The food is fabulous. I have never been disappointed with this restaurant. Although it is very pricey, it’s a nice restaurant to go to for dates or special occasions. The woman who owns it lives above it and she is the sweetest and you can tell immediately how much she cares. It’s also the only nice resturaunt you’ll find for miles. It is a must try!

I searched high and low for a high tea experience in and around Lincoln. Sadly, there are very few between Seward and Omaha but fortunately I found Simply Delicious. I was kind of worried from the pictures it would be too fussy and high end(we took along a young girl) but when we pulled up to the quaint little building in downtown Valley I felt much more welcome. While the table settings are AMAZING, dainty, pretty, gorgeous, etc., Wendy was not a bit ‘fussy’. She was welcoming, kind, patient… she even pulled out some fancy hats for us to try on and took several pictures for us. When we arrived, the table was already set for tea for three and we each had our own pot of hot water. She serves tea«Nebraska-style,» where guests select tea bags and steep their own. At first I was a teeny bit bummed but only because it was different that what I had experienced before and it was actually not a big deal at all. I would have liked to have seen a house tea blend or something a little more unique, but Wendy explained she really only does the teas because there is a need but not enough of one to do it full-time. Teas are usually served along with regular meals at Simply Delicious. The food was fantastic. I read somewhere that teas are not supposed to be filling so I mistakenly cooked up some eggs for breakfast before leaving(our tea was at 11 a.m.) The portions were yummy, fresh and plentiful. She started us off with a creamy tomato basil that was simply delicious. They also came with some oyster crackers. For the entrée we each had a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant, also very tasty, and delicate cucumber sandwiches as well as fresh fruit. We sat and chatted, ate and ate, drank and drank. We never felt rushed and we were even given to-go boxes to take home the leftovers. It was really a wonderful experience. And, as if that wasn’t enough, Wendy brought dessert. I was surprised(and pleased) to see we each got a plate with LOTS of treats, including a dish of cheesecake and three little truffles. The little white ones were amazing! They aren’t made in house but she said she is selective regarding the vendor. The presentation was absolutely beautiful. And since we were actually celebrating my neighbor and I’s joint birthday, she put a candle in our treat! The cost is $ 25 per person and completely worth it for the experience. You truly feel pampered. We actually reserved our high tea about the same time Simply Delicious was going through renovations so we actually had tea at The Gallery, where the Wendy, owner of both places and the two shops across the street, lives and works. She invited us upstairs to check out the loft, which is open for parties and entertaining, but also happens to be her home. It was gorgeous! I’m in love with the master bedroom. I would highly recommend Simply Delicious or The Gallery if you’re wanting a gorgeous setting for a bridal shower or celebration, or even Mother’s Day or pampering. Go! Enjoy. Wendy did a fantastic job hosting us and I can’t wait to take my mom and sister for a visit!

Small restaurant. Great ambiance and service. We have quite a few favorite dishes. Whiskey steaks are awesome although there is limited supply. Reserve your steaks when you get your reservations for seatong. We’ll worth the drive from Omaha. Be sure to see their art gallery next door.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, and frankly my expectations weren’t too high, but I was very pleasantly surprised! I was expecting a typical small town restaurant but this was much better than that. Presentation was excellent. My steak was done perfectly, the appetizers were very good, the wine list not bad(with some nice wines to choose from), and a very friendly owner! I will not hesitate to go back.

Great Sunday brunch with many interesting choices. From quiche to peach French toast to the standards, you can’t go wrong. With a liquor license today we had mimosas!

I have a lot of favorites at Simply Delicious! Seafood bisque, bang bang shrimp, fresh hot rolls, whiskey steak, Wendy’s shrimp, prime rib and everything from their Sunday morning breakfast is amazing! 5 star restaurant without the price tag! Great happy hour prices on wednesday and Thursday on appetizers and drinks. Just 15 minutes from Village Pointe and worth every minute.

Yummy! Very artsy environment and cloth napkins for dinner with really good flatware! I had grilled meatloaf with mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy with grilled veggies. Great food and owner served us! All the artwork is for sale and painted by the owner. Intimate setting! My hubby had the Saturday night special of prime rib which was served perfectly and had excellent flavor. Owner has lots of options for catering and special events. We will be coming back!

We visited for the third time in less than two months. We love this place. It takes 15 – 20 minutes from West Omaha, but even from where we live near Bellevue, the 40 minute drive is worth it. The artwork that Wendy Deane has put in the place is stunning, and tables are glass top over beautiful table cloths. Tables have beautiful light blue stemware goblets and votive candles. As has always been the case the food is superb and the presentation exceptional. This evening I ordered roasted chicken a sweet salad. The salad came out with a variety of delicious greens, dried cranberries, sliced almonds, sliced strawberries all very tastefully arranged in a shallow bowl. Next to come we’re the rolls, slightly crispy on the outside and when broken they were hot. and steam inside was released. They were a scrumptious prelude to the entrée. My roast chicken came out beautifully accompanied with sculptured mashed potatoes and a beautiful vegetable medley of red peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, sculptured carrots and squash. It was as delicious as it was beautiful. The cooked vegetables were done perfectly and artistically arranged on the plate. The chicken was absolutely delicious and just fell off the bones, tender, juicy and flavorful. My bride had an identical experience with cocked breast entrée. We couldn’t depart without trying our favorite dessert, crème brûlée. It was also outstanding. Besides, the service impeccable. We will be there frequently. Omaha, the place worth the short drive. If you have time also explore Wendy’s shop next door.

In March of 2012, we had my daughter’s 13th birthday party at the Artist Loft Gallery as a cooking party that she invited 8 of her good friends to. Wendy provided a professional chef who walked the girls through a three-course meal that they were then able to enjoy along with a delicious champagne birthday cake as dessert. The girls had an amazing experience and Wendy and her staff created a superstar experience complete with an on-site photographer who had photos ready to go… we had a more recent amazing experience when we were one of 10 families who took advantage of the traditional Thanksgiving meal pickup prepared by the unmatched chef Max! The meal was beautiful and delicious and was more than enough food for us… we are so happy to hear that the same thing will be available for Christmas meal-planning! Thanks Wendy and chef Max for continuing to give our family amazing experiences!

We tried this restaurant on a Saturday. My husband had the 14 oz. rib eye steak which was cooked perfect. It had a wonderful sauce and crumbled blue cheese on it. I had the grilled scallops with a lemony butter sauce that was great. We each had a choice of salad with ‘in house made’ salad dressing that was so good and fresh. Also came with another side choice and bread. The restaurant is small but nicely decorated and great atmosphere. A wonderful surprise in a small town outside of Omaha. The desserts sounded SO good but we were too full to try them. I will have to come back and try them. The price was reasonable also.

My Nebraska philly sandwich here was just okay… but it sure hit the spot after a long drive. The kill shot came from the coconut cream pie. Dense filling. cream. real crust. I only wished the crush were blind-baked a little longer. This is a family run establishment with 3 generations working. They open up on Wednesdays, so that is when things are freshest. I talked to the young grand daughter who made my pie. They are still making the crusts the only way you can make a proper American pie crust… with your hands and fingers using a specific technique. I mimicked the motions to her and she said«Yep… that is the secret.» Anyway… homemade is always the best, and you get that here. Good stuff.
