Came in to try this new spot. Very good food. Owners are very friendly. Everything we ordered was very flavorful and their prices are very reasonable.

Came here on a Saturday at 10:30am with my mom because she was the one who wanted to check it out. Unilocal says they were open starting at 9, but the doors were locked and lights were off. Apparently they had an off day and opened at 12. Came back Sunday to check it out and my mom wanted to try their goat dishes. Unfortunately, it only comes in one size, at $ 9.50. My mom still wants to check it out, but next time I’ll call to make sure they’re open first. Parking lot is small, it’s shared with the red onion restaurant.

Service is always stellar, super friendly, warm and hospitable. Shout out to the new person working the front counter, Lisa. She is a real sweetheart and her kindness is genuine. The food is still honest deliciousness at reasonable prices and generous portions. The only problem I find, and this is true of restaurants holding food in chafing dishes, is that at the end of the day, food dries out, is not at its height of freshness and taste, and not all that eye-appealing. Best to order when fresh and/or off the menu, cooked to order.

As much as I want to like this place, it’s kind of a hit or miss. I had the pork belly the first time I came and it tasted wonderful. Crunchy on the outside and the meat is moist and fatty — just the way I like it. I also had a chicken stew(forgot what it was called) — tasted ok, but the chicken bones started to break apart all around the stew so that wasn’t fun to eat ATALL. The 2nd time around, I had the pork belly again. I know, oink and I don’t care. Completely different this time. There was no crunch. Like, are you Pinoy? It had the consistency of cold duck skin that was left sitting outside. I’m not sure how this was cooked — no flavor and it had a bad aftertaste. Like, how can you eff that up? That was just gross. I may have to wait awhile until I try it again.

Pilipinas Grill is where a boba place/chinese eatery was. it’s next to red onion. P.G. isn’t spotable on a driveby.(corner location across from Grand gas station) menu: combo menus from steam table, si-longs(6.99), pics of featured entrees on back screen. eats: 2 items w/rice(5.99) –rice mushy, had uncooked rice kernals –pork abodo and pork in coconut sauce, meat tender, not so flavorful –sauce weak. –beef stew and something else was other entrée, nothing labeled, just guesswork. take outs: –great value for combo, not great tasting. famished so not complaining, just saying –tenish inside tables, very clean interior unlike many filipino eateries. –rating can also be 2ish stars, seeing cup as ½ full, not ½ empty. –more attention to cooking/flavoring food will make P.G. a 4 star gem… –menu not seen. just overhead pics and blackboard combo specials, steam table items work needed to display more options which aren’t readily seen –fab, courteous service, very unusual in Filipino eatery… 3ish stars, no msg tasted, everything fresh, not day old…

Found this place from a facebook group. Tried it and really like it. Hubby being filipino loves it though. He can get home country cooking at a good price. I even found out he as went here a few times since taking him there the first time. I tried the Crispy Pata and it was so good… the Lechon is good too. They make some menu item fresh upon order. Liz the lady working there was very nice and helpful.

It was okay. Typical filipino food. Combo meals priced reasonably. Few selections. Ordered dinuguan(meat pieces are huge) and sweet n sour tilapia(just ok). Haven’t tried to order from their menu. Maybe next time. Service is nice from couple who’s the owner.

This review is NOT On the taste of the food but on availability. Went in at 7 they were out of staples like pancit and adobo but did not close until 8. I will give another try for food but dissatisfied with customer service

What I didn’t like was that their food didn’t look presentable because it looked dried sitting under those hot lamps and I was scared I would get food poisoning and plus I’m not a big fan of Filipino food I’m just getting lumpia for my father cause he likes them and the credit/debit machine does wasn’t ready to work yet the guy said cause I wanted to used my card but he said it wasn’t set up to be used yet HOWUNPROFESSIONAL VERY rude talking to other Filipino ppl in their language In my presence while I’m waiting on my food and I just don’t think that’s right

I like it :) definitely coming back its prices are good too and the people gave us more than we even paid for! I ordered the adobo and rice and there is much joy in eating in the restaurant itself just to talk to the staff and enjoy the meal

First time here. Order out on a Saturday lunch. Hardly anyone here. Ordering from the buffet counter is fast but order from menu is super slow(30+ min)…and there’s only one customer before us!!! How long does it take lumpia? Shouldn’t it be ready to go once the store open… Would not come back here again.

First time trying the Pilipinas Grill. The owners and staff there are super nice people, the décor is really fancy and inviting. The place was nice and clean. Both the chicken and pork adobo were flavorful, not too greasy or salty. Pork was mostly lean with a few pieces of nicely cooked fat, chicken was juicy, not dry. Lunpia was fresh, flavorful and meaty with a tasty mayo based dipping sauce.

The lechon belly is as good as it gets, the best I’ve tasted anywhere. Skin is crispy and the meat is tender, moist and flavorful, so delicious, you don’t want to stop eating it. Also tried the pork adobo and pork mechado which are also very tasty. It is Filipino food that is cooked with love and a cut above all the others — not too salty, fresh ingredients and seasoning is well-balanced. Generous portions. Reasonable prices. Clean environment and very friendly service. Tip: Best to go early in the day for lunch vs. dinner when food is freshest. It is a small operation and food leftover from lunch in the chafing dish tends to dry out by dinnertime, or order fresh from the menu. At least then you know it is cooked-to-order and at its best. Five stars and two thumbs up for Pilipinas Grill.

My sister found this small precious gem of a place online a few days ago for our New Years potluck celebration! It was one of the few restaurants open on New Year’s Day. When she brought the food to the house, we were surprised with the food presentation as well how it tasted! The pork belly lechon was crispy and tasty! It was a lot better than the local lechon station here where I live. The grilled squid with stuffing was tender and delicious! The fried bituka was also good. Lastly the price was cheaper than what we expected for the amount of food we got! Will definitely order for future family parties and gathering again!

A «diamond in the rough» amongst all the other Filipino restaurants I have been. I have refrained I refuse to pay for commercialized, high priced and worst, lack luster food. Just feeding yourself with all the sodium and fat that leaves you to regret why you even had it in the first place. Not this humble eatery. It really took me by surprise! I thought I was walking in to an eatery just to satisfy my family’s hunger for Filipino dishes for a new year’s feast. Boy, was in for a surprise! The lechon belly was a delight to the palate! The pork skin was so extra crispy and tender, the meat was outstanding tasty, moist and soft. The grilled squid was surprisingly a crowd pleaser. It was unexpectedly huge and tender, not overcooked or rubbery. I am not a fan of fillings inside my protein, but this really made me enjoy the special blend they have created in this dish. Every bite was a great culinary experience. I got my money’s worth. Kudos to the chef and owner for elevating Filipino food! I would definitely come back and try the other dishes they have to offer.

I decided to try the new Filipino restaurant. Came in with high hopes! Ended up with fried rice that tastes like nothing and eggs that taste similar to plastic on the edges. I honestly felt sick after from eating oily, tasteless food. I won’t be coming back here specifically because of that. There’s not much selection, in my opinion, either. I think there’s much better Filipino food restaurants around Vallejo than this one.

I’ve been here multiple times with my boy friend and since I’m not Filipino they’ve let me sample some of the food since I didn’t know what to get. They’re service is friendly and both owners are really nice. The food is great and I’ll definitely be back for more. And the inside is really nice my favorite is the light fixtures which are ships and I heard one of the owners did that by hand so props to him!
