Children’s Medical Group

Dr. Allison Self is the current doctor there. I am an adoptive mother to two special needs children and one biological… I’ve seen WAY more than my share of doctors, I have to say, she is by FAR my favorite. She is understanding, she answers questions, if she doesn’t know she finds out, she consults with other doctors, she listens to parents concerns and she listens to the KIDS. When other doctors dont follow up, she does :) We all love her. EVERY parent I talk to that has a child that sees her is so pleased with her.

The only reason this office does not get 5 stars is because of the front desk lady. The Dr is by far the very best Pediatrician in San Diego county! Dr. Douglas Dechairo is an absolute gem. All of my kids love him. He has such great positive energy. Not only does he have a wonderfully happy personality but he is such a GOOD Doc. I trust Dr. Doug with the life of my children, and I do not hesitate to say that at all! He has a couple more offices I think, one in Escondido and one in San Marcos. I go to Valley Center because it is like going to an old friends little house. It is pretty tiny for a Dr. office and he has only 2 ladies staffing it. 1 nurse and 1 receptionist. The nurse is good, she seems overworked and lacks a bit of a personality and like I stated before the receptionist is in need of some social skills. But it is worth putting up with for the Dr. he is wonderful!
