I live near del Lago and am always frustrated by the lack of options to get a later dinner or drink. Tonight, though, I had to say something. I walked in at 7:50 pm to get a quick bite to eat and a beer and they wouldn’t serve me because they were closing at 8 pm. I understand that this is a family community. I have a family! I also work to support that family and with no other options would like to be able to sit down at 8 or 9 to eat and get a drink. Until they can be a little more courteous to the needs of the working folks in their neighborhood, I’m skipping the Hacienda.

My husband and I so want to like this place since it’s a mile from home. My mom was visiting about a month ago and we waited a good 40minutes for our soup/salad. They said they had to make the balsamic vinegar dressing. After waiting I changed it to thousand island. We decided to give it another try this past Friday. We ordered clam strips for an appetizer– after about 20 minutes we were given chicken bites. After questioning it she said she put the order in wrong and would now order the clams… after about 15minutes she notified us that the kitchen burnt the clams and it was the last order they had. As we were leaving the clam boat must have arrived as the table behind us were being served clam strips!!! Too bad they can’t get it together. With the right staff/food they could make this a good place… But we’ve given up on it!

Haven’t been in a while and it was very good. Food seemed better and I hear they just got a new chef. Beer could be a little colder but all in all it was a good experience. Good views and solid food. Good value.

Set down and ordered Bloody Marie’s. Took 15 minutes to get them. The restaurant was not crowded at all on 3 tables filled. Waited over 45 minutes for our food. Several tables that came in after us were served first The food was cold, under cooked and very bland. The cheese on my scramble was not even melted. My wife ordered the biscuits and gravy. She said the ones at the fast food places were much better. The restaurant needs major improvement in service and food quality. I will not be returning to this restaurant!

Excellent service, yummy fries, and satisfying Cobb Salad. Great views of golf course and Catalina’s and Rincons. I would give 5 stars but 2.50 for iced tea seems pricey in Vail Az altho probably golfers coming into drink all day! I like the new menu … Burgers and fries and Cobb salad always good as well as service. There is a yummy tortilla soup as well! !

Hacienda del Lago is a nice looking bistro type of restaurant located on part of an 18 hole golf course in the Rancho del Lago area. They mainly serve the surrounding gated association communities and golf course patrons. They offer normal breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as special holiday brunches(like Mother’s Day). They’re also a wedding reception venue. The menu has a slight Spanish inclination but it has a variety of other choices available. I opted for a turkey burger that was described as having spinach, mushrooms and garlic mixed into the patty. It sounded appetizing but it arrived looking like a pre-pressed frozen veggie patty. Kinda disappointing to look at but the flavors were decent. Fries were average. Negra Modelo draft beer special was great at $ 2.50 per pint. The rolls they brought out were an odd biscuit like texture and had rosemary mixed in the dough. They also brought out house made potato chips on our request that were a little overdone and kind of brunt tasting. I’d give this place another chance to see what else they can bring to the plate but so far everything was just OK. Beautiful surroundings and location though.

The menu on Unilocal doesn’t match with what they actually have. Most of the things they had on the menu, they were out of. It’s a Saturday night at 7 and they are out of everything.

Just ate there again yesterday. Again great food. Service stunk. For most of our visit we were the only ones in there. Greeted promptly, order taken promptly. Then nothing. Drinks sat empty forever. Kitchen rang out our order twice. Some other guy finally brought it to us. Waitress finally re engaged at the end. Wish the service was better. Great food in lovely setting.

My husband and I had given up on this restaurant until a friend told me it was much improved under the new management. We had lunch last week and the food was good, service fast and had local beers on tap. Tonight we went for the Friday night fish fry which was quite good(too much food for one person) It is good to finally have a restaurant that I want to eat at besides the taco truck here in Vail. Hats off to the new management.

Do not, I repeat, DONOT use this venue for your wedding or any other event! While the place is a gorgeous venue to have a wedding and take beautiful sunset pictures, it is a very poorly managed establishment. Nine minutes into our ceremony the fire alarm was activated and the general manager did not know how to turn it off, it continued through the remainder of our ceremony and about 10 minutes into the reception, until a few of our guests, with the help of Del Lago staff who provided a ladder and screwdriver, silenced the alarm by disconnecting the speakers and covered the strobe lights. Then to make matters even worse the general manager, Steve Gummere, worked his way around our wedding telling guests that our children pulled the alarm. He then added injury to insult by trying to give us one bottle of Korbel(a $ 10 bottle of champagne) and offering a very insincere apology. But that is not all, the next day Mr. Gummere took it upon himself to file criminal vandalism charges against our guests for disconnecting the speaker. Once we got the police report we realized it was filled with lies! In the police report he stated that my daughter, I repeat«the bride’s daughter,» pushed the alarm button to activate it. Just a quick note, my daughter arrived at the venue with me at 6:00PM, never left my side, was my flower girl AND stood with me during the ceremony which started at 6:10PM. The alarm went off at least two times before we even arrived at the place. The owner finally got word of the catastrophe and has since offered us $ 1000 and a round of golf to make up for a $ 10,500 wedding with over 250 guests. BEWARE of this place!!!

My husband, son, & I stopped in for lunch since we saw that it was under new management with a new menu & I’ll assume a new chef. We had some pretty sub-par dinner visits a year ago & decided not to go back. Today I had the Rueben, hubby had the Cuban, & son had the BLT. The food was very tasty — I especially love their fries! I actually ordered the cole slaw which was also good but the fries were so good I kept picking off my hubby’s & son’s plates :) Also the service was excellent. I wish I had caught our server’s name, she said she was new there. Friendly & efficient — that’s really all we ask for. We are definitely going to give them another chance for dinners. We’ve always thought that there was so much potential. We hope the dinner does not disappoint. Stay tuned.

20 of my best friends celebrated New Years Eve 2015 at Hacienda del Lago. The entire dining room was transformed into a grand dining space with white linens and black and silver embellishments. The staff was cheerful, attentive, and gracious. The entire staff was amazing and the manager Steve came by over the course of the evening making sure we were all taken care of, couldn’t have been a better time! We paid a visit to the kitchen to congratulate the chef and staff on excellent food and presentation! Wow! Great night

Great specials and a good regular menu. All prices are more than reasonable. I have always had tremendous service and you can’t beat the views. I eat here probably 6 times a month(on average) and service has been impeccable every time. FULLDISCLOSURE: I am a member here and have never heard of someone having disappointed service/food.

You need reevaluate the changes you have made. You changed your menu, took off some awesome food, reduced portions and increased prices. We used to eat there at least twice a week and we won’t go back until things change.

We went here for lunch after golfing at the course and really enjoyed it. I ordered the philly cheesesteak with french fries and my husband chose the Ruben with sweet potato fries and we were both pleased with our choices. The philly was huge and the fries were very good. My husband’s ruben was good but we both agreed it could have used more sauerkraut but the sweet potato fries were the best I’ve ever had. All in all, good food but semi-okay service. There only seemed to be one waitress, so everything took quite a while, even over a presumably busy lunch hour. We did appreciate the military Monday 25% discount! This is a great place for Vail, and we’d love to go back.

Here for breakfast on a weekend, great service. We get to sit wherever we want and I always like the back corner room with the best view of the golf course and pond. Their prices went up so it’s not as great of a deal anymore. My favorite here is the chicken tortilla soup, it’s consistently great. Since their prices have gone up on the kid’s meals and breakfast, we have been returning way less often. It would be so wonderful if they had happy hour for food.

I love going here on Monday nights when Military and Club members get 25% off(everything but alcohol). Probably one of the better golf course restaurants I have come across. Pretty boring — but every single time I go I get their tequila lime shrimp with a salad. The shrimp are a good size for being in the middle of the desert! It comes with a choice of potato and the veggie of the day. The past two times I’ve been there it has been grilled asparagus. Yum! Their lime vinaigrette dressing is also absolutely delicious. My only suggestion on this meal would be to serve it with some garlic bread for the sauce the shrimp comes in. The service isn’t always the best, but the prices are decent, the food is good and its close to home, can’t really ask for more than that!
