This is one of the best salons in Texas! Raymond is a master stylist who understands his clients and creates styles that are beautiful.
In my opinion, one of the best traits of a stylist and their level of work is when the client can recreate the same style at home. Raymond has this trait! When I had my hair cut into a new style, I was able to maintain it at home.
I was already amazing when I walked into the salon, Raymond just took my amazingness to the next level.

I met Gaby at a fashion photoshoot for my clothing store. I was so impressed by her work on the models that I immediately booked an appointment with her at Raymond Stark Salon to get my own hair cut and colored.
I have extremely dark hair and I am very particular about achieving just the right shade of «natural» sun kissed blonde highlights. I also like my hair long and breakage/​damage terrifies me, especially when trying someone new. Since moving to Dallas last year I have been to several different top salons and could not find a stylist that got it quite right.
Gaby took the time to really listen to what I wanted and did an amazing job of blending exactly the right shades. She was also very meticulous about not inflicting any damage on my previouly colored hair. I left the salon feeling ten years younger, 100 times prettier, and relieved that my search was finally over!

GABY GABY GABY is the word! After reading a few reviews I decided to give Gaby at Raymond Stark Salon a shot at cutting my hair. I have now been going to her for over a year, and would absolutely not let anyone else cut my hair. She develops a great relationship with her clients, and learns about what they need in a hairstyle, and over time will recommend changes she think would fit with your personal and life style. I cannot say enough great things about her. Every time I walk out of the salon I am confident that I look beautiful, and will be able to closely replicate my hairstyle without too much effort.

Found out about this place by Google-​ing «hair salons north dallas». Impressed by the website I called and easily made an appointment. Great atmosphere, pleasant staff, and I was given a mimosa upon entry.
Eh, Gaby was sweet and I enjoyed our conversation, but she didn’t do what I asked. As someone who doesn’t spend an hour getting ready every morning, I wanted a much shorter style than what I had.
As she was cutting, I told her that I wanted it shorter. She refused and said it was too late because she had her next appointment waiting on her. She also said that making it shorter would interfere with the style she was «going for». Not wanting to make a scene I let her carry on until it came time for the blow dry. I asked again if she’d make it shorter and she refused. We both had grown increasingly quiet after each rejection and it was the most awkward walk to the front desk I’ve ever had. I signed the $ 60 bill and left.
On the way home I caught a glimpse of myself in my visor mirror and realized how awful my hair was. I shouldn’t have flown off the handle over the phone with the poor receptionist, but I was irate that I had just paid $ 60 for a mere trim. The receptionist was polite and kept his cool, listened to me rant and then let me know he would have the owner call me as soon as possible. Several hours later Raymond called to hear about what happened, said he’d speak with Gaby, let me know that my refund request was granted, and offered to make it right by letting someone else cut my hair.
I won’t go back to Gaby but I gave 3 stars for the charming facility, patient & polite receptionist, and proactive & professional demeanor of the owner.

Raymond and my stylist Chris are absolutely wonderful!!! We have enjoyed terrific haircuts. marvelous, inspired hair color and phenomenal customer service for 8 years now!!! Fact: the Owner is Raymond and he is a super person… we girls just sometimes don’t like the truth… Fact…

I was referred to Gaby by a model I worked with on a photo shoot for my clothing store. I was so impressed by her work on the model I decided to make an appointment. My hair is very dark and I wanted to achieve and maintain a natural honey wheat blonde color. I prefer to wear it long so damage is not an option! I have visited most of the top salons in Dallas I have never been quite satisfied.
GABY really took the time to listen to what I wanted. I appreciated the way she considered my skin tone, facial shape and lifestyle before helping me select my most flattering color shades and style. When she was finished with the highlights she gave me stylish cut and blow dry. I left the salon feeling 10 years younger and 100 times more beautiful. Gaby’s attention and care to details as well as her entertainment and fashion industry experience is what I believe sets her apart from the many other high end stylists in Dallas. My search for perfection is finally over!
Gaby has recently highlighted my hair for the 5^th time and it is truly healthy with no signs of breakage or damage. It has grown out evenly and blended each time between visits. I could not write a positive review until I determined this because although not immediately apparent, I believe these things are an equaly important test of a stylist’s skills.

History of bad experience with this salon and should have known not to come back. Wanted my hair cut short and Raymond refused to do the cut I wanted because it was «too drastic». Came in again to fix a bad self-​dye job and haircut (figured an expensive salon is the right place to do that) and they refused to bleach my hair blonde saying that it would look unhealthy and they can’t condone that. Instead they charged me (in my naivety) to come back and get highlights done after they did a much darker color than I wanted. Also, I asked for an asymmetrical bob since I was complaining that my hair flipped out too much on the back of my head. She just cut shorter layers on the back of my head and barely touched the part that flips out… When the highlights came back uneven (top distinctly darker than bottom, because Gabi spent an hour doing them and did the top very last) Gabi said that it was because I’ve had past processes done to my hair and my temples are hotter than the top of my head ??? She said she consulted Raymond and that getting my hair to where I want it is a long process — so they wanted to charge me even more to get it fixed. When I cut through their bull and said no, you just didn’t leave the top on long enough — I’ve had highlights done a ton of times before… she just insisted that no, it was just kept repeating that my hair didn’t take well and that it would be unhealthy to get it much blonder. She also said that I signed a waiver with the understanding that my hair might not come out perfectly. I was pretty sure that was just for my dye job since they had to do color correction — but honestly — I have never had to sign a waiver at any other hair salon before. So lets see– Raymond Stark salon doesn’t want people going out with «unhealthy hair» but they are fine sending them out with blotchy highlights. And the whole waiver thing is a cop out for them too. Oh by the way, they wanted to charge extra for the blowdry on top of an $ 85 partial highlight job. Also, when I asked why the back of my head was also way darker– she said oo well you had partials so we only did the crown. By her definition, I guess the part of my hair that is lighter than the rest should have not been dyed then huh? «Full highlights adds the highlights to your entire head — the top and bottom layers. Partial highlights is generally just the surface where the sun would naturally hit.» Hmmm I would think the sun would hit the back of my head.
Customers BEWARE! They will try to suck as much money out of you as possible and hope you are pushover.
P. S. The first time I went there, Raymond did my hair and HEAVILY pushed all of their product on me.

This is a tough one for me because I adore my stylist (Tuan) however the owner of the salon is arrogant and rude. I was a victim of a «worst hair cut ever» about 2 years ago and I’m thankful for the referral to Tuan. He is very talented, professional, and friendly. The salon is very nice just the owner is not.

Excellent full service salon with very talented people. Relaxing, beautiful atmosphere and a real treat for yourself. Highly recommended. Raymond Stark has cut my hair for years and there is a reason I go back — Experience a haircut from him and you will see why.
