We left the house early with plans of a full breakfast before work today — feeling festive since it’s Christmas Eve. Only to find out that Campbell’s Country Kitchen was closed. So we detoured over to Villa bakery, but they were sold out of everything we wanted. Boo! So over to The coffee shop. Third time’s a charm! Great breakfast burritos and service with a smile! Thank you much! 4 stars instead of 5 only because my last two coffees stained my shirts with improperly fitted lids. :/

I decided to give this place another try, and got a coffee instead of an Americano(the Americano I got here a year ago was weak and stale). Maybe I just got them on a bad day, because the coffee was good, though not great. Not super fresh, but neither was it stale. I like it a little stronger, but I like STRONG coffee, so most people would probably find it «just right».

Friendly, warm service from nice peeps in a decent indie-coffee-shop atmosphere. I’m from Seattle, so the bar is really high for me for this kind of place, but these guys do purty darn good. We often stop on our way to the Bay Area for a soy chai latte. CG is one of the few good wifi hangouts for many miles. The gelato is nice, too.

Great place, great drinks! Excellent customer service, just an all around good experience, consistently. They do offer a lot to our local community by allowing teens and groups to meet there regularly, too.

It is an absolute MUST that you come here and try the scones! They are the best I have ever had. Nice size, great flavors, delicious tender crumb. And the lattes are good to boot!!!

While I do like Starbucks, this independent coffee brewer makes better products than Starbucks ever has. Better quality and better prices with a great interior setting for sitting down with a great cup of coffee and your smartphone/laptop or just visiting the locals of our little town. Even outdoor tables for enjoying great weather.

Came here after dinner at Mi Tierra last night for some gelato. Was delighted to hear from employees that it is housemade and not commercial. When getting gelato, I always avoid generic flavors like chocolate, vanilla, coconut, etc. Good thing there are alternatives like birthday cake, pistachio, and crème brûlée. The pistachio tasted the most authentic of the bunch that I tried. Birthday cake was alright, tasted more like cake sprinkles than cake itself. The crème brûlée tasted more like cappuccino/mocha. I decided on half birthday cake and half pistachio in a 4oz cup for $ 2.75. Not a bad price. What I’m not used to is styrofoam cups. I don’t think composting and environmental sustainability exists in this part of California yet. The staff are very inviting and friendly. Attentive to needs. The interior is pretty cosy. There are lounge chairs, checker/chess tables, books to read, local publishings/magazines, and even board games to play! This is a good hangout spot or a place to study, if people even study around there(not sure if there is free wi-fi or not). I did observe the pastry selection and do not agree with other reviewers that it tops Starbucks. However, if the benchmark is the La Boulange pastries, then yes, Common Grounds pastries are better. But nothing can beat the classic Starbucks pastries!

so, i know the owner of this place, but i’ll try not to be bias. i came from the bay area where coffee shop is just that, a place to get coffee. But this is something different. i got there and it got a nice ambiance, ordered some tea, i’m not a fan of coffee but i heard it’s good, the owner told me that they got their coffee locally and it’s freshly roasted and grounded. anyways, i ordered a medium tea and i got 2 teabags, this is nice. some places in the city only gave you 1 for a large. then i called the owner which lives nearby and he showed me around the store. he told me that he started selling gelato and he let me try all the flavors, which he told me that it’s his recipes. they are good and the cookies and cream is really good because its chocolate based not vanilla. the mango was made with real fruits and you can really taste it. they have a nice snack bar there with some baked goods and also paninis made to order, i will try them when i go back. they also have a small bookcase if you like reading, chess table and free wifi. so far so good, the prices is not bad, but the best part is that, it feels like a place where people hang out and there’s a sense of community that i dont see in the city, it seems like the customers know the owner pretty well too. i wish theres a place like this in the city and that’s why i gave this coffee shop 5 stars! p. s. they have drive-thru.

Way, WAY better than Starbucks! I’m not a huge fan of the burnt flavor of Starbucks. Found Common Ground, and haven’t been back to Staryuck since! Coffee is really aromatic, and even their snacks are yummy. They have free WiFi, so I end up eating and having coffee there a lot. The otuside seating is excellent. Inside is super-ultra clean! Staff is mostly friendly. Certainly a LOT more friendly than the snooty Starbucks people by far. And, get this… They call their large size… Large!
