The line was twelve people deep–
the cashier extremely slow.
I wouldn’t have waited
if I weren’t dying for some Joe.
And it was gross anyway–
a regretful buy
I raised my fist to the heaven
and yelled «dear god, whyyyy!»

but still I wouldn’t go back
until the next time I need lotto
