America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I have gone there for several years and it just gets worse. They had a doctor there that we all loved, but now that he’s gone, ugh. For the last 3 years, they haven’t gotten my prescription right and have had to remake the glasses, but this last exam, they were so rude (the doctor huffing at me about how I’m so sensitive to change like it’s my fault the prescription was wrong), then the woman who entered the information was so cold and curt, I decided I’m never returning to this office. And the glasses still aren’t right, but I can’t bring myself to go back in. Horrid service.

I bought two pairs of glasses here that have served me well for a couple of years. I have a wide head so a lot of the standard glasses won’t fit me well, but I found two pairs that fit just right and have little clip-​on sun glass attachments.
The staff have always been very nice to me. Recently my dog decided that one of the pairs would make a fun chew toy! She discovered she could nibble off the rubber ends where the eyeglasses sit on your ear.
I took them in to the store and they fixed them up as well as gave my other ones a tune up (new pads for my nose). They now work and look great again :) Saved money from having to buy a new pair (money which I will spend on appropriate chew toys for the dog).
tldr; don’t use eyeglasses for makeshift dog toys, and would buy glasses from this store again!

I went here yesterday because it was actually ordered by my doctor. I’ve been having some bad migraines for the last 7 weeks and am extremely sensitive to light. My doctor told me to go see an eye doctor just to make sure that my vision is okay.
I called around and my medical insurance wont cover vision until 2015. I was recommended by a friend of mine to go to Americas Best. She was right and I gave in.
Overall I had a good experience at Americas Best. The staff was professional and when I explained to them what my doctor was looking for and why I was there they were more then accommodating and gave me a discount on one of the field tests I needed. When I went in I was certain that my vision was perfect and I would not be needing glasses. When the doctor went to dilate my eyes she told me that she had to look at them with a bright light and I was super hesitant because I knew it was going to hurt. She didn’t mention it, but I could tell she was doing her best to try to bock out some of the excess light to help alleviate the pain.
It turns out that my vision isn’t perfect. Its not even good. Its actually terrible and I failed the tests. The migraines are probably being caused due to the left eye working overtime because my right eye is lazy.
It took me 5 minutes to find 2 pairs of glasses to suit my needs. Wen I chose out the glasses a gal named Angela offered some extra services on the glasses (Transitions, scratch coating etc.) but I passed and she was okay with that. I didn’t feel any pressure at all to upgrade.
I’m not happy about having to wear glasses but I went 30 years of my life with perfect vision so at least it was a good run.
But yeah 2 pairs of decent glasses for $ 69 bucks– not a bad deal. I wouldn’t hesitate on sending a friend or relative there.

I went in because I needed an appointment ASAP for having problems in the dark. I consented for the disease of the eye exam as well, which is miserable and nearly blinding. The eye doctor flat out told me I needed a minor prescription but what I told him didn’t add up to being night blind. Basically telling me I have a disease of the eye he couldn’t find or I was lying. Two pairs for $ 69.95 + free exam ended up being $ 160 for two pairs + exam + extra exam + over an hour of my life ill never get back. The doctor showed up forty five minutes after my arrival, lunch in hand, calling me by the wrong name.
No thanks. Not coming back.
Also, the «week to ten days» until your glasses come in? More like two weeks.

Having worn glasses for about 13 years its safe to say I have been to my fair share of eyeglass places and this is by far the worst. The secretaries were very unfriendly and always seem like they are hiding information (they might get commission?). The girl (apprentice?) who «helped» me pick out glasses informed me of my large nose and the fact that «they didn’t have a lot that fit my face» as she motioned me over to the more expensive pairs. After a couple of her suggestions were shot down, she grew frustrated, retreated to her «desk» and told me to «come find her when I’m ready so she could check if the glasses I picked „fit my face“». Thanks seeming unprofessional and uninformed «eye glass expert (?)». Out of all the places I have been to this place has by far the worst selection for the «specials» they put on. Many different versions of the same pair of glasses, and when I finally got my glasses, they gave me some 1980’s soft case which did nothing to my glasses except bend one pair and scuff the lens of the other. This place could at least offer hard cases? My advice is do not go out of your way to go to this place because the specials, in the end, do not justify the lack of quality and service.

I went because of the infamous special for 2 pairs of glassed for $ 69 about 2 years ago. With all the fees, two pairs of glasses would have been much more than $ 69, so I didn’t get them. I got contacts instead and the price was fair, but more than I’d planned on spending. What bothered me the most, though, was the elderly couple there who came in expecting the same $ 69 special and instead looked like they wanted to die when she told them $ 549 total for her two pairs of glassed with all her «special needs». I’ll never return and I would recommend to find a place that’s honest about their prices up front. Trickeration might get me in the door, but it won’t keep me as a customer! Besides, I can order numerous pairs of glasses for $ 69 or less on
and I see out of them as well as I have any pair of glasses and I’ve worn them since I was 13.
