I recently went to Mercy Memorial due to severe low potassium and elevated liver enzymes as a side effect of a stomach virus. I can say the ER did all they could to keep me comfortable, as the nausea was near debilitating. Upon receipt of my labs and discovering my potassium was dangerously low, I was admitted… That’s pretty much when it went down hill. I saw the doctor once and she left very vague orders for me, but she had to leave for a funeral and the on call provider couldn’t be reached. The treatment plan wasn’t working and I didn’t have a doctor to switch meds and try other treatments! So basically, I had no doctor for the majority of my stay. They ended up having to pull an LPN from the ER to give me my orders. I was vomiting green bile and their lovely LPN Jason thought the best treatment for me was to orally consume a «GI Cocktail!» Which I obviously refused because I’d been vomiting for five days! I was given Zofran for nausea, which had stopped working, and was told I was only allowed one dose of Phergran! And this isn’t even the best part. My potassium was ran thru my IV wide open at 100 mEq’s causing severe burning of my veins. It was eventually decreased to 60 mEq’s, which I was told later is still very high. My heart was beating out of my chest because the six bags of potassium was ran so quickly thru the IV. They literally could’ve killed me! By the next morning, I saw my doctor for the second time and she was recommending I stay another night, but I requested to be discharged. The one positive note is that they rehydrated me and I was able to get my nausea under control. I believe this hospital needs investigated! It has been a week since I’ve been discharged and I’m still vomiting up bile. Another complaint I have is that I felt like I was being treated like a drug addict. Here I am coming into the hospital because I had been vomiting for five days straight and the staff wanted to question me about my pain level and what I was taking for pain. How was that relevant to low potassium? Jason, the LPN proceeded to tell me that he doesn’t prescribe narcotics… Again, relevant how??? Anyway, the nursing staff was nice, but that’s about it! I will not be returning to this hospital in the future. Hopefully i don’t have a reason to! If so, I’ll drive the extra ten miles to another hospital!

i went to the emergency room for a disabling attack of lumbar stenosis and was abused by dr. megan miller(npi 1063724557) who called me a drug addict for requesting the same treatment i’d received from a real doctor in that same emergency room for an attack of stenosis two years prior. when i complained to the hospital, some woman named dr. kolodzik feigned disapproval of «dr» miller’s abrasive, contemptible demeanor. she requested my phone number so that«dr» miller could call to apologize. when«dr» miller called, she denied ever having treated me as a reprobate, denied the incident entirely. when i called dr. kolodzik back, her phony concern had evaporated. she called me a liar and hung up on me. first do no harm, ladies. this hospital is fit only for catching a helicopter ride to a real hospital. it is not a place to seek healing.
