I loved the place while it was open. Unfortunately, they’be been closed for several months with nothing more than a vague sign saying they are temporarily closed. If they’d re-open, I’d go there when am in town on business.

This chain has gone so far downhill since its heyday back in the late 90’s. The salad is still good with a myriad of choices unfortunately the pizza and pasta are way below average taste and quality wise. The soups are still ok but nothing special. Surf the internet before dining here as you can normally find a discount coupon. The staff is friendly and provide good service.

I just keep coming back. I have a hankering for salad and dinner which is magically only ever 75% satiated by Fresh Choice. I just cannot get a full meal here. The pizza is horrible. The pasta is tempting but I never finish it. So two full plates of salad makes me happy and keeps me coming back. The other items just don’t work to make this an overall positive fresh buffet experience. I recommend some more protein options on the salad bar with better presentation. The chicken breast and other extra cost small plates do not look appealing.

This was a nice concept… twenty years ago. Recently, the quality and variety of foods offered has dropped off. On a recent visit I learned they dont even offer their signature breadsticks :(I hate to say it, but the food quality is on par with Hometown Buffet, which is not a compliment. The person who was supposed to clear my plates during my meal didnt show up until I was 2⁄3 done with my meal, too little too late, especially since the place was nearly devoid of customers.

I love all you can eat places and Fresh Choice even lets you pretend you are being healthy by having a huge salad bar. For $ 10.49 you can go through the salad bar as many times as you want and they have a few options for hot food and dessert. They have definitely added and improved toppings for the salad since I was last here. They had a nice red lentil salad, asparagus and artichoke heart salad, and mushroom and pea salad to name a few. I was bummed to see the only cheese they had to offer was bleu cheese. They also had about 5 different soups to choose from, spaghetti, mac and cheese, baked potato bar, a few pizzas, and of course the DELICIOUS corn bread and a few other bread choices. For dessert they had chocolate and vanilla soft serve with lots of toppings and brownies. If you are super hungry but don’t want a spend a lot this is a good option.

We stopped here twice on a road trip(on the way out & on the way back) and both our experiences were good. The staff is friendly without being overbearing and creepy. The restaurant as a whole was clean(bathrooms included) and there were plenty of extra utensils to found when our precious child decided to fling hers to the floor. The high chairs are over by the door, so you either have to wheel one through with you while you’re trying to hold a child and grab food(awkward) or wrangle a hungry child while your Partner in Crime sprints back to grab one. Ultimately, it’s a nice place to stop when you’re hungry, road weary, and have a toddler who needs to stretch her car-seat sore bottom. And it sure doesn’t hurt that kids under two eat free.

Tables, floor, and buffet are filthy! Dirt and actual dust on buffet, food mashed into carpet, and the food is gross. The last time I went there, I asked for more lettuce to make my salad at a salad buffet mind you… the girl working the buffet literally said they ran out of lettuce! Luckily another worker over heard this and stated she«thinks» there might be more in the back??? How do you run out of lettuce at a salad bar at 6pm? This just goes to show how run down this place has become. Lazy workers, dirty surrounding, nasty mediocre food. When I left this place for the last time I felt icky at the thought of eating here. If they allow the front areas to be so filthy and dirty I can only imagine the kitchen area that I can’t see! My only thoughts was of the movie called Waiting, I don’t want to think about how my food was just prepared… :-/wrong on so many levels!

Overpriced salad place. I understand it’s all you can eat salad, pasta, soups, and entrees but for the price it just doesn’t seem worth it. The salad bar is huge and has a great variety. The hot food section is standard and the dessert bar is great when it’s not a sticky mess from other people not being courteous but for the price… nah. The service is poor and sometimes I never see the bus person or server(forgot what they liked to be called). If you tell them you have been there before they just say«ok so you know the drill» and ignore you for most of the meal. Every time I come here with my SO it costs us about $ 15 – 20 a piece to eat cause of charges for meat on salad and drinks. It’s just too much for an salad place. I would rather make a good salad at home for half the price.

We stopped at this Fresh Choice on our way to Reno. It is definitely much cleaner than the one located in Colma, CA. The bus boy was super friendly too which is pretty much unheard of in Colma as well. Perhaps they are just too busy there, but we were impressed by this location and will probably stop by again if we are headed out this way.

I’ve seen the quality of food here go down hill and the prices go up through the years which is a shame. The food can taste great if it wanted to, but tossing way too much dressing on some of their signature salads or serving burnt pizzas could be avoided. They do have their moments where the foods prepared tastes just as good as «Sweet Tomatoes» but I’m also showing up at times when the food isn’t. Service staff is kind though, thats a major plus!

Love this place! Whenever I feel like I’m beginning to resemble the looks of Miss Piggy, this place is a nice break from the restaurants I like to frequent. Fresh salad, soup and pastry treats really quenches the palate all the while filling the stomach without feeling like a blimp afterwards! The staff here is friendly and attentive. The place is clean and family friendly. It gets packed around lunch time so get there early! My rating: NOTABLE!

Gross, gross, gross! Dirty, and the girl at the register was RUDE. Luckily for us we were just passing through on our way to Tahoe. Next time we’ll keep on driving. Don’t waste your $$.

I’d say this place had earned a solid 3 stars. Perhaps 3.5 depending on what hours you come in, etc. I may stop in again if I’m in the area(usually when I’m driving down to the outlet mall nearby from Davis). I think a few of the other reviews are a bit harsh concerning freshness, but then again, I came here on a Saturday during dinner hours, so food was regulated on the bars fairly frequently. I’d suggest doing the same. The guy at the register was really nice. My boyfriend and I were going to pay on the same bill, but he said if he rang us up separately, he’d use my boyfriend’s AAA card and student ID for each of us separately to give us a discount. Really awesome dude. :) Pizza was hot and yummy. The BBQ chicken salad was out of this world. I loved it! They even rotated their bread fairly frequently, so you could tell it was decently fresh. I had their chicken fettuccine soup and loved it save for the fact that it was a bit bland. It’s probably good though for those who have trouble with certain levels of sodium intake — a few dashes of salt and pepper and it was perfect. They have a frozen yogurt machine, but the yogurt comes out very quickly, and it has a slightly strange taste to it. Think the quality could be improved a bit on that, but it wasn’t bad necessarily. Overall there’s a fairly decent selection if you’re just looking for salad, soup and pizza. It’s nothing crazy, but it’s nice for a laid back lunch/dinner.

Probably my favorite buffet place since I won’t feel(too) fat after eating here. Their salad selection is huge and basically anything that has ever been on a salad is there for you to create your own. They have very delicious salads, and pretty good pizza and soup along with other random items. Their baked goods are really good too! Very delicious wheat bread and their corn muffins actually have corn!(why is that a surprise?) I especially love how every item has all their ingredients and nutritional value listed. I love this place. Been to the one in Sacramento, Vacaville, and Fairfield and they’re all great!

I remeber going here all the time long time ago but once hometown open up accross the street theres no real reason to come here… The price is only slightly less and they dont even compare to hometown on the food. Look at it this way for 8 bucks you can get a salad and soup and mabye some mirco wave pizza . or for 10 bucks you can get salad and a big buffet of food… seems like a no brainer to me… salad is salad so after that its just about food and fresh choice barely has any food and the food they do have isnt even as good as hometown and that ant saying much considering its hometown if you know what i mean… so just spend the extra 2 bucks and go to hometown i just cant see any reason to go here anymore they need to expand there menu or move accross town so there not right next home town… lol when ever i see fresh choice i think ya that sounds good then i think… oh ya hometown is right there and you know the rest…

Fresh Choice is awesome!!! The name pretty much sums it up: it’s fresh and they have TONS of choices! Before you go through the mile-long salad bar, you can take a peek at the sign they have that tells you how much of that day’s produce is local and organic, which is super cool! These items are also labeled throughout the buffet. Also, each item tells you calorie and other health-conscious content, which is really helpful when you have to be careful about what you eat, whether it’s because you’re watching your weight or have food intolerances. My favorites are the strawberry fields salad(seasonal), phở, clam chowder, California veggie pizza, sweet potatoes, zucchini bread, and dessert bar(all, haha)!!! I didn’t really like any of the pasta, so I don’t waste plate room on that, but other than that, I don’t think you can go wrong here!

Stopped by here on the way home to Sacramento from a baseball game in Oakland. From 3 – 5 p.m. you only pay $ 6.99 so who can beat that? One of us had a AAA card so they give you an additional discount. For the cheap price, I don’t mind serving myself endless amounts of salad. My favorite was the strawberry salad in the spring mix tossed with balsamic and covered with almonds. I had a few servings of that. They have many options, this place is especially ideal for vegetarians. There were several kinds of pizza, soups so I made sure to try everything. Hey I had to make sure I got my moneys worth. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about this place. The place was kept super clean and the workers are always quick to wipe up any mess people make at the salad bar. The service was great, we always had room on our table for plates and the employees were there to offer refills and at one point one of them walked around offering freshly baked cookies… I politely declined as I was so full and could barely breathe at that point. GOHUNGRY from 3 – 5 p. m!!!

This is a decent option for those who don’t want to have meat. I am a big fan of animal protein dishes, so this is not the most ideal place for me. However, they feature a great salad bar, and good soups. Pizza and baked goods are good, however I highly recommend you not go just before closing. They don’t refresh the baked goods at all during that point, and you don’t get the most for your money. Everything was fresh, and decent, and good. Much better than the HomeTown buffet in the area.
