Hands down the BEST pizza I’ve had thus far. True N.Y. style pizza… owners are very nice as well, treat ya like family.

I ate 2 slices of pizza combo lunch special. I had a sausage and a mushroom slice. Both were tasty. It was my first visit. I plan to return. The customer service was great. They were friendly, courteous and cute.

The bomb pizza! Fav in STL. Seems like a hidden gem, because no one ever seems to know about them.

Hands down THEBEST pizza in St Louis! Being from NJ this is definitely the real deal on east coast style pizza. I have had this pizza at my kids birthday party 2 years in a row, it would have been 3 but Monkey Joes wouldn’t allow it, and my friends and family were talking about it still months later! Again the best damn east coast pizza in St Louis

Finished shopping and wanted a calzone. Don’t know why but was in the mood. Sauce on the side was closed then sweets was closed. I had given up until I ran across this amazing little pizza joint on the way home. I’m so glad we stopped! Ordered a Stromboli that was amazing. The peppers and sausage were so fresh. The dipping sauce was excellent. We also ordered a calzone, cheese only. When we finished, we enjoyed the food so much that we ordered a slice of sausage pizza to split! The good is so good here! The staff, which consisted of a pizza maker and a front end staff– were very nice and friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a better lunch.

Being a NY transplant I was missing the style of pizza back home. But thank goodness La Pizza exists it really is the same type of stuff I would get from home. Even though Racanelli’s is walking distance from me I go on the pilgrimage to La Pizza to get my pizza fix, but I’ve only gotten pie’s at La Pizza and slices at Racanelli’s so I may have to visit both again and reverse my ordering.(Poor me now I have to eat more pizza). I can’t really comment on how it is like eating inside of the store but in terms of food quality and tastiness I am always impressed and always satisfied.

Good pizza, NY style, but I am not sure that I need to go back since we don’t live that close to them. Had more oregano on the pizza than I typically like, and less cheese. So if I went back I would try extra cheese and less oregano. Crust was crispy but too thin for my taste. Not enough substance there. And I didn’t get much tomato sauce taste either. I would rather go to Racanelli’s for their NY style because I like their crust better and it’s closer to me.

I normally hate it when people post a view about a restaurant even if they didn’t eat there. I am hoping for those reading this review, you will understand why I am writing the review without tasting the food. My wife and I are still trying to find decent pizza in this city and were told for NY pizza, this place is the best. If you look at the website you will be under the impression that they close at 9pm on Fridays. Not true. Apparently they close whenever they want. You will also likely be under the impression you can call and order a pizza for pick up prior to closing hours. Also not true. Tonight my wife and I called to order a pizza at 7:30pm. They aren’t supposed to close until 9pm. First, we were told they were no longer taking orders because they were closing up shop. When I pointed out they advertise they are open until 9pm, I was told not if they run out of food. He then explained they only make 80 pizzas a day and when they run out, they run out. Second, I then pointed out the website seemed to indicate a person could order a pizza anytime during operating hours and that nothing indicated some secret 80 pizza limit. So I then said(again) I wanted to order a fresh pizza. He said he couldn’t do that because they don’t make more than 80 a day. WTF? So basically you might call at 5pm and if they have hit their 80 max pizza limit not only might you not get pizza but the restaurant will probably be closed. Just another example of the weirdness that is St. Louis.

Awesome! My go to place for a New York slice in stl. The only thing keeping me from giving 5stars is the building. They have a great following, so I’m sure they make enough to update the place a little.

This is my first time back in over a year and a half-shame on me! The pizza is so good it should have its own holiday! If you are looking for simple, delicious, handmade pizza by the slice or pie, then eat here!

You would never go into La Pizza based on seeing it on the street. The shack-like building in what seems like the middle of nowhere isn’t terribly welcoming and the name isn’t particularly unique. BUT, the pizza is awesome. Made myself sick eating la pizza because it was so good I couldn’t stop! The specialty pies look good, but they have tons of toppings to create your own. Nothing special about the crust but it makes a great vessel for the delicious toppings.

This is my favorite pizza place in the St. louis metro area, in U-City. Good NYC style pizza. Value is decent, slightly more expensive than some other take out pizza places, but still within a good value range. Small dive-ish storefront, always clean. Friendly staff & owner. Owner is from Puerto Rico, then Queens NYC, before St. Louis. …lunch specials, …sell by the slice or whole pie, as well a few other items.

Options in Saint Louis for NY style pizza are pretty slim but thankfully we have La Pizza(as in, the pizza, not L.A.) and really don’t need an alternative! Great fresh pizza made by the friendliest guy in the business! Whether ordering a whole pie or customizing one of their large individual slices(NY style) you can’t go wrong. They round out the menu with some really great baked sandwiches, calzones, salads and my personal favorite, their mouth watering Stromboli(pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onion, and mushrooms rolled in their fantastic pizza dough, baked, and served with a side of their tasty marinara. I’m hungry now just thinking about it, I know where lunch will be today! Also worth mentioning is that their prices are ultra reasonable. La Pizza represents one of the best values for a quick lunch or dinner for them family in the entire mid-county area.

It took me almost a year to find *the* place that’s closest to finding pizza that was good enough to label it «almost as good as home»(NYC). Finally I’ve come across it, a little hole in the wall… I should have known. Most of everything was spot on, I would make the dough slightly doughier but other than that, I’ve found the place to where I shall return for my fix. Thank the Lord!

This place has some of the best pizza in town. It is in the NY style and just delicious. The restaurant itself is rather tiny but there are a few tables inside to enjoy your meal. In addition to pizza, sandwiches and salads are available as well. The pizza is the standout here. The workers are friendly and the pizza is consistently good.

The pizza here isn’t too bad, but it’s a fairly generic crust and flavors. The fact they sell pizza by the slice is cool, but I will say there are a lot of other pizza places in U-city one should try out before eating here. The interior is small and seems like it’s designed to get people in and out the door. The staff is nice and facility is pretty clean.

My beloved LA pizza has taken a turn. Went here last night to pick up dinner for the BF and I. I ordered a 16in ½ pepperoni, black olive ½ bacon, mushroom. The pizza isn’t quite like it use to be, taste wise. It use to taste much better. The crust was thicker than usual and my sweet sauce is no longer. The toppings are the same but the cheese isn’t as good as it use to be. I’m officially on a break from LA Pizza, looking for a new spot with consistency.

Place is pretty good, reminds me of a local pizzeria near my home back in Pgh. If you’re like me, the answer to the first question you may have: No, they do not have a liquor license, however, you can bring your own beer. No fee. They even have a bottle opener, and will bring you a bucket of ice for your brewskies. Nice. I just get plain cheese ’cause I’m boring and stuff. Others have tried their bacon and pepperoni and enjoyed it, but IMHO the pepperoni is wayyyyyyyy too spicy for me here. Yes, I am a pussy, I know. Deal with it. ;) But can’t go wrong with plain cheese, srsly. Limited seating though, and kind of a small lot. So be prepared. A lot of folks get carry-out, but I live too far away. It would be cold by the time I got home. Hence, every trip here(2 so far now?) has been dine-in for me. It’s kinda messy to eat in your car, though if I was hungry enough and there wasn’t enough seating, I would, though the cops may frown upon drinking in your car. So just plan in advance. :)

I love pizza. No… seriously… I LOVE pizza. I could handle having pizza for a meal more than once a week. If I go too long without pizza I start to get jittery and will begin craving it. I like to think I know enough about pizza to appreciate really good pizza when I have it, and La Pizza is EXCELLENT. I see other people referring to it as «east coast» or «New York» style pizza. I grew up on the east coast(not New York), so maybe I am predisposed to like this kind of crust, but La Pizza serves the best pizza in St. Louis in my opinion. I have grown to appreciate St. Louis style, but I think of St. Louis style as being totally different from«traditional» pizza. If you like big, floppy slices with a soft yet firm, slightly crispy, slightly chewy crust that’s not too thick and not too thin, then La Pizza will not disappoint. The ratio of mozzarella to sauce is perfect, and the flavors are better than most pizza. I went for the first time at the beginning of this past summer, and even though it’s a hike from where I live, I’ve been four times already and I’m itching to get back there. On my third visit I had a nice conversation with one of the owners. I shared with him how grateful I was to have found out about it and how much I appreciate the quality of his product, and he explained how it is a recipe that he has developed over years and years. Certain secrets when it comes to preparing the dough, certain things he’s discovered about what brand of mozzarella works best, etc. You can tell this guy really cares and takes pride in what he does. Makes it that much more enjoyable to take my business there. I can’t say enough good things about La Pizza. I love it!

It’s been too long since I’ve visited! Was in the area and what an awesome treat. Everytime the pizza is delicious. The sausage is plentiful and flavorful. I like that it’s sliced and thin. The cheese and sauce mixture is perfect. Not too acidic. The right sweetness for my taste. The crust is the best! Not too thick. A little chewy. 18″, the large pieces are also fun to eat! This is my favorite pizza! Try it? It’s soooo good!
