restaurant has been a disservice to the community.

I made the mistake of ordering something that wasn’t pizza from their menu. I was having a craving for buffalo wings and tiramisu. Weird, I know. The buffalo wings were very salty and dry. Every bite just tasted like I was pouring a salt shaker in my mouth. The french fries were greasy and soggy.
The tiramisu, which is supposedly homemade is actually a small tub of foamy, frothy (yes, frothy) custard with small bits of lady fingers. It is also much, much too sweet. It is the worst tiramisu I have ever had (and I have had a lot of tiramisu).
As far as the service go, it was your typical slow delivery. They forgot the blue cheese for the sauce, and when I called to let them know, they offered to have the driver bring it by. He never showed up.
The food was so bad I had to throw it all away. A sincere waste of money!
