We did the Cabin as a group of 9, and it was *really* fun! It was quite difficult, we really needed at least 6 – 8 to even stand a chance, but it was a great time! Definitely recommend!

We had a great time! We did the Save the World puzzle and I was really impressed by the quality of the puzzle! I didn’t see a single thing in the room that was pre-fabricated. It all looked completely homemade and authentic!

We happen to have a meeting in UIuC… Long story short, it was a afternoon of our short visit. We wanted something fun to do but we couldn’t find any landmark or place to go. «Yelped» and found this place, it’s kind of hard to find the entrance.(it shares its entrance with other stores. They offer a student discount which is the best price I even seen for escape room. Appointment recommended. We went for the cabin selection. And it was amazing. Apparently we failed the game but we enjoyed it so much that I want to go to the other game. The people their were so nice. Best place to visit in town!

What a fun experience! We had 3 people in the«Office Hours» escape room and this was our first experience. It was great searching for clues and solving the puzzles. They were challenging! What a great feeling when you get them! I’m so glad we saved the world, and with only minutes to spare! We are looking forward to the The Cabin and the soon to come Wizard one. Grab some friends and have some fun!

Had way more fun than I expected! My sister, wife, and I did the office room and we completed it with about 5 minutes on the clock. Great experience, would recommend to anybody!

There was a nice theme to puzzle my team of 7 had to solve. We had an hour to solve the puzzle and we beat it with just 2 minutes left. This will challenge you and you have to think outside the box. I will definitely try to make it back to solve the other puzzle!

My first time in an escape room, and the most fun I’ve had in C-U in a long time. The puzzles are satisfyingly complex, multi-layered, and strung together in a really nice progression. My group of 8 had a blast: everyone had something to contribute, and nobody was ever standing around scratching their heads — some people naturally gravitated towards scouring the space for clues, others started collecting notes on clues other people found, others hunkered down and tried to fit all the pieces together. Every time someone had a breakthrough, it felt like a real accomplishment for everyone, and the excitement kept building through the whole experience. The only downside to the whole thing is that they don’t have more rooms open yet. Highly recommended; please go and give them your money, so they can add many more experiences!

Just did the Office Space setting. It was so fun and I’m high on life right now! The clues are well thought out. My recommendation is to not gather every bit of information. Clues are clues, you’ll probably know them when you see them. We’re trying out a new one and I’m super excited. Wish me luck!

This was a super fun time! I’ve not done any sort of room escape before, but I really enjoyed this one. The puzzles were challenging, the ambience was really fun, and the staff(Andy) was really nice and helpful. We went with a big group(8 people) which made for a fun amount of chaos. I definitely plan to come back for the next room.

Went here with my labmates and we had a fantastic time! The puzzles are challenging, but that’s part of what makes it so fun! Highly recommend for any occasion. When they come out with new rooms, my friends and I will be back. =)

This was A-MAZ-ING! I heard about it from a co-worker who had attended and went with some friends. We talked about it for a couple of hours afterwards and we are all looking forward to going back to solve the next room when it opens up. This was so much fun!

I was legitimately very impressed by the depth and the content of the escape room. The adventure I did was called«Officer Hours.» Everything was very well connected and I was able to really get into the scenario. By the time you finish, whether you succeed or not, you will still feel like you had a really good time. I loved everything about the escape room and I will definitely return for the next challenge when CU Adventures changes the theme; I’m pretty sure they have gotten me addicted to the concept of escape rooms.

Went on a Friday night with four friends, paired with three strangers — thankfully– as they were whip smart and pulled my weight. Harder than anticipated(and I regretfully had a few cocktails prior), but really fun. From talking to others that have done the«franchise» Escape rooms, I feel those places do more of a mass market approach to the general public. These CU folks obviously love what they are creating, and I feel like they are striving to avoid a cookie cutter experience. Put on your thinking cap and GO!

No spoilers: An hour to solve A mystery? It can be done! Teamwork is the key, bring your family and friends it was very amazingly fun, and I cannot wait to go back for the new adventure this winter! The latest adventure goes back in time to the 30s, and through a course of events unbeknownst to you, the world is in danger and you and your team of adventurers must save the world before time runs out. Our group had an amazing time trying to solve the clues and«win» the game.

It’s like a haunted house for people who like using their brains and/or poking around in other people’s stuff. It’s definitely going to be one of those bucket list things to do in the CU area. Best done with a large group of friends, and maybe at least one person of above average intelligence. You know, the people you would want to be stuck with in a zombie apocalypse. But not that one friend.(I’m sorry, you know they’re only going to slow the rest of you down. They have«zombie-fodder» written all over them.) If you are a fan of Indiana Jones, mysteries, puzzles, adventures and saving the world, this is for you!

Excellent, lots of fun. Definitely more entertaining than I thought it would be looking at it. I haven’t done one of these before, and I definitely recommend coming with a group of friends who aren’t afraid to just shout answers and yell and chat.

This is a really unique and very fun adventure! Definitely unlike anything I’ve tried before. Great story and challenging puzzles – this is the place to take your friends when you’re looking for something new to do. Having never been to an escape room before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I figured it would at least be more interesting/less jump-scare-y than a haunted house(very true), but I was a little worried I would feel claustrophobic being«confined»(I definitely didn’t). There’s plenty of room to move around and lots of interesting things to see and do. My husband and I ended up bringing all three of our boys along with us, ages 10 – 17, and we all had an absolutely fantastic time together! Surprisingly, the boys showed excellent teamwork, with only a small amount of sibling bickering. They each found something they could contribute to the quest, which I thought was fantastic. My oldest is already planning an outing with his buddies, even though he’s done this story already. I’m not sure if I would recommend a group of young kids go together, but my youngest held his own with his older brothers, and was really engaged in the story and the puzzle-solving. Bottom line? We’re all ready to go again! Can’t wait to see what new adventures they have in store.

I had an awesome time at CUAdventures! It was my first time doing an escape room, but I now I want to try out more for sure. I went yesterday(10⁄13) to play their Office Hours adventure and had a great time. The owners were very friendly and obviously love what they’re doing. They’re planning on releasing more room soon, but since they’re just opened, Office Hours is the only offering for now. I played in a group of 4 people, and felt the adventure had a very good balance of difficulty and discovery. Though there were a few places we got stuck on, we were still able to progress with the increasing amount of clues we were able to find. All four of us were very engrossed into the experience, and had good teamwork even though we(two groups of two) didn’t know each other before hand. There were some neat surprises and some satisfying aha moments. I won’t spoil them, but if you like puzzles you’ll definitely love this place! The owners were also very receptive to suggestions or anything you felt could use tweaking, which is great, since it will make the experience better for everyone in the future. All in all I had a great time and will definitely come back once their new adventures are open.

Wow. You want a great, fun evening, this is your place. If you’ve never done a room escape before, the idea is this: a group of people(sign up with people you know or go in with strangers, take your pick) are confined in a room or series of rooms with an hour to solve a network of clues and puzzles and escape. The nature of escapes means one can’t get too specific in a review for fear of spoiling the experience, so let me start generally: some of the very best room escapes in the world are in Manhattan. This one would fit in there, easily. The escape my friend and I did was called«Office Space.» It’s set in a professor’s office in 1930s Urbana, and the rooms are set-dressed as if they came straight out of that era. All the furniture, all the wall art, all the books on the bookshelves work to evoke the feeling that the setting is, for the hour of the escape, very present and real. The clues and puzzles are all organic to the plot of the escape. My friend and I were engrossed finding clues, looking for meaning in every nook of the space, and delighted as some of the first-found clues became essential near the end of the escape. And just when you think you’ve explored the whole space, there’s suddenly a whole new trove of… well, I don’t want to say too much. But you won’t know what’s coming next. And the surprise factor is so much a part of what makes an escape game exceptional. I wish I could forget everything I know about this room so I can play it again. But alas, I’ll have to wait for their other two rooms to open…
