Bad customer service. They sent out a free coupon to their email list that was set to expire July 31. Then they said it was fraudulent. The manager had no clue what to do and told me to call customer service. Of course there is no one there at night when I need dinner for my family. I called customer service and they said sorry but they won’t honor the coupon. The expiration is July 31, not whenever you say so. They are willing to upset a loyal customer that buys 1 – 2 pizzas a week at the Upper Arlington location.

Terrific gluten-free pizza!!! I have really missed Donatos pizza because I have celiac. Once they came out with their gluten-free pizza, I was so happy! It’s delicious!

Too many wrong orders. Our last order(submitted online) yielded one pizza missing two items and covered in over a half inch of sauce poured over the pizza(no extra sauce ordered). The other pizza for which we did ask for extra sauce was similarly drowned in extremely thick sauce. The pizzas were gross. On top of that, an order of cinnamon sticks was omitted from our order. Thinking back on our experiences here over the years, they have gotten more orders right than wrong. But this last example isn’t atypical either. When errors are brought to their attention, they have sometimes offered store credit — but this seems inadequate to me. When I am in the mood for pizza, I’ll go to one of the many other good pizza places in Columbus. Update: just went to give these guys another chance. They said they didn’t have a record of the store credit they offered us after botching our last order so badly. We went ahead. I got a pizza that was really undercooked. Between the bottom of dough and the sauce was a liquid uncooked dough. On top of that, one of the wings was severely undercooked — raw in the middle. I will definitely go out of my way to go elsewhere from now on.

After watching Undercover Boss, I tried this place out. I enjoyed their pizza because it was exactly as advertised during the TV show… you taste all your toppings in every bite, there is plentiful toppings, sauce, etc. While the personal pan could have a slightly lower price point, the rest of the pizza sizes and their prices appear reasonable.

If I’m writing this for the staff alone, perhaps a 2. If I’m writing this for the food alone, more like a 4. Thus, a solid 3-star overall. Why a 2 for the staff? I’ve been in to the store to pick up and order exactly twice. Both times they were slow to come out front to help us and the person at the register was downright rude the second time. We were in an hour and a half before they closed but he acted like we were bothering him right at close. Can’t say I appreciated that much. Why a 4 star for the food? Well, to put it simply, that individual size pepperoni zinger no-dough pizza and a salad is about my favorite thing pizza-wise right now. I had to go gluten-free for health reasons and I’ve been struggling to find an acceptable pizza replacement ever since. Most places that offer gluten-free pizza try to replace the crust with a gf alternative and most of the time, it’s not so good. Donatos takes a kind of «just forget» attitude towards the crust and I actually appreciate that. Leaving it with no dough, a bit of crunchy soy bits, and the pizza regulars actually makes it the most delicious. So as long as I do my ordering for delivery from now on, I think I’ll keep on liking this Donatos.
