My 7 month old loves the carousel so I thought to bring her by. She loved it! I may even do her first birthday here. Under 2 and their first train and carousel ride is free, then after that $ 2 per ride. There are shops all around. All of my kids enjoyed themselves for about $ 12. I’m not mad.

Very nice inexpensive place to take the kids on a beautiful day. Came here with my daughter and she loved the train ride and carousel… They Ben have see-saws, rocking horses, and marry-go-round… $ 2/ticket and 6 tickets for the price of 5! Each ride is only one ticket, so 6 tickets for $ 10 isn’t bad… Or u can get an all day ticket for $ 15. Great place for shopping and eating too! Jelly Belly, Ice-Cream, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, whatever!!! Oh and Old Navy is ride down the same road… All within walking distance… Recommend to at least take a chance!

We visited Nut Tree as a stop between SF and Tahoe. It was a good distance to get out and stretch the legs plus it has lots of things to do and see. It was a perfect stop with a 2 year old, there is a train, carousel and a small variety of play equipment. Each ride on the train or carousel requires a $ 2 ticket, although adults can stand in the carousel for free. The toilets were nice and clean when we visited early in the morning too!

Nut Tree was once a nostalgic part of family vacations. It meant that the long drive from Shasta through the Central Valley was over. Relief was ahead. It was a funny, happy, colorful, distinctive pit stop. Now that it’s a mediocre outlet mall with generic brands(Peet’s, BevMo, Sports Authority), there’s nothing special about it. In its heyday, it was a kid-friendly destination with sweets, cookies&hydration for the road trip(it started back in 1921) The kids’ playground with its train, airplane, etc have miraculously survived… albeit unceremoniously stashed in the back of the outlet mall. Nut Tree’s restaurant was also special, with its emphasis on fresh fruits&veggies. They made pineapple with a freshly made marshmallow/mayo cream. They had various nut-centered concoctions, including delicious walnut rolls/buns(?) that were proof that while chocolate is good, it isn’t necessary. Their walnut rolls were addictive. Some of the recipes have managed to survive: The Nut Tree Outlets have preserved the original signage, along with the original play area… and sadly, that’s it.

This outlet is so fun to come here with the family. This is perfect for my niece cause she is soo happy going on the merry go round and the train. Toddler friendly and the price is free for under 2 year olds. $ 2 admission for adults so I don’t mind paying that price. It’s better to come on the weekdays so it’s not as packed with kids.

The service is terrible! I ordered gifts and it says pick up at next day 2pm. I called the store several times but there was no one answering nor any voice message! I called 866 customer service and was told they were not open on that day. If they are not open, why did they tell me to pick up on that day! This is very poor service.

Adorable little outlet! We rode the train and carousel so many times! Tickets are only $ 2, 2 and under ride free with a parent the first time. The children’s play area has a seesaw and merry-go-round too! The other play near the Jelly Belly store was so cute and my 2 year old and 3 year old loved it. Be careful sitting at the picnic tables near the carousel though! We were swarmed with wasps despite it being the middle of October. Also, the bathrooms are a pretty decent distance from the train and carousel so take any little ones potty first!

We stop by Nut Tree Plaza each time we head from the Bay Area to Lake Tahoe or Sacramento. We do it because it is a nicely located pit stop for a family with a 4 year old. The plaza has decent parking, shops, restaurants, rides, and a few things for little ones to play on. For families, it’s a great stop — adults can grab a coffee at Peet’s, kids can ride the train and carousel, and the entire family can play chess and go on the see-saws. You can then grab a snack or meal at Fenton’s and go get some samples at the Jelly Belly store. The bathrooms are clean and close to the Jelly Belly store. If you have extra time, you can also head across the freeway to the outlets(OR make this a stop for your kids if YOU are going to the outlets).

What a cool plaza for kids! We bought a few tickets at $ 2 a piece and my daughter enjoyed a ride on the train and a few rides on the carousel. She had a blast on the seesaws and the rocking horses. Wish there was a little more shade.

The new shopping center which 15 or so brand new establishments were just built in, has the absolute worst parking I’ve ever seen. It’s worse than rush hour traffic in Los Angeles. Hit it anywhere near the time people eat and you either can’t park, or you can’t get out of your parking space because there is a line the length of the plaza of people waiting for parking spots. You don’t put all of those good places to eat and buy coffee in, and skimp on the parking. They need to open a lot next to the plaza, just for parking. I hate just trying to eat at Chipotle.

Nut Tree has grown over the years. Before we would just drive through and see the clothing stores. Now there’s a whole place on both sides of the freeway. Nut Tree is cute now with a carousel and a Jelly Belly Store, Fenton’s…and it’s just growing.

First time ever coming here. Our main purpose was to ride the train and go on the merry-go-round with my toddler. Just the excitement of my son’s face when he saw that train… makes the trip worth it. Wonderful little train ride that goes around twice — it’s a fairly long ride. Merry-go-round with tons of different animals to chose from. Note that your child needs to be a certain height before they’re allowed to ride on the outer ring of animals. My son is determined to grow taller ASAP so that he can ride the elephant. $ 2 a ride, for either the train or carousel. Interchangeable tickets in case you change your mind after you’ve purchased a ticket for either attraction. In the middle of the park is a small play ares with lots of «rocking horses» and such for kids to play on.

Much improved from when I was a kid. The stores are nicely spaced out. There is plenty of parking. There is also an area for kids to play. The mall needs more shade though, it gets pretty hot.

I love a deal especially an outlet deal! Thumbs up: –it’s an outlet store –convenient parking –Variety of stores Thumbs down: –not so much a deal, prices still normal prices with barely any price slashing(come on what’s the deal!) –no Burberry, came here for that and left with not that. Another outlet I shall try!

The former Nut Tree was a nostalgic focal point of my childhood. It was basically a farm that had been transformed into a mini attraction of sorts, with a little train you could ride on, a unique restaurant, animal rides, an airfield full of planes and a merry-go-round. That childhood dream has been turned into a modern shopping center which manages to hold on to some of those former elements, but has lost the charm it once had. As an adult, it has plenty of advantages. It’s never so crowded that parking is impossible and the selection of shops is fantastic. Besides the merry-go-round and the train(the track was shortened from a long ride through an orchard to a short loop), nothing remains of this place as it once was. I’m happy to see they cared enough to keep some of those elements that made the Nut Tree so important to so many former kids. Maybe a new generation of children will see the Nut Tree today with the same wide-eyed wonder that I did for its previous incarnation. It’s far less about the youngsters now and far more about shopping. Side note: The mini Nut Tree train has been preserved and is still in pristine condition. Take a moment to check out this wonderful antique as it is a true original.

It’s a 5 star when *Katie* is there! Our princesses love the nut tree and the carousel is the best part by far! We also love *Prince Jim* who runs the Choo Choo train! So friendly and they both help create a magical and memorable experience!

Back in the day one of college roommates worked at the restaurant here. Took his tips and used it to hustle at pool late at night. Cut to present day, it’s a remake of the aged retail to newer family friendly fare. Lots of chains but a few cool shoppes here and there. Kind of weird that you might be hit by a mini train if youre not careful or that the fibers from all the trees blowing in the wind and stick like fur. The main draw for me? Teh various eats

I remember visiting the old Nut Tree as a kid with my Papa and loving it. We’d get ice cream, cookies the size of my head, and belly aches from laughing. Beautiful memories. Present day Nut Tree is all commerce. Luckily there is Fenton’s so I can still take my little for ice cream. We ride the old rocking horses; these must be new but they feel almost like my memory. We ride the train and carousel; my little is crazy about both. But instead of a backdrop of dark wood, bulb lights and thick trees, it’s all Wet Seal and Peet’s. Close, but no cigar.

I’m writing a review just to complain about the Snoopy play area next to Fenton’s. Almost, every ride is out of order now. It has been this way since the beginning of summer. Back around the late winter, the rides started to break one by one. Someone should look into fixing the rides. Just looks sad with all the out of order signs.
