They have a decent selection, & the growler station is a nice touch, but you have to watch out, some of the beer is REALLY old, like a YEAR+ EXPIRED. Beer isn’t like a fine wine, it doesn’t get any better with AGE! I wish they took some of this old stock off the shelves rather than sell to unsuspecting customers who don’t bother to check the dates or know any better. One dead giveaway to watch out for is when the bottles are dusty.

Thrifty Always has what I want or need. Large selection of soda and beer. Ice and snacks too. Very helpful staff. They’ll even help carry it out for you if you ask! Shop local!

The owner(guy with the glasses) is really cool and always helps me find new beers to try. He knows whats good… He hires a lot of younger staff(H.S) which I think is an awesome idea to get some money in their pockets.

Thrifty’s has a great selection of both domestic and imported beers. A nice half aisle of craft beers for those days your feeling adventurous. You can also get growlers from the group of taps they have in the front of the store. Don’t forge your empties! Get your refund in the back, where you actually see people instead of machines. Lotto, cigarettes, soft drinks, chips… come to think about it, it’s got a lot to offer.

Great place to shop for ‘merican beer, micro brewery, craft beers, and non-alcoholic beverages(for the D.D., of course). From what I remember, there are a dude or two in there who don’t mind sharing their knowledge if you ask for help. If you’re an out-of-stater like me, you realize quickly that you can’t buy beer and wine/hard liquor in the same store in NY. This place is situated within a couple blocks in all directions of a liquor/wine store(i can name 4 if you ask), and also across the street from the only Blockbuster in America that is still open and surviving(hmm…Date Night!). I lived around the corner from here for 3 years, and didn’t miss what I had til its gone. Now I’m living on the North Shore buying beer in a large supermarket. And the only beer distributor in my town is a cranky douche that appears to be pissed off that you even want to be rung up. Seriously miss walking around the corner to pick up some good brews. This place is pretty straight forward. Beer and Beverages. Good micro brews, sampler 12-packs, regular old beer also. Have not found another place like it in L.I. and Queens since I’ve been living here.
