This riparian area is a nice quiet trail, paved with lanes for each way. It cuts through a few different neighborhoods with plenty of outlets in and out with many leading to schools and parks. The terrain is mostly flat but there are a few alternate dirt paths you can take that take it up a notch especially if you have a mountain bike. Many people that use the trail are considerate of the direction of traffic. There are no trashcans or bathrooms on the trail. The county maintains the trail a few times a year and the Coastal Cleanup volunteers give a good cleaning once a year in early fall. Many people walk their dogs here too so be on the look out for dog waste. This trail is a great nature walk. The trail is mostly lined with tall oak and black walnut trees that keep it shaded in spring and summer. They also produce a lot of nuts that litter the trail and attract barking grey squirrels, five different kinds of woodpeckers and loud-mouthed scrub jays. There are plenty of other flora depending on what season it is. The creek, which been known to flood a few times when the rains come, houses three kinds of turtles that sun themselves on the rocks, and two kinds of very shy mammals. It is also possible to see lizards, hawks, wild turkeys, and a giant family of turkey vultures.
