I didn’t choose to hire these guys. The person I bought my house from chose them to inspect and fumigate during escrow and I didn’t really have a say. Cut to just under 2 years later, when I find a couple of termites in my kitchen. I panic, as one often does with termites, and call a bunch of termite companies to come inspect the place before realizing that the house is still under warranty for fumigation. Anyway, I continue to move forward with those inspections, and have 3 different companies come over, all of whom tell me I have a termite problem and need fumigation. I also have N & D 3 come over. The guy was nice enough, and explained to me that most of the time, you never even know for sure whether you have termites or not — it’s generally just evidence that you find which could be new evidence or years-old evidence. Sure, I get that, but without even doing a full inspection, he tells me I do not have a termite problem and the termites I found earlier had flown in through the screen door as it was hot and they were swarming outside. Now, I don’t know what the ultimate truth is, but the other companies all found evidence of termites, and had N & D 3 done a proper job the first time, and covered up all the evidence they found(as most other companies tell me they should have done), then evidence would not have been found unless there were actual termites. So my husband called the owner of the company and told him he needed to refumigate, and to his credit, he did. It’s a real pain to evacuate the house with the dog and everything for 3 days as well, but we felt we’d rather be safe than sorry, and get the house redone. They outsource to another fumigation company called Kal Fume. When they refumigated, they did not do the garage, even though that was included in the warranty, and, once again, they did not cover up any evidence of termites that were found. So now, when I sell the house in a few years, I’m most likely going to have to pay for fumigation, whether the house actually has termites or not. You think they’d have learned their lesson. Anyway, like I say, the people who work here were nice enough, but they really did an awful job overall.
