At the suggestions of pretty much all of our friends, we decided to try out JC’s Bar-B-Q Place on a Saturday early evening. Finding the restaurant could be a bit tough, but thankfully we were familiar with area. It was busy, but not crowded, which was good because seating is rather limited. I had the three meat plate with three sides(pulled pork, brisket, and sausage with corn, green beans, and baked beans) and my husband had The JC Sandwich(pulled pork, sausage, bacon) with a side of fries. Pulled pork and brisket were perfect! Moist and tender, but not mushy. I absolutely love that the brisket was sliced thick and not chopped. Also, I love that the meat didn’t come pre-sauced. Their hot sauce is perfect and their special sauce was great with fries. We both were not a fan of the sausage though. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t outstanding either. All the sides were good, especially the fries. We finished with an apple and a coconut fried pies. They were delicious! Leave room for the fried pies(apple, coconut, peach, and chocolate available).

We had this place for lunch on a Monday as we were passing through. The portions were a good size. They have 3 different flavor a of bbq sauce to choose from: sweet, medium and hot. They also have a special sauce which they recommend just for chicken and French fries. The meat had a nice smoke flavor and was very moist. We were here with a big party and had a little bit of all the meat: chicken, sausage, beef brisket, pulled pork and ribs. The baked potatoes were huge. But my favorite thing was the baked beans. They had a great, unique flavor.

Food is really good. Sliced Brisket was moist and had a lot of flavor. Also pulled pork was really tasty — good portions. The biggest issue was the continuous Christian music playing in the background. I’m the wife of a pastor and it was just too much.

Small hole-in-the-wall joint so get here early if you want a seat. Got moist brisket, sausage and pulled pork. Not the best I’ve had but all good. Their Cajun corn was unique and tasty.

Excellent bbq! It’s hard to find a decent bbq place around here but this is definitely one of them! Fair prices and great staff. They actually came to our table to make sure our food was good.

Likes: Bbq Sauce, house fries, cajun corn Dislikes: Meats(Ribs, brisket and pulled pork) they were all extremely dry and tough, like they had left it uncovered in the fridge and heated up in the microwave. I may stop by to buy a sauce to take home but i will definitely not be returning for the meat.

Quiet place on a Wednesday night. Great meal as long as you’re not looking for anything healthy. However, the girl that took my order offered to make me a salad when I asked if they had anything healthy(she said no) and albeit simple, it was actually very good. Went with the combo plate — chicken and brisket, baked potato, beans, salad(not on the menu). The meat was not as moist as I’d like, but a nice smoky flavor and not dried out. Good local option when wanting to avoid fast food or a chain.

Have been back a couple more times. The bad ribs I had before were a fluke because they have been good since. Brisket has been good too. And of course the pulled pork remains great.

Had lunch there today. Great service for a little BBQ joint and excellent BBQ. I had the ¼ chicken, it was fall off the bone tender with a nice smoke flavor and aroma, but not so much that it overpowered the meat. I only wish I could get it dry(without sauce), so I could have eaten the skin as well. It’s a little off the beaten path, but worth the drive if you are heading east on I-40 in the Fort Smith/Van Buren area.

It’s just a bit off the beaten path, and you might miss it the first time you drive by, but you will be rewarded for your efforts with some excellent pork, beef and smoked sausage concoctions. Note first that the business doesn’t face the road. It’s on the right side as you drive between two small buildings. You’ll know you made the right choice when your nose tells you«this is the place!» The family staff is friendly and very helpful. A man I am going to assume is JC came out and checked on everyone and couldn’t have been more kind. We ordered the BBQ cheese fries and, being our Texas selves, gladly paid the upcharge for brisket. Also ordered the brisket quesadilla and the amazement known as the brisket dog(see pics) which is a smoked sausage on a bun, topped with a good helping of brisket along with caramelized onions and jalapeños. Mind you, a Texan is always apprehensive ordering brisket out of state. We know. Hate all you want. Nearly anyone can smoke pork. It takes skill to hit the sweet spot on brisket. We were not disappointed in that decision one bit. Nailed it. One more thing. If they haven’t sold out, get the cajun corn side. Perfect compliment to the dog. Our only disappointment was that we forgot to try the homemade Cole slaw, which we read great reviews about. Oh well. Next time we’re driving from Memphis to Oklahoma, that will be on our plate, along with everything else we want to try!

We found JC’s BBQ for a lunch stop while traveling on I-40. A small dive, but very friendly service and delicious barbecue. We’re pulled pork eaters, and my husband and son got pulled pork sandwiches(with cole slaw) and fries. The sandwiches had lots of meat, and the fries were made from fresh-cut potatoes. I ordered the BBQ-stuffed potato. The potato was large, freshly baked, and filled with pulled pork, butter, sour cream, and topped with cheese and BBQ sauce. Sauce came in hot, sweet, and mild. The men mixed all three sauces on their sandwiches; I used just the hot. The hot BBQ sauce was indeed hot, and all the sauces tasted homemade.

Wish I had found this BBQ last year. Great food! I tried the pulled pork plate with coleslaw and homemade french fries. Sweet tea is fresh and the BBQ sauce is homemade. Try this place for lunch or dinner you will not be disappointed.

Super friendly people. The ribs were tender and tasty. The brisket was moist and delicious. We had the beans, Cole slaw and potato salad. All three well done. I will return next trip.
